No, the Hispanics here in the Antelope Valley have been anticipating the 4th of July since around early May. They have been setting off fireworks almost nightly for two months and I expected this bang-bang lollapalooza.
There were a lot of roman candles, shooting stars and flash-bangs going off in the daylight hours of 6 and 7. By twilight, the show ramped up into 5th gear. The noise was continuous enough to sound like an endless string of firecrackers, this went on until around 10:30 when they reached climax and sputtered off into the night with occasional blasts going off until around 1 am.
Fireworks are hard to ban anywhere. The governor can shut down businesses because he controls law enforcement. But what he does not control is a pissed off Rambo businessman who lost his life work and will be coming after him.
