The terms ‘right’ and ‘left’ are misleading. The opposite sides are Liberty (freedom plus morality) and tyranny (freedom minus morality… dictatorship or anarchy, take your pick).
An immoral dictator; politician, strongman, owner of a company, will have their power, whores, etc. A moral leader, though none are perfect, will encourage liberty through, for example, modest taxation (taxes are a form of tyranny, though necessary in modest amounts, a necessary evil). 70% taxation is advanced tyranny, 100% taxation (communism) is full blown tyranny. Both result in greatly reduced economic output. My source on this is even the most casual examination of history.
Though I am not wealthy by local, monetary standards, I do not glare at my fellow citizen driving a Tesla, but am happy for them. There is a liberty and peace in that; sometimes it passes understanding.

There is looking appropriate for the job you were hired for and then there is being a distraction and a “negative” in the eyes of customers.
