After Canadian police gave truckers demonstrating as part of the “Freedom Convoy 2022” protest an ultimatum to stop blocking the Canada-Montana border or be arrested, the grassroots group of working-class Canadians said they’d rather be hauled off in handcuffs than submit.In videos uploaded online by Rebel News videographer Kian Simone, protesters can be seen asking to open up a line of communication between them and senior police officials.
However, police representatives sent to negotiate told them, “If you do not wish to have your truck impounded and be arrested, you are being given the option to move out to your vehicle and leave. Once we start enforcement action, people will be arrested, trucks will be impounded and seized.”
Truckers were given a grace period to move their trucks, and those who don’t will allegedly be arrested.

Eventually, the entire group of truckers walked all the way to the end of their blockade to try and talk with the police themselves.
As they stood at the end of the blockade, the demonstrators loudly chanted, “Freedom!” before singing the Canadian national anthem.
At the other end of the blockade, police formed a line.
As soon as the group of protesters made its way to the end of the blockade where the police were, the RCMP immediately fled.
When the police left, truckers and farmers moved more equipment into the spaces officers were occupying before retreating.
Lawyer for the truckers Chad Williamson provided an update after police left, asking if law enforcement returns, “How the heck are they going to move these hundreds of rigs and pieces of agricultural, farm equipment, passenger vehicles? This is a problem that seems to be spreading across the country with other blockades in other locations. And while the RCMP have shut down negotiations with my team, we think it would be incumbent upon them to come back to the negotiation table.”
After reports that the police are mobilizing nearby, demonstrators began moving more vehicles to block other possible entries to the blockade at the border.

saskachewan just ended all restrictions. If the truckers wanted to cross the line they could easily do so there… but why would they??? It would defeat the purpose of the protest.

Apparently most of the towing companies in Ottawa are refusing to tow the big rigs. They’re saying they don’t have the staff – on account of the covids.
Of course they don’t have the staff. Orders of magnitude higher than their usual numbers, I’m sure.
That’s a big part of the game theory. Arrest the truckers–a very big job with very low incentives for police to make those arrests–and the trucks remain.
Is it possible to even tow tens of thousands of semis? I guess if you had a few months to do it …..maybe. Other truckers would replace new trucks for those towed away. Not a viable plan. 🙂 “WINNING”

As for even thinking of asking another trucker to haul a truckers truck away… They are truckers, not back stabbing traitorous politicals. So that ain’t gonna happen. Then theres the question of how do you keep that spot from filling immediately with another truck?!?!?

The SCOTUS decision against the OSHA mandate let off some of the pressure in the US. Canada’s oppression has been unbelievable for months. You can’t get on a plane in Canada without proof of vaccination. Or even a train. That’s not the cased here (yet). Imagine if you live in Vancouver and your daughter is in college in Nova Scotia. If something happened to her and you had to go to her, you’d have a 4 day drive.
Any way you look at it, these Canadian truckers have HUGE fucking balls, and I stand in awe of them. If the OSHA thing had gone the other way, I would have probably been able to keep my job on account of the fact that I never go into the physical location, but I would have quit rather than bend. Some of these Canadian truckers are likely to do time in jail/prison – even if that fag prime minister buckles. They’ll make an example of the organizers.

ps. I tried it as a first resort. When you’re the only guy on the front line and you enjoy a couple of days in solitary, you start to pick your battles with a more discerning eye.

As bad as our (and Australian and Canadian) politicians/police/courts can be, we at least don’t ‘really’ fear being shot out of hand or put in solitary for a few years pre-trial (like you, legitimately, and with numerous experiences of exactly that, do). Oh, they can make life ‘uncomfortable’ here but they’re outnumbered (and on the wrong side) and they know it.
You aren’t (despite the constant claims), and haven’t been for a long time, ‘one people’. Not the way British, Canadians (well maybe not Quebec) and Australians still are. (Their metropolitan and rural people could be exchanged almost without notice, whereas ‘flyover’ Americans have more in common with those Brits, Aussies and Canucks than their own ‘citified’ types. And that’s not even considering the many and disparate, ‘communities’ now making up much of America).
To protest (en masse) requires ‘trust’, and whilst certain sections of America have the highest trust found anywhere, overall there really doesn’t exits much any-more – the divisions (political, cultural, religious, racial) are too extreme, blatant, insurmountable. (The most rabid Labour supporter in Britain is a blood-brother to a Conservative compared to the utter hate displayed, daily, by the average Democrat to Republicans there).
Just as you don’t see a ‘Europe wide’ protest, I don’t think you’ll see a ‘national’ protest there. States, yes (and probably already have) but expecting more is (I fear) a pipe-dream.
