My last post from South Dakota, we head home tomorrow. I know what all of you leches have really been wanting so here it is. Let’s just say if you want to see lots of young pretty girls the rally is not the place to do it. Yep there are a few, mainly working at the bars. Most of the biker crowd is 50 years plus. Not to say there are not some pretty older ladies. I believe there’s an old country song that says that “Older ladies, make beautiful lovers”.

Who is that women?
71 years old here. For whatever reason I prefer women over 50 and up.
My guess is I’m in the majority and old guys who leche after young women are a minority.

The way I see it, there’s a dearth of younger people both attending Sturgis and riding Harleys overall.
I just turned 56, have been riding for over 40 years, (the first 5 was on dirt bikes and small street bikes/Enduros), and that’s where the dichotomy lies.
I have hit Sturgis 6 times with my wife (of 38 years) and bikes over the years, (plus a couple of times “out of season” in a vehicle during Passage East/West), [Last year was on the trip from Seattle to New Jersey in October to pick up a brew system in the Suburban], but overall, I think that we’re just seeing an increase of age overall in those who are attending.
I agree that the “Babes” we saw there in the years of yore are getting “older”, but I believe it’s more of a case of the younger generations lack of interest, from both sexes, than just a bunch of Old Hags attending the rally.
My wife was an absolute GODDESS the first couple of times we went, but just like us men has suffered from the affliction of Age and Gravity that ALL Folks can expect.
It’s just a lack of “Replacement” by our younger generations……

Much of the younger crowd of bikers prefer sport bikes. The Harleys priced out the incoming market and captured the demographic of “wish I had done this when I was younger”, and will ing to dump some loot to get a Harley. So the price goes up.
The younger crowd generally aren’t interested in a bike that tops at 125 off the showroom floor, and if they had to have a V-twin that moved, they’d get a Buell (spendy proposition there also).
Japanese 4s are bulletproof, high-revving engines that deliver a top speed in the upper triple digits that you see the maniacs on Youtube self-vidding. I have a 1981 GS-1100E that will push my 185 lbs. to 160mph. Ran a pretty steady 155 across Montana last time I went.
Basically, Harley priced out the “replacement” crowd.
I bought a Harley at an auction in KS. Didn’t like it at all, sold it right away. Returned to my 900 Ninja. Put 110 000 miles on it before I sold it.

The current land speed record for a motorcycle is 394 mph, so clearly 999 mph would be my comment misconstrued.
Furthermore, I would contend that those who are following me (Generalationally speaking), don’t have the Disposable Income that my or my predecessors have available.
For Fuck’s Sake, my youngest son, (who is a CNC Machinist AND Programmer), couldn’t afford his own bike, so I gave him my ’03 Softail.
He and his wife made it last year, but she was due, and delivered, at the end of July this year, so they didn’t go this time.

No, Sturgis wasn’t the place to find lovely young ladies.
When I went, most were either burned out old bikers or new money that trailered their Harleys in enclosed trailers.
While I camped on the side of the freeway, they glamped in the lots set aside for them.
They showed up with the wives and kids (wearing the obligatory, if miniature, black leather jackets with a Harley logo on the back).
It was like Disneyland.
It reminded me of the closing scene of Casino.
Then there were the old timers mentioned above.
Time had clearly not been their friend. Such is life.
So off I went to spend my time in Deadwood (just down the road a ways).
I spent my evenings with beautiful young ladies at the (Buffalo) Stockade Saloon.
That’s where the younger crowd was to be found.
I’m still not old enough for a Harley, so I stick with the saki-suckers and sport bikes.

My buddy and his girlfriend went a few years back and he has some great pics of all sorts of folks(including a lot of young folks).I will try and dig up the shots and put them up.I will say was years back when Motley Crue played the chip(a lot of photos from that)but anyhow,younger folks do still go to Sturgis/Daytona/Laconia ect.I aint no spring chicken but can reconize younger folks/my eyesite is not (yet)that shot!I will admit I am liking scopes vrs.iron sites a lot more the last few years!
Women at most ages can be beautiful. By and large it’s about presentation.
And having realistic definitions of true beauty. The shit like SI and there swimsuit issue, those women are hot and beautiful to those pics are doctored way more than any of us would ever think.
