Excellent question. I have a couple questions of my own.
Why didn’t Stone ask that question directly to Trump instead of to the Alex Jones Show audience, and if he did, what was Trump’s answer? Apparently Stone and Trump have known and associated with each other for roughly 30 years or more. Shouldn’t Stone have Trump’s phone number? Note that this wasn’t the only time Stone asked the audience a question that he should have been asking Trump. I listen to Alex Jones a lot, and about two years ago when Stone was frequently on the show he often said to the audience that Trump should or should not be doing something or other. I sent Stone an email once about two years ago asking him if he was also saying those same things to Trump, but I never got a reply.
Why has Trump surrounded himself with every swamp creature, Deep State operative, and Never Trumper imaginable? It is almost like he is going out of his way appoint people who will fail, or will fight with him and defy his instructions, or even worse yet, try to bring him down like Fiona Hill. The possible answers I see are:
1. Trump is an atrocious judge of character. But it is hard to imagine that he could be that bad a judge of character, and even if he was, pure chance would mean that at least some of his appointments would be good. But they are almost all bad.
2. Trump is deliberately making awful appointments for some reason. The only possible reason I can think of for that is that he wants to fail, and also have a plausible excuse for failing, but that doesn’t seem likely.
3. His appointments are being made by others. I think that is the right answer. Trump was captured by the Deep State at some point, either before or after he was elected (probably before), and his handlers are making the decisions. In fact some of his appointments are his Deep State handlers, like Bill Barr.
And then there is The Zapruder Briefing explanation that pretty much answers your questions and mine regarding DJT appointments.
I agree. The Deep State typically uses blackmail and/or threats to capture people. The Zapruder Briefing is definitely a good threat, and has probably been used for most presidents since and including Carter to make sure they toe the line. (Johnson was in on the plot to kill Kennedy, and I think Nixon knew about it but wasn’t necessarily involved. George H. W. Bush was probably also in on the plot, but even if he wasn’t he was definitely already Deep State so he didn’t need the briefing.)
