I went to Berlin, just to be there. My conscience is my master, so I had to. In Germany, demonstrations have to be registered ahead of time, but this one was forbidden by the courts because they expected that the Corona rules would not be obeyed. Mind you, 2 weeks ago, 80K people “celebrated” Christopher Street Day in Berlin, mostly without masks and distance, and the police did nothing.
Yesterday, the police was very effective in setting up barriers to prevent people to march anywhere and to separate smaller groups from each other. The barriers are composed of the police officers themselves forming a line. A kind of a cat and mouse game ensued where people ran around police, tried to push through etc, which was met with just shoving in some places, but also with more aggressive police brutality elsewhere. They seem to have no concern for the age and frailty of the people they push and hit.
I have no idea how many people were there, since there was no place where we congregated. Rather, the whole city was full of individuals and small groups walking on the streets. Was it a success? I am not sure, but it doesn´t matter to me today. I was there, I did what I could. What else can we do right now?
Here is a video of a police officer choking and pushing an older lady. The brutality is astonishing. This woman is no threat and could be the guy´s mother or grandmother. If she had fallen in an unfortunate way on the back of her head, she could be in a coma or dead.
Some day, someone is going to get killed, which is when the gloves will really come off. Right now, the crowd is still somewhat surprised and full of disbelief at what the police is capable of doing. They are unorganized and polite. When despair reaches a critical point, things will turn violent on both sides.
Oh, and the media are reporting it as a few irresponsible retards who put all of us in danger because they are anti-vaxxers. No surprise there.

This just in: A 49 year old man has died during the protests in Berlin. He had broken through a police barricade and was arrested briefly in order to record his identity.
From the reports, it was not clear to me if he died while in police custody or later. An autopsy has been ordered. Until proven otherwise, it is wise to give them the benefit of the doubt and consider that the death may well have been unrelated to anything the police has done (my personal opinion).
But the police action caught on tape shows a disregard for bodily injury and an inappropriate amount of force used.
What police everywhere fail to realize is that there are a hell of a lot more of us than them and weapons don’t mean a damn thing when the numbers are overwhelming.
