Ignoring the fact that propane is still spewing out into the air from that tank in the water – highly irresponsible.
Having fought nat gas fires in training, I can tell you that you cannot easily put those fires out. The best you can do is spray water on it to knock the flames down and cool the tank/pipes while you fumble for the valve and hope it shuts it down. So I’m going to go with brave and quick thinking.
Oh, the other thing – when you get a break with some pressure behind it those things roar like banshees. Very exciting.
