Oh, Irony! Buttigieg Is Angry That Employees Aren’t Coming To Work At Airlines

Via The Blue State Conservative

by Jess Lawson

From the category of “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up” comes this story from over the weekend. Admit it, watching poetic justice hit a pompous Biden Administration official squarely in the face can’t help but make you smile.

Airlines across the country, like just about every other industry in America, have been struggling for over a year now to properly staff their operations. They just can’t get enough people to come work for them, and with the employees that they have hired, they’re experiencing high levels of absenteeism. And there are several reasons why.

We have the Biden Administration’s “American Rescue Plan” which provided handouts to millions of would-be workers and paid them for doing nothing. Then there was the repeated extension of unemployment benefits by Mr. Biden, which incentivized workers to just stay home. And of course, we have the ridiculously high price of gas which makes it much more expensive for an employee to get to work.

All these issues and more have resulted in the wage-price-spiral that we see today. Inflation is skyrocketing because employers must pay employees more to come work for them. But then that additional money employees have is worth less because of high prices. In addition to inflation, the other problem we see is a deterioration in quality, particularly in the service industries such as transportation. And that reality hit home this past weekend with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

According to the Daily Mail:

“Transport Secretary Pete Buttigieg got a taste of summer travel misery hitting millions of Americans after his flight from DC to NYC was canceled after a crisis summit with airlines.

‘That is happening to a lot of people, and that is exactly why we are paying close attention here to what can be done and how to make sure that the airlines are delivering,’ Buttigieg said Saturday, after driving from the capital to the Big Apple.

Saturday saw a total of 856 flights canceled across the US, with 5,997 flights within, into or out of the US delayed, according to FlightAware.”

So, follow the irony. Buttigieg holds a “crisis summit” with various airline representatives to discuss the increasing number of flight cancelations due to staffing shortages, and then his own flight gets canceled. Delightful.

But in addition to the other, aforementioned factors driving America’s labor shortage, including the wage-price-spiral, we also have this undeniable reality: Biden, Buttigieg, and the Democrats embrace laziness. They think it’s great when folks get to sit on their ass. Unemployment benefits? Sure, stay out as long as you need. You’re running out of money? Don’t sweat it, here’s a check.

Buttigieg, you may remember, was caught sitting on his ass for two months last year when we learned that during the supply chain crisis – a challenge that continues today – Mr. Buttigieg decided to take off from work for two months for paternity leave after he and his husband adopted two babies. Two months!

So, the moral of the story is this. Secretary Pete “Mayor Pete” Buttigieg is fully on board with people sitting on their butts… provided that person is himself. Don’t worry, Democrats, you’re doing just great, and there’s nothing wrong with your messaging to the American people.

i wish buttifag got on a plane with 2 bioweaponed pilots who had strokes and heart attacks mid flight.

this article is retarded. who would stay home on unemployment? it pays nothing. in georgia it has been 330 dollars per week maximum for more than a dozen years. you would starve to death on it, and it only lasts for a few weeks.

Really. Workmen’s Comp…Way to go! Can’t remember the details exactly. Heck of a LOT of hrs., ‘timing’ couldn’t have been more perfect if planned. It wasn’t, was there. Ended up having to drive to the mechanics bldg. in a different town/middle of the night to get a creeper to get the poor guy out of the pipe chase, fractured vertebrae, long story)…Think most recent financial quarter was what it was based on. ‘Paid out’ 7 days a week.

‘Cost’ the guy a 2-3? hundred per pay…to come ‘Back’ to work. No pun intended. 30+ yrs. ago.

Max in Washington State is $783/week. Add that $600/week Fed Stimmie, and you’ll understand why an ASSLOAD of Freeloaders in the Seattle Area spent over a year sitting around makin’ $72k to Masturbate Furiously and play Call Of Duty……. And we’re STILL having a Labor Shortage.

Wonder why????

Hell, we’re having problems fully crewing up our boats with processors, and their position pays roughly $85k a year for 6 months of work, and then get their max Unemployment while they’re off rotation. We’re about 25% short, so some guys are working extra, (which no-one really wants to), to try to keep the boat running. Some of the companies, including ours, are advertising with a $5,000 signing bonus, in addition to medical insurance and a 5% 401k match…….

this is excellent information. i knew that some northeastern states were generous in unemployment but had no idea that it could go as high as 35-40,000 per year. but again, if you are at the maximum, you were probably making 6 figures per year, or close thereto, and not the type to sit on your butt collecting checks because you could not maintain your lifestyle at only 40k per year.

i have no idea how the stimulus checks work. everyone asked me if i got my check, but i never qualified. and i’m sorry but a one or time stimulus check isn’t going to help me with much.

85k for 6 months work is good. if i could stand to live in communist bioterrorist state i could be tempted. 😮

Plenty. A 20 year old kid I know was out of work during covid and received 600$ per week. He wanted to get a job and his parents *edit* (told) him to milk the 600$ until it stopped. It’s that mentality.

My (now) ex’s son was clearing $3,000 a month between state and fed benefits! He was the dumbest mf I ever knew and was a rent a cop before being laid off and collecting ui. This doesn’t include the extra earned income credit his gf was receiving of $300 a month per child for for 3 kids totaling $900 per month! Here’s the kicker. They actually took a vacation from sitting on their asses to the beach. Wanna now why prices are climbing. Multiply this by millions. I could see the pain in those “essential” workers’ faces knowing they’re stuck working for a measly wage while their friends and family were collecting those huge checks.

I understand he called Nancy Pelosi, and she told him, “Don’t you have a dedicated Air Force G5 to take you back and forth?”

Who put the “trans” in transportation?

Auntie doesn’t know about the Dept of Transportation but they are way ahead of the game at Dept of Hellth and Human Services:

Who woulda thunk that a lot of people are lazy? Especially when you make all kinds of free shit available to them, give them SS and Medicare in excess of what they have saved as a reward for being irresponsible through their lives, and then compound the issues by taxing and regulating the ever living shit out of the most productive folks and small businesspeople(nice incentive there, right?).

Know what the cure for lazy is? Hunger.

Oh, and I just had this as an idea. Know how they increase taxes as you earn more? Like every other damn thing they touch, they have it ass backwards. They should start the taxes high like at 30%, then DECREASE them as you make more. That would add huge incentive to earn and produce more, instead of the disincentive that exists under the current system. Can you imagine the screaming and wailing from the left if that is proposed? But it would work.

Apologies if I missed this. What are your thoughts on a flat tax? Illinois seems to love that idea. Thanks llpoh

Flat tax is far better than what currently exists, and it doesn’t disincentivise making more, which the current system does. But income tax is still theft. The nation existed just fine without it. And could do so again – so long as people understand they are personally responsible for their actions.

Still have contacts from 30 yrs. ago when living in W-S, where Piedmont Airlines was HQed. Many crew staff of what is now AA can’t pass the physical due to The Jab and are on disability.

Hahaha. One example of when the rules are for thee didn’t work. Maybe butt plug isn’t that important after all. The bad part is that we had to pay for the gas he used to drive, in addition to what we pay for ours.

Homosexuality is still a mental illness. Buttigieg should be in treatment and not director of anything more pressing than his own personal hygiene, which due to the nature of the beast, is sorely lacking. This simple fact is irrefutable evidence that the US government is now administered by the insane.

Not sure about homosexuality being a mental illness in its truest form. But trans, absolutely. Homosexuality has been around a long time, but at a very low percentage of the pop. But there are efforts afoot to normalise it, or even make it a fad.
