A collaboration of: “The Classic Music Mafia”
nkit, Austrian Peter, and Steve C.
Every Sunday morning we present selections for our TBP family to enjoy.
We present symphonies, ensembles, quartets, octets, etc.
Not all of our music is strictly ‘classical’. We may stray a little, but we strive to make all of our selections ‘classy’.
We offer tips on proper ‘symphony etiquette’ and even some selections that are a bit light-hearted and fun aimed at a younger audience. Those pieces will be so designated, and might be a good way to introduce kids to a world of music that they might not have been exposed to or think of as old and ‘stuffy’.
A full symphony will run as long as it will. We don’t want to cut a symphony short. However, we also include some shorter pieces that we try to keep under fifteen minutes in length. You can sample each and hopefully find one or more that pleases you.
We hope that you enjoy our Sunday selections.
Stravinsky: The Firebird / Gergiev · Vienna Philarmonic · Salzburg Festival 2000

The next three come to from Stucky
Got 3 selections today (13 minutes total) from one person. This is what they say …
“Internationally-acclaimed guitar virtuoso Trace Bundy shares his musical artistry with us ….. his music must be seen to be believed, using harmonics, looping, and multiple capos to confound even the most accomplished music lovers as to how one person can do all that with just two hands and ten fingers.”
Dueling Ninjas
Trace Bundy playing “Dueling Ninjas” on acoustic guitar.
Pachelbel’s Canon
Trace Bundy playing Canon with a little twist of his own on an acoustic guitar.

Today, I want to introduce to you (if you are not already aware of them) The Film Symphony Orchestra (FSO). I find them as enjoyable to watch as they are to listen to. They are meticulous in every aspect of their presentations. Much can be learned about the orchestra just by watching. The cinematography in their videos (where the venue allows it) is top notch.
The Film Symphony Orchestra is a ground-breaking artistic project which was founded to address a gap in the musical and cultural industry in Spain.
This elite, professional symphony orchestra is made up of more than 70 musicians, exclusively dedicated to music for cinema and related art forms. Led by the internationally acclaimed composer and conductor Constantino Martínez-Orts, the FSO performs a rich program of film music concerts, sometimes accompanied by visual projections.
With cinema always at its core, and with a consistent preoccupation for quality, Film Symphony Orchestra launches a singular, innovative initiative which aims to bring symphonic music to a wide audience, uniting culture, art and spectacle under the umbrella of one unique experience.
We might as well get this started in typical cinema style.

It is a beautiful piece of music..Glad that you liked it, sir.
Talent like this comes along only once in a lifetime.

I want to note here that the day after tomorrow (7-6) marks the one year anniversary of the passing of the great Maestro, Ennio Morricone. He was truly one of my favorite composers ever. We have featured him here on SMC numerous times over the last 1.5 years. I have posted so many of his film scores, including all of his spaghetti westerns, to The Mission. If you listen to his music on YouTube and read the comments it is apparent the the man was dearly loved all over the world – in all languages. What greater legacy can a man have? RIP Ennio.
Very nice Mygirl.
We will use it and credit you for it…
Great stuff as usual. Loved the guitarist especially his rendition of hallelujah
Thanks for the shares and introducing FSO. Gabriel’s Oboe is beautiful, in particular.
Glad that you liked it Ma’am. FSO submission #2 is in the mix already..They are awesome, imo. Thank you for listening and commenting…
