Hump Day Tuneage

by the subway philosopher™

On occasion, celebrating the midweek hump with a meticulously curated selection of the most disrespectful, impolite, disgraceful, badass, head-banging, disturbing, irreverent, rebellious, or most enjoyable rock n roll of its time feels like a perfectly responsible thing to do, for some reason. Or no reason at all. Crank it up!

Why do you hate jazz (or rock, classical, country, etc.)? Italian physicist turned philosopher guitar theoretician Tommaso Zillio explains the importance of  a balanced musical diet. In honor of Dr. Z’s hypothesis, HDT herewith presents a judiciously nutritious menu… of rock n roll, naturally.

Come on, baby. Chubby Checker -The Twist

The place that’s the best. Norman Greenbaum – Spirit In The Sky

A shallow grave. HAUNT YOU – Kings Of The Sun

Passion crime. BEAST IN BLACK – From Hell With Love

Madness reigns. Savatage – Hall Of The Mountain King

Thank you for the mix. Music soothes the soul. He says it best in the first 30 seconds.

What can I say, the 80’s were a great decade for rock n roll. Balanced, nutritious, and tasty too!

I get a tremendous kick out of these reaction videos. As a longtime fan of The Yes Album, I especially liked this one.

While they seem to enjoy it really do not need a few opinions on whether Yes and Starship Trooper has merit, the song rocks when needed and rolls when it rolls, awesome playing all across the board!!

Yes was a great band and am so glad among 100’s of other shows during the 70’s got to see them in their prime!

That said ,the video of the young lady who plays the flute reactions to Tull pretty good and the other young lady who is a vocalist and her reactions to Maiden” Bruce singing not bad.

That said, the fact that they are both easy on the eyes not a detriment!

Tame indeed! In today’s world, its not so much “The Less I know the Better” it’s more like “The More I see, the Less I believe” More true today than 40 years ago when Discharge wrote this
