Pay attention to her penmanship, not only with the free-hand calligraphy I watched her “write” with a quill pen. For art shows, she really used a feather quill, but there were some really fine pens for artists and craftsmen. (Realize I almost wrote “craftspeople.” EGAD… the conditioning is complete.)
The penmanship I refer to is her post calligraphy “edits.” My handwriting at its best was never as good as both my parents’ penmanship. I think they had better teachers. Their parents.

MG – a few thoughts.
1) I am not big on the “teamwork” horseshit. Yes, people need to be able to work together. But my experience is that it is the strength of individuals that matter most. They do not have to be superstars, but they have to be bullnecked men and women – people willing to do what is required to get the job done.
2) we need to stop coddling the young. Parents need to parent. The young need to have responsibilities forced onto them – if you do not do such and such, you do not eat. They need to have expecatations forced upon them – I expect you to do your best. If you do not, there will be consequences.
3) it is not my job to teach people. It is their job to educate themselves. They should be demanding appropriate education for themselves – and the educational institutions will follow that. Instead the young are demanding A grades with no work, as they are the customer, and the institutions therefore are following that demand. The kids should rater be demanding a valuable education, in fields where the will obtain appropriate and valuable skills. They are slovenly.
4) Jobs and being “workers” are a concept I do not understand. Jobs are bullshit, as is the idea of being a worker. That entire concept is foreign to me. instead, people should focus on making a living, and concentrate on developing the skills that will allow them to do that. As a result, they may then find they can get a job, or perhaps start a business, etc. The idea that people need jobs, or have a right to a job, is in my opinion incorrect. what they need is to make a living. Jobs, business, etc. flows from there. Jobs are not something magical waiting to be thrust upon people.
5) that people have not developed themselves over their careers, and have not adapted their skills to make a living is their own fault.
Above, it says there is no well defined path for them to do so. That entire idea is horseshit. The information to learn anything is out there for anyone wanting to learn. Want to learn to weld? It is there. Want to learn computing. It is there. Want to learn brain surgery, it is there – but finding volunteers to practice on may prove difficult. I do not believe we have the obligation to provide a path. People need to provide their own path, and take responsibility for themselves. If they squandered their time and did not take the opportunities they had, too bad for them. If they wandered through life thinking that by showing up to a job they would be safe and secure, too fucking bad for them.
As for incentives in public and private policy – how about this one: anyone who fucks up and does not skill themselves so as to be able to make a living gets to starve. That is all the incentive that is required.

They used to have menstrual huts where women would retire to. They used that time to rest, recreate and refresh themselves. Moss, rabbit fur, leaves, wool, rags and many other objects have been used over time to collect menstrual blood, perhaps those objects should be brought back into use, it would satisfy those demanding that we all go green…and much of said objects can be obtained for free, just be careful from which plants the leaves are obtained.
I am relapsing into Retro MG here, but since you jumped right into the bloody topic and started discussing the collection of menstrual blood, I was reminded of the time I brought the topic up during one of our Family of Families Prepper Group meetings. The leadership of the group (who’d asked for topics we felt needed researching) deferred to their wives and the other “ladies” in the group. That was late 2009 and we were not aware that any of the men would even want to menstruate.
The “ladies” and I explored the topic a bit and were soon all delighted we were post-menopausal or at least close enough to get it surgically done. I do not want to be in a Post Toilet Paper environment, much less post other types of hygiene luxuries. But, since I had brought it up, I collected the information and presented the paper to the gals in the group. Like I said… none of the men seemed interested.
There were several options at the time which actually involved inserting a collapsible bulblike thingy up ones hoo-hoo to literally collect the blood and, if you must know, a drainage valve. There was a cup apparatus as well, which is why I wondered why the inclusion of “cups” was in the demand. And, if you must know, think diaphram but hardshell concave to collect, um, fluid.
