I know about the coach and his praying. It’s different than “teachers leading their students in prayer”. The ruling is simply that he has a right to practice his faith on public school grounds. In the first place, the Roe V. Wade decision has not abolished abortion, it has returned the decisions of lawful legislation to the various States and to the people. It is now up to the people of the various States to voice their choices.
The Supremes decision in DOBBS v. JACKSON WOMEN’S HEALTH ORGANIZATION, CERTIORARI TO THE UNITED STATES COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE FIFTH CIRCUIT is 213 pages available in pdf, and I’ve only read a small portion so far. It is not an easy read, however, I intend to read the entire document. For many aborting a fetus is a moral issue, not a legal one. For many others, it is a “my body, my choice’ issue. We all should be aware that any choice or decision to act has consequences, sometimes good, other times not so good. How often have you heard, “I don’t deserve this, or I deserve this.”? No one is deserving of anything, you reap what you sow. Free will…one either believes in it or believes that some other entity(s) (i.e. God or governments or funded organizations) is in charge.
So, what are the solutions to the dilemma? Beats me. Laws will be passed for sure. Something like abortion is not permitted, permitted with limitations, or permitted with no limitations. For me, the preferred laws would permit abortions with the consent of a private person and a qualified doctor. Funded by private individuals not associated with governmental monies, corporations, forced insurance (separate riders excepted), WHO, and limited to a modest annual amount. Doctors and clinics cannot be forced to perform such abortions against their will. While I think such a compromise between bitter and opposite views would preserve our free will, not gonna happen.
Sounds reasonable so, hahaha ha, of course it won’t happen.
