Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced he is seeking to ban all religions with ties to Russia. He claims the move is needed to “guarantee spiritual independence to Ukraine.” This law will target millions of Ukrainians who identify as Russian Orthodox.
During his nightly address on Thursday, Zelensky announced he was introducing legislation that would eliminate religious organizations affiliated with Russia from operating in Ukraine. He said this will make “it impossible for religious organizations affiliated with centers of influence in the Russian Federation to operate in Ukraine.”
The Ukrainian leader said it was necessary to purge the church to preserve the country’s spiritual independence. Adding, “We will never allow anyone to build an empire inside the Ukrainian soul.” Zelensky denounced Ukrainians continuing to attend the parishes as failing to overcome “the temptation of evil.”
He claimed a series of recent raids by Kiev’s intelligence found orthodox churches which remain connected with the Moscow Patriarchate have been acting as operatives for the Kremlin. In his address, Zelensky instructed his security forces to further target Russian Orthodox parishes.
At least two-thirds of Ukrainians identify as Eastern Orthodox Christians. At one point, the majority of Ukrainians attended parishes that followed the Moscow Patriarchate.
Some recent polls say that number has dwindled to under 15%. However, the polling was only conducted in territory that was controlled by Ukrainian forces. Zelensky has vowed to return those regions to Kiev’s authority.
Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, responded by slamming Zelensky’s move as authoritarian. “The current Ukrainian authorities have openly become enemies of Christ and the Orthodox faith,” he said.

Jacob Dreizin lives in greater DC and works for the government. Intelligence? I don’t know. He doesn’t get specific. He was born in Israel to Russian Jews. He speaks Russian and seems to favor Russia in this conflict – or at least doesn’t tolerate Western media bullshit. He blogs infrequently, since he only does it part-time. His latest rant (and last until 2023, he says) rambles, touching on many subjects (Musk is a conman, Bitcoin may be a CIA invention, etc.). The lengthy portion that starts with “Freedom Will Prevail” (Why The Ukraine is Toast) is an eye-opener. “The Ukraine is basically Stalin’s USSR”, says Dreizin.

Zelensky was foisted upon the Ukraine by Ihor Kolomoyskyi. Biden’s selection as 2020 candidate was cemented by James Clyburn, but most of US foreign policy team is Jewish.
And some, I assume, are good people. Could just be the Ashkenazim punching above their demographic weight on account of their intellect – although Blinken is an obvious schmuck.
The problem isn’t Jews being in power per se – it’s what they do from those perches. Pushing anti-family deviance, open borders & globalism and using America’s economic and military strength to destroy Russia because of an ancient ethno-religious grievance.
The reason I hate (and hate is too mild a word) anti-Semites is not because I’m Jewish, but because people, who are unable to think for themselves, lump us all together. That’s like saying all people (I don’t know what to call them anymore without offending some), with a skin pigmentation that has more melanin than mine, are BLM; we know that’s BS; I personally know several from the service who are even further to the right than I am and I have a problem keeping myself from falling off the right end of the bench.
Jews: we’re not all geniuses; I should introduce you to some of my cousins who only graduated high school because they couldn’t keep them there any longer. We’re not all lawyers, doctors, and dentists; many of us are typical blue collar workers. And there are a lot of us whose parents came from Eastern Europe who are very grateful to have been born in this country and were happy to write Uncle Sam a blank check and didn’t run up to Canada (despise those probably more than I despise the Jew-haters).
I think (and hope) Zelenskyy and those backing him just made a very large error; the Russians and Ukranians are an extremely religious people and attempting to create a schism might just be the last thing Zelenskyy has done. With a little bit of luck, he may just wind up like Benito.
