Its amazing how everyone is focused on DUI testing for cannabis use as a justification for continuing the immoral war on drugs/freedom. Nobody wants to deal with the fact that what we have today is beyond reprehensible. You are either driving poorly and endangering others, or you are not. Plenty of folks with ZERO drugs in their system should be taken off the roads for their lack of driving ability. Plenty of folks taking “legal” prescription drugs cannot drive safely while taking them. Plenty of people with higher than the every-lowering alcohol limits in their system drive perfectly fine, and plenty under the influence of cannabis do as well (study after study shows cannabis consumption does not impair driving anywhere near as badly as alcohol consumption). Cannabis can be measured in urine for up to 28 days following use, while the effects wear off in hours like alcohol. How about instead of a fishing net approach to catching folks, police be required to actually present evidence of impaired driving, rather than not having to actually prove anything other than an arbitrary (and ever-changing) “legal” limit of a substance? The fact that people are arguing in favor of continuing the insanity of cannabis prohibition all because the cops can’t easily get their revenue dollars but must actually do real police work and document actual impairment, is insane.
How about not charging people with a crime if there is no victim?
DUI is pre-crime.
So it’s a crime because they ‘might’ injure or kill someone?

You don’t get a DUI unless you are driving erratically. If you are driving dangerously and get tested for a DUI, the popo should indeed throw the book at you.

You claim you can’t get a DUI unless you’re driving erratically, then you call for an end to checkpoints. Cognitive dissonance much?
What do checkpoints have to so with it?..
Violating your rights because you MIGHT violate anothers is wrong!How about back to the Constitution that states you must be INDICTED for a Capitol crime BEFORE you are kidnapped and held for ransom by the state!
Stats also show the checkpoints DO NOT increase DUI arrests.That’s like a bat waiting for the bugs to come to him while sitting on top of the streetlight!
Stop licensing and regstration while your at it,what I have and what I do with it is NOT the governments purview…just once again the state collecting data because something MIGHT HAPPEN…..that’s not jurisprudence,that’s indemnification!
