I’ll wear mine in public places — which I rarely go to any more — until they either find a therapeutic treatment for a Covid-19 infection (kill the virus in the body completely) or come up with a vaccine that prevents everyone from getting it. That may take 2-3 years. It may never happen. But evidence is growing that getting infected with this virus means a much-shortened lifespan. If a mask decreases risk of infection even a little bit, it’s worth staying virus-free as long as you can.

I don’t really leave my rural lifestyle all that much.I have refused to wear the stupid mask so far. Whenever I do have to go someplace.I get this sick feeling in my gut,because I just do not want to get into it with some non thinking moron. Which I have a number of times . I will even travel to more rural places to shop,but it is getting harder. Now the wal-mart thing. They are tightening the noose of compliance. Now I will adjust and do any food shopping I need to do once a month. As long as I can do it….Fuck the fucking fucks!!!!
Here’s where it goes from the ridiculous to the sublimely insane. Masks are mandated in public places in Texas. If I need groceries or other necessities I MUST wear a mask. So, I wear a mask around my chin so I can breathe freely. Any store caught allowing a customer in sans mask is fined $1,000.
My mask is on, they can’t say I’m not compliant with said mandate and….that’s what they want. A docile and obedient populace. If I am forced to cover my nose then I shall have a susto and put on quite the show, gasping for air, fanning myself and holding my chest. I will find something to sit on, like maybe in the bread aisle.

My sister and BIL live in a rural area in NC, but in a ‘dry’
county. To purchase any adult beverages they just travel
to the next county over.
My city and county in FL have mandated mask-wearing
in all indoor public spaces, but the four surrounding
counties have no such edict, so ALL my shopping has been
there and will continue to be so as long as this ridiculous
mandate remains.
It’s a bit of a pain in the ass and more time-consuming, but
I don’t care.
Now IF they all go the mandated way, I guess I’ll be forced
to wear a mask. Until then, NO.

So today it finally happened, I knew it would eventually, but I was ready. I came out of Walmart with my mask on and keeping six feet distance from everyone, pushed my cart to my car, all the while wearing my mask. A woman was getting out of her car next to me with no mask.
As I’m putting groceries into my car she says, “Let me guess – you’re a liberal. Cause that mask ain’t gonna do anything for you except make you look stupid .”
In anticipation of this happening, I already had a response ready. I said “Look, I woke up with a temperature of 102 this morning (I didn’t) plus I work around hundreds of people in close quarters (I don’t) so this is for your protection, not mine. How about I take it off and we hug like old friends?”
I stepped toward her and acted as if I was taking off my mask. She stepped back away from me and went across to the next row of cars. I followed her, she kept walking away, I chased her, she ran… She fell down. I grabbed her foot. I pulled on her leg, just as I’m pulling yours.
But now I have a plan if it really happens!
