I can’t think of any power I wish I had, but one power I don’t have is to pun. I can’t pun to save my life. I barely even comprehend puns. My brain just doesn’t work that way. I fucking hate puns, and I’m not real fond of punsters. It’s the lowest form of wit. Or the highest and I’m jealous.
I can sympathize Iska. I used to hate hurdles, but I’m over them now.

I think it’s learned as my dad was a great pun-er and my sister and I do it all of the time. My husband has caught on after many years and he’s no dummy.
Singing. I do sing. But probably shouldn’t. If you’re trapped in the car with me you just have to suffer through it.
At school, AA, they would bribe me to stop trying to sing in church (I boarded, so no choice). I have not one iota of singing ability and dislike most of it especially bloody opera (screaming), modern pop (screaming). I do like most jazz, boogie, big band and much of country – it all has heart IMHO.
Yeah, you gotta belt it out when you’re feelin’ it, right?

The ability to get things done without procrastinating. Seriously, how do people not procrastinate? It’s just not in my nature to do things right away.

Me too – I have loads of jobs listed on my PC. I make a lot of lists then play at TBP! In Cape Town they have an expression: “Cape Time”. It’s about 3x slower than Mañana. When talking about ‘morning’, mañana is a noun that refers to a part of the day. ‘Mañana’ as a synonym of ‘tomorrow’ is an adverb of time and expresses that an action is going to take place the day after today.
So you see, CT is veeeeery slow!

Here in the American South, there is this implied “when we get around to it” in just about everything (that isn’t hunting or fishing). I am not going to complain, because it suits me fine. I think it has as much to do with the weather, to tell the truth. It is hard to make promises around the Arkansas rollercoaster.
I agree Ken31 – you are so right – it is to do with the sun and warm, comfortable lazy days. Ah, I remember them well and hope soon to return to them when my Part 2 mission is complete ETD Q1 2023.
I have often considered that maybe this is why the hotter countries never really invented anything significant and world changing.
I vote for washing machines and Fairy Liquid as being two of the most indispensable items that generally took my mother 2.5 days of hard work each week to complete with a fire-fuelled ‘copper’, a mangle and drying everything around the range in the kitchen on a ‘clothes horse’.
I was your 1st up vote. I was 15 when it came out, belted it out at the top of my lungs, loved the Kinks. Paradise lost, El Cajon, Ca. 1966. Back when it was the golden State. Learned procrastination sunny southern Kaulyforia.
Brilliant Tree Mike, my favourites too – I have lots on file and pick them to suit the occasion! Ah the 60s – those were the days especially in Kali. Here in UK it was a little more subdued, British reserve and all that. We did have our dose of Flower-Power and Peace Rallies.

My yacht was called “DO-IT-NOW” – that’s how you cure procrastination. In my computer company in the 1980s – 90s I had a sign with this above my desk. Computer programmers are the worst procrastinators.

After about 3 months my piano teacher told me that I was wasting my parents’ money and her time, so dropped me as a student. One of the happier days of my life.
My mother gave up on me at age 6 because I wanted to ‘boogie’ – it was very big in the 40s – before I knew the scales! That’s me – jump in where angels fear to tread.
Although there are many variations, the basic boogie-woogie bass pattern is a two-bar pattern using quarter notes. The bassline ascends and then descends strongly outlining the notes of each dominant 7th chord in the blues progression.
I practiced the violin as a kid. I must have been pretty good, ’cause the neighbors would throw rocks through the windows so they could hear me better.
