I have no evidence that this will work for anyone other than myself, but I offer it as an alternative because it does work for me.
Be the example you wish someone would set. If you disapprove of some behavior or belief, then cut it out of your own life first. Against processed foods from Big Ag? Stop eating it. Hate lying phonies? Tell the truth and be yourself however humble and inconsequential that may be. Dislike the cancel culture and the rising Stasi state?
Stop talking about your opponents and railing against their words and actions, rather eschew all forms of gossip and mendacity. Exhausted by the alienation of a population divided by the plandemic? Be friendly to strangers, stop and help when you know someone needs it, expect nothing in return.
I know it feels like you’re on your own right now, but the truth is that you always have been. Those people in the halls of government have only as much impact on your life as you are willing to concede to them. Stop worrying about what they will do and start focusing on what you can do. Learn, then teach. Feed yourself first, then feed someone else with your surplus.
Learn to shrug off what you cannot control and how to master the skills that are present in your own life. Every time a statue comes down of someone who helped build this country, erect a shrine to them in your heart and recount their accomplishments and deeds to the youngsters in your orbit whenever an opportunity presents itself. Tired of incivility? Be gracious and polite. Disgusted by the obese monsters that scrawl on their own bodies to deface themselves? Treat your own like the temple it is.
There is far more that you can do than what they prohibit. Focus on that.

I think this is the best advice I’ve heard for some time. I think we all should consider how we can be lights instead of wet blankets. It will be a lot easier if we let go of our fears, and stop projecting on all the bad things that might happen.

Everything HSF said is great advice, and I endorse it fully. I would add – not so much as an alternative but a corollary – watching Rockford Files, maybe even a little Hogan’s Heroes, eating frozen pizza and drinking liquor. Cook the pizza first.
Make your own pizza and drink the liquor throughout.

Thanks for this ray of hope HSF and your suggestions of positive ways forward. It’s very hard right now to see a good outcome for our world. Up here in the Great White North, we’re currently living in a police state and as I gaze south, I fear the last light of liberty for the free world is being extinguished before our eyes.

It’s a constant struggle for me to try and do the things you suggest, but there is no questioning that they are the right and really only way forward.

If you don’t mind my saying so, that is probably the best comment(s) I’ve read today. Wishing and hoping are kinda out of season right now. Past may be prologue, but for me it is better to eat that cold dish todo solo.
Dying on hills and drawing lines in the sand are in accordance with the individual. Loose cows may be a pain for their brazenness but can end up being braised if too obvious.
One of my own techniques is something I call my touchstone. It’s a mental thing I can use to help me focus quickly.

Ya know there’s a difference between rolling over and giving up or, resisting but being smart enough to fly under the radar and not walk around with a target on your back. Lest you’re a proponent of banging your heads against a brick wall and wondering why you’ve got a F’ng headache. You can be a dead rebel or a living resistor. Living tends to get more bang for the buck. If it comes to getting sent to a camp then it’s time to fight to the death. But drawing attention to one’s self for no other reason than to be a Jabroni when it means or changes nothing isn’t very smart.

I just lost a friend today. He (military guy 41 years old) and my 21 year old
daughter were talking and they both agreed that Biden should make getting the
vaccine mandatory. I asked him…”Didn’t you just spend the last 20 years defending
freedom?” His cog dis sent him into a hyperbolic seizure. He did what the left
always does…end communication and cancel friendships. I told him I don’t worship
the military, I worship God.
What should I have done/said instead?
I probably wouldn’t have done any differently. Recently, I lost two “friends” like the one you described over a discussion. Looking at it now, I realize that “friends” who are so easily lost weren’t really friends anyway.
Good thing that those two exposed themselves before I needed them. Now I know who not to depend on, y’know?
