In what is likely the least shocking thing to come from The White House this week, President Trump has tweeted that he will not be attending President-Elect Biden’s inauguration:

What we really wonder is how many more Republicans will not attend and will it be higher than the 70 Democrats that chose not to attend Trump’s inauguration out of protest?
Georgia Rep. John Lewis said at the time he would not be attending the inauguration because he believes Trump is not a “legitimate president.”
California Rep. Alan Lowenthal tweeted that he would not be attending Trump’s inauguration because “respect must be earned.”
Were those comments seditious? Non-patriotic?
Also, as a reminder, this is not historically unusual, as 80 lawmakers missed Richard Nixon’s 1973 swearing-in ceremony. John Lewis also sat out George W Bush’s 2001 event, along with some other members of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Like I had commented a while back, trump is the loudmouth in the bar that has to sound off to feel tough or be recognized. They are first ones to fold and run when it comes time to shut the fuck up and get down. Wherever I go I never worry about the loudmouths or the people sitting with their backs to the entrances or windows looking out. Never defend failure. Own up to it and learn from it. It sucks that people, again, had to learn this about politics the hard way. I am very curious as to the absolute madness stoking the utterly ridiculous response to the opening of the Capitol building to folks causing CONgress and spents to even remotely entertain impeaching a sitting president that has 12 days left to go. Perhaps it is all a part of the narrative they are trying to create regarding the evil Don. It is not enough they cheated outright. It is not enough that they have wiped their asses with our Constitution. It is not enough that they foiled most of his moves. They still need to “teach him a lesson” about not going along with the pogrom (yes, pogrom) even though he did some of the fraud on the people towards the end with the scamdemic.
