At a time when the constant narrative from Washington is one of ‘inequality‘ (of outcomes, not opportunities) and just how much redistribution is required to “fix” that, the following words from JFK seem worth a re-listen:
“…there is always inequity in life.
Some men are killed in a war and some men are wounded, and some men never leave the country, and some men are stationed in the Antarctic and some are stationed in San Francisco.
It’s very hard in the military or personal life to assure complete equality. Life is unfair.”
Of course, when your life is predicated on raging against the machine (and projecting that rage on various social media feeds), no amount of facts or common sense will change one’s mind about self-responsibility…
It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. But it is not easy nor inexpensive to do so, especially when those who wish to prevent us from making the truth known, attack us without mercy on all fronts on a daily basis. So each time you visit the site, I would ask that you consider the value that you receive and have received from The Burning Platform and the community of which you are a vital part. I can't do it all alone, and I need your help and support to keep it alive. Please consider contributing an amount commensurate to the value that you receive from this site and community, or even by becoming a sustaining supporter through periodic contributions. “A little Indian brave who before he was ten
Played war games in the woods with his Indian friends
And he built a dream that when he grew up
He would be a fierce warrior Indian chief
Many moons passed ‘fore the dream grew strong
Until tomorrow he would sing his first war song
And fight his first battle, but something went wrong
Surprise attack killed him in his sleep that night
And so castles made of sand
Melts into the sea
Eventually”

Could someone PLEASE tell me where it is written that life is, or has ever been, fair?????
I have been on the earth over seventy years; I have done and seen things which still give me nightmares; I have been all around this world in my travels; and I have yet to see anything which would lead me to even fantasize about this world being fair. This world is totally ambivalent about man and his existence, as are most of the people who inhabit it. While the world is not “out to get you” it really don’t give a damn if you are gotten by someone or something or not. If you want anything which this world has to offer, all you need do is go and get it. Just remember, everything has a price. If you are willing to pay “that” price you can have it; if you are not willing to pay the price, find something else to want because the world does not care.
Unfortunately we’ve raised at least two generations of participation ribbon winners that have never been taught this principle.
Some people’s dads help get Prohibition passed and then exploit the black market for millions in profits, then use that money to buy the elections of their son’s…..life isn’t always fair.
“no amount of facts or common sense will change one’s mind about self-responsibility…”
Too many people do not believe in personal responsibility. It is always the fault of someone else for their circumstance in life.
As my grandma liked to say “poor people make poor choices.”
It was unfair for joos to bring their slaveship cargo to our shores. Four hundred years later it is unfair for joos to use that cargo as a weapon against us. When do we start being unfair in return…..WHEN?
No one will give you justice; you have to take it!
