Thanks to provocative moves by Iran, President Biden is facing an increasingly uncertain situation when it comes to Iran, which has been America’s nemesis since the 1970s when they called the US the Great Satin. They have been pushing much of the Middle East’s instability for decades. The military in the last days of Trump dispatched B-52 bombers to the Persian Gulf in response to an alleged Iranian attack plan and reversed an order to bring home the USS Nimitz, the only US aircraft carrier in the region.
Iran has not only announced that it had resumed advanced uranium enrichment in violation of the 2015 nuclear deal, but they also seized a South Korean-flagged oil tanker and its crew. These actions coming just two weeks before President Biden’s inauguration seems to be playing out the reverse strategy of 1980. Back then, they held the American hostages captured from the embassy under Jimmy Carter and they suddenly released everyone when Ronald Reagan took office. This time it was Trump who was anti-war so the tensions rose now with Biden.
This time Iran has covert support of China and Russia and it may be simply a proxy to unleash war in the Middle East, which the US defense industry will certainly welcome after the four years of austerity under Trump.

Iran as a nation and very historic people have their own goals and agendas. It may surprise some but it doesn’t have to be about the US, Israel or anything else– it could simply be the Persian’s desire to return to their former place of preeminence in the world.
The military ability, to pose enough of a threat to bully nations who dictate to them ( financially and militarily) seems like a wonderful motive for a nation.

I took Persian Farsi in foreign language school (DLI Monterey) and learned a lot about Iran and its history. You might be surprised how much influence they had for a long time.
Iran’s rulers have all been of the same bloodline since around 1200 A.D. The current Supreme Leader of Iran is Ali Khamenei. Khamenei means “from Khamaneh,” a town in the Azerbaijan province of Iran, in the northwest. If you haven’t looked at a map of the Middle East recently, this is the area of Iran that borders Armenia. Khamaneh is only 80 miles south of the Armenian border. Why is that important?
(Let me stop here and say I mention the following only because it is relevant, and I am in no way casting dispersions upon any races. This is not me being a Joo hater. Back to the show: )

Let’s go back in time to the Safavid Dynasty, which lasted from 1501 to 1722 and encompassed what is now Iran, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and parts of the North Caucasus, Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria, and beyond. This dynasty began with Ismail I, Shah of Iran.
Ismail’s grandmother was Theodora Komnene, daughter of John IV Komnenos, Emperor of Trebizond. Theodora’s mother was Princess Bagrationi, daughter of Alexander I of Georgia, from the powerful House of Bagration. The Bagrations were Jewish, claiming direct descent from King David of the Bible. This lends more evidence to the fact that the Komnenes were Jewish, as they married into another Jewish dynasty. In any case, this means the Komnene family was ruling Iran all the way up to 1722 at the end of the Safavid dynasty.
Who ruled after that? The Safavid rule ended when Pashtun rebels besieged the capital city of Isfahan and defeated Sultan Husayn, the “last” Safavid (Komnene) ruler. After a series of military skirmishes and tug-of-wars, Iran fell into the hands of Karim Khan Zand, forming the short-lived Zand dynasty.
Karim’s wife was Jewish, and the Zands appointed a Jew as governor of Shiraz.
I will stop here. I pointed out the Jewish connection with Iran for a point, which I hope I have made. That point is, Iran and Israel are not enemies, they puff up at each other, but it’s always US who ends up doing all the fighting. They’re the same people, just on different sides of the sandbox.
The Komninos family were greek speaking orthodox christian roman/byzantine gentry from the theme of paphlagonia (the modern city of ‘kastamonu’ in the turkish state is a pidgin mispronunciation of the older name of the town in greek ‘kastro komninon’ which means ‘castle of the komneni’) which rose to wealth and prominence and ultimately the throne starting in the 9th century. by the mid 11th century they had generals and provincial governors in the family for some generations and managed to get one of theirs, isakios (isaac) on the throne for a few years in 1057. A generation later they founded a dynasty lasting from 1081 until the siege and fall of the City to the crusaders in 1204. another isaac komninos was deposed and executed for his incompetence and participation in the betrayal of the city to the crusader army (incidentally the last recorded official act of the Roman Senate (transplanted to constantinople in 330 by constantine, though a senatus urbis remained as the traditional upper class body in the city of rome) was the election of nikolaos kannavos as the new emperor in 1204. He refused the honor and Alexios Doukas was made emperor instead.
A branch of the Komninos family indeed ruled in trebizond for another two and a half centuries as a regional kingdom and indeed had more connections and intermingling with armenian, georgian, and other important families of the region. There are many other komneni further west who are not related to that branch unless one goes back a couple more centuries. Some of the 12th century ruling dynasty intermarried with western ruling class families as well, but by then byzantium’s sinking power meant that such marriages were more and more widely spread around. One son of a high ranking official isaak komninos , brother of the emperor john komninos (and brother of the future emperor andronikos), in 1139, actually after a conflict where he was briefly arrested on suspicions of attempting usurpation, on his release feared further repercussions and fled to the seljuk turkish kingdom in ikonion, married the seljuk ruler’s daughter, and was known as ioannis komninos tzelepis, the final term being an honorific in the seljuk kingdom!
that fellow tzelepis and his brother the emperor andronikos were the sons of a komninos father and a georgian mother Eirini Bagratidou!
Even more remarkable, the osmanli dynasty was descended from… the very same fellow! john komninos tzelepis had a son koutalmis, who had a son suleiman shah, the father of ertogrul, the father of osman, the founder of the ottoman dynasty!
