Again the fundamental problem with having NO PRINCIPLES. Bash libertarians all you want, but the principles are sound, consistent, and when applied correctly, leave no issue unsettled. This stupid woman, like so many other dysfunctional liberals and conservatives, likely cannot rectify the massive conflicts that exist within her own belief system. She has a problem with too much government power for THIS, but somehow is fine with too much government power for something else……as if the monster can be contained to only the areas you desire results. Same with believing you can have a massive military apparatus to wage war overseas while believing that same out of control monster won’t want to set up shop on your own shores in another governmental form. Can’t be done. We obviously have never heard any of this before because CNN and the like most certainly would NEVER air her viewpoints, and she has pissed off and on so many on the right with her other nonsensical stands on everything else that they would never listen to her either.
There is ALWAYS ONLY ONE COMMON DENOMINATOR in every major problem we face, ever instance of oppression we deal with, etc. – GOVERNMENT. May those on the left and the right finally figure that out.

I tend to disagree.
Of course, you would first need to state your definition of ‘libertarian’, before we could discuss the details.
But I had tried many times to ask libertarians or anarchists, if they also would throw out the Rule of Law – which can only exist with a somewhat centralized enforcement. Never got a straight answer on that one.
The problem I see -and only after I got wise enough to see it-, is that the whole libertarian thingamajig ignores the fact that you atomize the individuals. It only looks at half the picture of existential issues. But for problems of a certain size you need people working together. There’s no provision for that in libertarianism, except pure chance that you find a bunch of people who completely agree with you, at least on the issue you’re trying to address. Read Houllebecq’s “The Elementary Particles” to see a beautiful libertarian society in all it’s horror.
