URGENT: A federal database offers more evidence the mRNA Covid jabs may have serious cardiovascular risks

A Centers for Disease Control report links Pfizer’s bivalent booster to strokes. The news follows several other recent findings of concern. But don’t worry! The Washington Post says everything’s fine.

Pfizer’s bivalent Covid booster raised the risk of stroke for people over 65, according to a federal database that the government considers the gold standard for tracking vaccine side effects.

The Centers for Disease Control said Friday afternoon it had received 130 reports of ischemic stroke in people over 65 who had received the new Pfizer jab less than three weeks before. An ischemic stroke occurs when a blood clot blocks the flow of oxygen to the brain.

The CDC and vaccine advocates in the media immediately downplayed the potential importance of the finding. But it is only the latest to suggest the mRNA shots have serious cardiovascular risks that may increase with repeated dosing.

The stroke finding follows a report last month from Food & Drug Administration researchers that an earlier version of Pfizer shot was associated with pulmonary embolisms in a different database. Notably, the FDA database initially revealed a broader range of potential cardiac problems, including heart attacks. (Interestingly, both findings suggest the Pfizer mRNA jab carries more clotting risk than Moderna’s version.)

Independent researchers are also now finding new evidence for the mechanism by which the shots cause myocarditis, or heart inflammation – a now-proven link.

Two weeks ago, Harvard University scientists reported they had found vaccine-generated coronavirus spike protein shards in the blood of young people who developed myocarditis after being jabbed. They did not find the spikes in a group of similar young people who did not develop myocarditis, suggesting that the spikes themselves may be cardiotoxic.

And in late November, German pathologists reported a characteristic pattern of immune-cell infiltration of heart tissue in five people who had died of cardiac failure. “Myocarditis can be a potentially lethal complication following mRNA-based anti-SARS-CoV-2 vaccination,” they wrote.

The FDA, Harvard, and German findings were all published in peer-reviewed journals.

Notably, the CDC put out its press release about the strokes and the Pfizer bivalent booster on the Friday before a three-day weekend, a typical time to dump bad news.

The release contained no details about the number of strokes. But the agency told the Washington Post that its Vaccine Safety Datalink database had received 130 reports of ischemic stroke in people over 65 who had received the Pfizer jab less than three weeks before.

About 550,000 people in the database received Pfizer bivalent boosters, so 130 strokes may not sound like a huge number, especially since people over 65 are at higher risk for cardiovascular problems.

But those 130 strokes were significantly more than the number of strokes the same vaccinated people had in the next three weeks after they were jabbed – that is, weeks four, five, and six. The fact the extra strokes occurred almost immediately after vaccination is what epidemiologists call a “signal” of potential harm.

The CDC disclosed essentially no other specifics – including the “rate ratio,” or the level of extra risk it had found. (A rate ratio of 2 would mean the shots were associated with a doubling of the risk; 3 would mean a tripling.)

Instead, the agencies immediately downplayed the risk, noting that several other large studies had not confirmed the stroke finding, without noting that the FDA itself had published its report on embolisms last month. Both embolisms and strokes result when blood clots break loose and block arteries – embolisms in the lungs and strokes in the vessels leading to the brain.

But not to fear!

Journalists at the nation’s top news organizations immediately asked hard questions about the finding rather than simply accepting the CDC’s assurance that shots it has pushed for two years are safe.

Or not.

Yes, that was the actual headline.

It’s hard at this point to know what has failed more profoundly, the mRNA shots or the reporters who cover them.
