Kurt Vonnegut’s short story – Harrison Bergeron – was written in 1961, and in Vonnegut’s darkly satirical style, portrayed America in 2081 as an disgracefully dystopian nightmare. Little did Vonnegut know what he considered outrageous and 120 years in the future, would be far closer to our current dystopian reality just 60 years later. The story was brought to my attention by my wife a week ago when we were talking about the absurdity of masks, their uselessness in stopping viruses, how they are nothing more than a means to control the population, being used to spread fear, and as a dehumanizing technique.

I read The Fourth Turning in 2006, after seeing it described in John Mauldin and Doug Casey’s newsletters as an uncannily accurate assessment of American history based upon generational configurations which recur on eighty-year cycles, a long human life. Strauss and Howe wrote the book in 1997 and used their generational theory to predict the Crisis that would begin in the mid-2000’s and come to an indeterminate climax in the mid-2020’s.

The petty tyranny of the Covid panic has gone from a genuine response to a public health concern to just another aspect of post-sanity America. People now wear all sorts of silly face coverings when going about their day for the same reason they wear pants or shoes. It’s just another thing that is required. Soon, it will be custom, like not wearing white before Memorial Day. The ever changing rules issued from local tyrants are now taken in stride like, the weather or earthquakes in California.

“There Is No Proven Effectiveness” – Netherlands Refuses To Mandate Mask Wearing In Public

American public health experts, led by Dr. Anthony Fauci, have struggled over the past couple of months to push a specific narrative on the public: Wearing a mask doesn’t so much protect you from being infected with SARS-CoV-2, but if you are infected, wearing a mask could stop you from passing the virus to someone else.

The mainstream media has backed up these assertions with vague references to “science” and “research”, while a coalition of celebrities and progressive activists have tried to tar anybody who doubts this narrative – or, worse, refuses to wear a mask at all times outside their home – as a “denier”.

Well, if everybody who is skeptical of the “masks save lives, period” is a “denier”, then how does one explain the Dutch government’s decision to refuse to mandate mask wearing (the only place where masks must be worn in the Netherlands is on public transit).

Shame on You – Not CV

Mask mandates across the Nation are seemingly being followed without rational thought by ignorant, obsequious people willing to do whatever a tyrannical government says.    I see whole families with young children walking the streets of my town with masks donned in the heat of summer.    Not to mention those people driving alone with masks on.  I can’t imagine the media induced fear they must have.  People don’t wear masks in their cars, alone, unless they are in a state of terror about their world, the things they touch and the air they breathe.  If not fear, they are making a political statement for Marxism.  In either case, it’s not good for America and Americans.   The mainstream media thinks it’s nothing to wreck human lives that are in their path.  Misery loves company.

MASKS ARE USELESS

No Face Diaper at Gym!

We could all use some good news, so here’s a morsel of it: My gym – which The Coonman most graciously allowed to open its doors on Monday as per “Phase II” (government make-workers love to make their work sound important) is not enforcing Sickness Kabuki.

No Face Diapers required of members, though members are free to face-diaper, if they wish (as they should be able to do in a free country; the problem has been the forcing of face-diapering, which should not happen in a free country or even a sort-of-free one). No perp-walk taped lines and cattle chute conditioning, either. No making an appointment or waiting outside to be let in.
