Gun Sales Surge 80 Percent in Seven Swing States

Gun sales have been rising nationwide for months but are specifically up in seven swing states as the November 3, 2020, election approaches.

Fox News reports the Cook Political Report lists “Arizona, Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin as toss-ups” in the coming election. They also indicate New Hampshire and North Carolina can be considered toss-ups too.

Here is the kicker: There is a 77.9 percent surge in “gun sales growth” for those seven states.

This news is on top of National Shooting Sports Foundation’s findings ammunition sales surged 139 percent nationally during the first six months of 2020. And the surge in swing state gun sales comes as 2020 witnesses eight consecutive months of record background checks for gun sales.

On September 2, 2020, Breitbart News reported that January 2020 through August 2020, eight consecutive months, saw record gun sale background checks performed by the FBI.

What do these surging background checks, gun sales, and ammunition sales, indicate for the November elections, particularly where they are seen in swing states?

Do gun purchasers turn into gun voters, who will support Second Amendment candidates over gun control candidates?

Fox News spoke to Ken Mahoney, political and financial analyst and CEO of Mahoney Asset Management, who observed the tight races in swing states during the 2016 election. He said, “These states had a margin of victory of less than 1% in 2016, so each campaign is sure to increase their focus on these areas over the next 41 days.”

He then addressed the surge in gun purchases: “This issue is important for many Americans, and this is shown in the recent spike in gun sales as people fear the sale of firearms will be banned if Biden were to win.”

Guns, especially handguns, are just “good luck charms” for most people.

Rarely practiced with, generally locked up 24/7, more likely to be stolen than used in defense, and purchased more for a sense of security than anything else.

Maybe in the Progressive Blue Bubble you live in your narrow and local miss perception of the who, what, where, when, why, and how of American people/guns is true, but throughout flyover country (I have owned 7 houses in 5 states) and in my current neck of the woods ‘serious weapons’, ammo/mags, fighting gear/kits, of every type and strip are bountiful, and muscle memory is being fine-tuned is a constant. I know that for a fact because I can hear it 7 days a week.

More of your broad sweeping pronouncements that have no fact in reality.

This is just the tip of the training going on.

Be careful .22…don’t shoot your eye out!

Those new buyers are libtards. The TBP’ers have been armed for decades. These are voters who have learned a lesson in self-defense. If held today I think Trump wins in a walk.

CC,actually I believe majority of buyers not new but folks building up their collections, would say 70 percent of sales to current gun owners.I will admit this opinion just based on a few folks I have talked to and a gut feeling, have no hard stats to back it up.

I will also say have seen a few calibers of ammo going back down in price on the net and actually available, also feel a lot of ammo from other countries increasingly coming to the US,some great, some,eh.

Where can you get 9mm? There is none for sale. And 556 is almost as unobtanium.

SGA- one of the best places had 1 case limits for a while, then 1 BOX limits, now it is just gone.

The last case of 9mm I got from SGA was $169 for 1,000 Winchester 124 fmj NATO Ball not too many months ago. Everything is double and triple just six months ago. A lot of guns are going above retail. I ran through three boxes of 124’s yesterday shooting steel plates. Very therapeutic.

Good luck with that, bro. If I was in dire straights (which I’m not), I’d probably take the “dance with the one that brung ya” route, and buy every round of .22 WMR I could find-which still seems pretty plentiful, along with a couple PMR 30’s and a CMR 30 or two-both of which can be had, strangely enough. Either that, or find a suitable platform for a 300 win mag, which I saw somewhere there’s a direct impingement or a piston gun for-probably a piston gun with all that power. Those are the only two calibers of moment and in any quantity that I’ve seen in the last two months. Otherwise, the Western Drug on US 60 on the edge of Springerville has 5.56, .308 Win and 5.45×39 they’re selling on a 1 box per customer per day limit. That said, shotgun shells seem quite plentiful, and tactically the handgun and shotgun fill a similar niche, excepting that the shotgun is less portable and much harder to conceal-which won’t matter much when we get to TEOTWAWKI. Otherwise, you might seek out a handloader in your area that could probably set you up for a fee. .45-70 is still pretty available, too, but its a little spendy. It won’t stop up- armored vehicles, but it’ll stop your local Antifa chapter’s prius no doubt. And make quite a mess of chinese body armor. I realize all this info is unnecessary to the informed, but in case there is a newbie reading this that is empty handed and panicking, I hope this helps a little.

Otto, hit up SG ammo and a few other on liners. The rounds I saw were .40&.38 on sites I visited,9 does seem rare but as 22 suggests also visit your local retailers. You can get 5.56 but at moment about 58 cents a round, the 7.62 x39 plenty available excepting the 8m3 I like but then many did buy a lot when times were plentiful,do some research if you are light and will find something you need,I believe prices will start dropping but if I was light would get some even at high prices.

The other seems missing caliber is the ACP,really all sites I have hi t showing zero, even the usually expensive high end(in theory)defensive rounds, again, many bought while they could.

I will say again and guess get negged again we will see the next few weeks a lot more quality foreign coming in and prices will drop some.

Thx for all who chimed in, I have been here before and have a very high appetite for shooting so I am well supplied. I just got 5000 small pistol primers of gunbroker and that should last me a good while.
I am from the buy it cheap stack it deep camp. I dont sell to anybody I dont know but in 13 after the Sandy Hook I made some excellent trades.
Maybe the opportunity will.come back around, if this persists.

I saw M855 yesterday from the Ees-ra-ay-lees at IMI for around $800/1000. Usually about $350 more or less. 7.62×39 is usually $4 a box, now $7 or more. Thanking the Good Lord I have always been a paranoid supplies freak. Like my old buddy Black Blade always said, “Buy it cheap and stack it deep.” That old dude has hundreds of thousands of rounds in every popular caliber cached all over Creation. He is the King of Preppers.

HR,while a bit more see the 7.62×39 at about 34 cents a round right now, again, tis not the 8m3 I like but guess I should have bought a lot when available,hmmmm…..,actually,everything fine on that front!

The IMI was as of last night about 60 a round,600 a case.

I do feel a lot of foreign coming our way,a lot good,a lot ,eh.

Better hurry up and get your guns before Trump is re-selected. He’s going to pass massive sweeping gun control laws. He said so himself, just read his books and look up his statements he has publicly made.

Your second amendment will be safe , nothing will happen to the ink on paper .
Your ability to possess , carry and purchase ammunition and firearms will vaporize and with red flag laws we are all fucked .
Regardless who is in the Oval Office your local councils will create a maze and your weapons will be confiscated .
The war is on ! Good Luck

Guns are still available and so is ammo. You just have to know how to get it. Right around the corner from the US headquarters of Glock is Adventure Outdoors. AO bills themselves as the worlds largest gunstore with just over 130 yards of gun counter. If you can buy Blue Label Glocks they have had almost every model in stock since this time last year. They have had runs on ammo.

If you call an on-line ammo supplier that produces their own ammo and it is showing out of stock most of the time they will take a phone order and put you in the queue. At the beginning of the summer I had a buddy buy his first AR in 223/5.56 and ammo was not available. I gave him 8 different producers and he was able to place 6 orders over the phone that all delivered within 6 weeks. He is now sitting on about 5k of ammo. He did the same with Magpul and got 30 magazines.

You have to dig a bit harder but it is out there.

Squared, while not the hey day of 89 bucks delivered for 10 pmags(some went nuts at that price!) you can still get 10 for 109 delivered,no shortage there and you prefer the metal dhl’s delivered for I believe last check 99.

I have them for AR and AK but I’m not sold on Magpuls. Yes, the follower is revolutionarily good and they make an aftermarket follower for the GI aluminum and stainless mags. C-Products Dura Mag is probably better than Magpuls and I bought more this week for $10.99 each.
Some of my old Magpuls which were not left loaded or were loaded with the cover snapped on as they advise expanded enough they will not fall out freely. Not an issue with a Kalashnikov but anything that has a magwell like the AR pattern could be a problem at the very worst time.
If You want Magpuls, get the Generation 3 units and keep that cover snapped on loaded mags for sure.

I have a lot of gen 2 and so far, they have worked out fine. That said,as with any only go to 29 per unit so can change quick on a closed BCG with out a hiccup.

Yesterday, me, hubby, my daughter and 13 year old grandson blew through several $$$ of ammunition. It was my birthday.

By the way, we live in NC. A couple of weeks ago at the local gun show, there were only 5 handguns for sale. In the past, there were hundreds, if not thousands.

Ammo is in very short supply, and so are handguns. You can find some cheap 9mm and some .45, but if you want a new Sig, high capacity 9mm forgedaboudit. Ammo is all FMJ and flies off the shelf.

The gun store guy says this time is worse than under obama, Rhona and shortages and whatever……..
