Why Are the Red State Republicans So Soft?

Guest Post by Kurt Schlichter

If you are a California conservative, you are probably pretty based. In fact, you are probably heads-on-spikes based. I go speak to these people and these nice Republican ladies show you their “RINO Hunter” tatts and talk about how Jeb! is a … well, they are very graphic. California is blue, deep blue, and we Golden State patriots are a besieged minority, yet you look at the GOP base and if they were any more to the right they would nominate Attila the Hun for Senate. Of course, Attila’s innovative policy prescriptions regarding driving his enemies before him and provoking the lamentations of the women and so forth are worth exploring.

But then you go to some of these deep red states where you would think they were based and you have to wonder what the hell they are thinking. Look at South Dakota under Chamber of Commerce Cowgirl Kristi Noem. It took her years and the realization that running interference for the squishes by refusing to sign on to a bill protecting kids from gender freaks was destroying her chance of ever being president before she finally signed something. In places like North Dakota and Idaho, which should be on the cutting edge of medieval conservatism, they regularly elect Buick Republicans who think we should use our inside voices. What gives?

Take at South Carolina. Please. Red, red, red. Except it has given us Nikki Haley, who makes Jeb! look like…well, her with lower heels. And it has Tim Scott, a nice guy but someone who would never, ever choose to leave a heap of his enemies skulls on the field of battle as a warning to those who might challenge us. Look, if you are not into skull-stacking in 2023, you are out of step with the strategic needs of the movement. And then there’s their other senator, Lindsey Graham, the guy who is all in on Ukraine, confirming Dem judges, and amnesty. Sure, Trump digs him – because Trump never learns – but the guy is a fossil locked in a time capsule that says “Don’t Open until 2006 Happens Again.”

How does a state as gloriously scarlet as Lower Carolina breed such throwback Republicans? Is there something in the water? Did Pete Buttigieg let another weird chemical tanker train derail there?

I have a theory.

I think that red state Republicans have it easy and can afford to be soft. Or at least they think they can. And so they often are.

I think that in the blue states, we Republicans have to fight. I can literally go days not talking to anyone who thinks like us who is not a super-hot Cuban woman. We are surrounded by the left, facing off with them all the time, and constantly on alert. We can never let our guard down. It is who we are. Recently, a person in a line of work where most everyone is a pinko took me aside, out of earshot, and expressed joy in meeting others of a like mind. We are the underground, a real resistance, not some sissy MSNBC posing. In the red states, you know normal people in great numbers. For us, it’s a treat to meet one. We could literally hold a meet-up of every conservative in LA in a Denny’s with room for few pinkos to be getting their grand slam breakfasts too.

In the big red states, everyone who is wants to get elected to anything joins the GOP. So, naturally, a lot of people who, in a non-red state, would probably be Democrats, join the GOP. It’s the only game in town. Can you tell the difference between Arkansas’s Asa Hutchinson and a Democrat?

But these people dilute the hardcoreness of the party. You get them in office and they do not evolve into something cool. Rather, they devolve into squishes and undercut those who actually are based. Look at Texas. You would think Texas would be positively neanderthal. Nope. The only reason it is as based as it is right now, with rumblings about fighting CRT and the rest of that commie crap, is because Ron DeSantis is over in Florida shaming Governor Greg Abbott into doing something. Governor DeSantis is shaming a lot of folks into moving right; they would be spinning their wheels in moderation (which is synonymous with decline) if he was not embarrassing them by his transcendent basedness.

Florida proves my theory. It was purple. Democrats often won elections. We all remember 2000 – well, you Gen Z people don’t, but you can consult an elder for tales of hanging chads – and the state came within a battalion of voters of going for Al Gore. Florida is red now, but it took work. It took a struggle. It took fighting. No wonder DeSantis is rock hard. He had to be. And not he and the FLGOP win.

So no wonder the red state parties are soft. They can be. But not forever. You know what other state was deep red? The one that gave us Ronald Reagan. California was ultra-mega GOP right up until it wasn’t. Our GOP got soft. It took its dominance for granted. And it nearly got exterminated.

What’s left of the Republicans base in Cali is hard again, and that’s great, but the rest of you red states better watch yourselves. Never, ever, take your red for granted, or the next thing you know you’ll have a socialist human hairstyle for a Democrat governor too.

You forgot to mention Texas other senator, John Cornyn, or W., or… Thank God we have Ken Paxton as our AG, or I fear Texas GOP politicians might turn into silly putty. It’s why I don’t support the Republican party, they’ve lost sight of true meaning of Conservatism.

Outside of the big cities, Texas is deep red. But I fear we may be heading in the direction of California.

I like the way John Cornyn led the battle cry for the bipartisan gun deal. /s

And Lt. Governor Dan Patrick has certainly lived up to his talk about property tax reform. Of course only when it’s election time.

There are only about 3 blue cities in Texas. The rest is deep red. Of course, Abbott lives in Austin( California East) with all those stinking hippies and queers, but if you get about 10 miles away, the stench washes off and you can see clearly. Lot of us cowboys out here who carry, open doors for others and love puppies. Don’t see us going the way of NYC any time soon. And most of us want to secede.

IIRC, there was an article or two about 3 or 4 years ago how Texas — if it seceded — could actually break up into as many as 5 new States …

I say ‘go for it’ … have 5 (or at least 4) deep Red States and their 2 US Senators apiece … and wouldn’t that just kink a few colons here and there.

Blues cities are like cancer, if the tumer isn’t surgically removed it’s takes over the whole state. Doesn’t matter how red or independent it is. Az had more Constitutional laws , constitutional carry, and less taxes especially on property than Texas. Yet we have Tucson, Flagstaff, and now parts of Phoenix going deep blue. Taking the rest of us along for the unholy hell of a ride. They always target the power structure. They move like locusts ruinkng everywhere they move to. They are coordinate, they tell all of there friends to move with them, they take over, and once red areas go purple then deep blue and people flee the insanity

They alway target the cities and power structures, manufacturing centers, their youth for jobs, their leaders for power. Texas will go blue with spineless rats like Abbott defending you all. We had a spineless gop lame duck governor in AZ just sign off on a fraudulent, criminal election. Fuckin Doucy is probably going into fbi hiding after this is all said and done. Millions are pissed. Who knows, the right is to civil, think that is why they always lose. I never saw anyone beat a bully by complying and being fucking nice. Perhaps this is why the beast and antichrist system win over the saints for so long. Wearing them out because they fllow the law even when there leaders are lawless. They are nice even when they shouldnt be. If you believe in that Christian stuff. The saints are playing checkers, while the wicked are playing chess, and if they lose they just throw the board . Perhaps the wise would learn to throw the board in a rage to,and cheat back.take the playing board and hit them in the face with it!

The vast majority of Republicans are Rinos at heart. Being a true conservative means taking full responsibility for your own life, and not 1 in 100 Americans are truly willing to do that. Our country is not degenerating because of our corrupt leaders, it is degenerating because we are corrupt as a people. We have sold our ethics and principals for materialism and wealth. In the end, we reap what we sow.

Jdog, I disagree. The Republican party has always been the party of the Bush’s, rich northern elites. It was only when the democrats turned ultra liberal in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s that conservatives fled the donkey party for the elephant party. Anytime a true conservative is elected, he is soon compromised by the Good Old Boys of the GOP and pretty soon, he is raking in millions and voting for more government. Once elected, it is harder than hell to get them out of office due to the power of incumbency.

Arizona is pretty red too. We’ve been invaded like texas though. Endless leftwingers leaving liberal areas in California for better work and living conditions, affordable housing, and.taxes mainly, they vote.the same except fir a fee, myself included as i transolated along time ago,I didn’t vote Hobbs. Now our elections are stolen and no one gives a damn, it seems. Not that I like carry lakesince Trump endorses her, He isn’t a patriot or conservative , he’s not stupid, he started most of this emergency covid19 tyranny crap Biden made worse, he is a Democrat in Republican clothing. Still lake couldn’t be worse than Hobbs.

She violated Arizona law not recusing herself from presiding over her own election in conflict of interest. She is guilty of breaking the law, yet she is our fucking governor,go figure, the gop doesn’t care, law enforcement doesn’t care, the judges do not seem to care, no one with legal authority seems to fucking care! Lawlessness is allowed for the commie/nazi left wing, while it’s zero tolerance for everyone else, especially Republicans,Christians, and Conservatives. The gop in red states are bought off the fight, not just infiltrated I’d wager. Can’t continue on like this. Down with the unconstitutional, corrupt, unequal system.

“Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why if all politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don’t have Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don’t write the tax code. Congress does. You and I don’t set fiscal policy. Congress does. You and I don’t control monetary policy. The Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justices — 545 human beings out of 235 million — are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excused the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered by private central bank.

I exclude all of the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it.

No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislators’ responsibility to determine how he votes.

Don’t you see the con game that is played on the people by the politicians? Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of Tip O’Neill, who stood up and criticized Ronald Reagan for creating deficits.

The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating appropriations and taxes.

Those 545 people and they alone are responsible. They and they alone should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses — provided they have the gumption to manage their own employees.”

Miss old Charlie Reese.

“The great advantage of a free society is the capacity to self-correct itself. You’d think dictators would have figured that out, but if they are not paranoid when they seize power, they become so trying to hang on to power.” ~ Reese, from his final column:

For many years here in North Dakota we had two demoncrap senators and one demoncrap rep, whom we conservatives fondly referred to as the “three stooges”. Now we have elected “republicans” to these offices, and we still have “three stooges”. Apparently the allure of money (insider trading), power, and influence trump any obligation to actually represent their constituents. Vote harder or smarter, it doesn’t matter. There are no Mr. Smiths in D.C.

Living in the liberal hell hole of Maryland what the state needs is an electoral college system .
If a leftist democrat or a RINO runs for any office they just have to win 3 counties and Baltimore City and they are in !
The areas just happen to have the highest population of government employees, welfare recipients and blacks !
The rest of the states voters majority white are infested with liberalism and any any strong conservatives really don’t even need to get out of bed on Election Day ‘
That’s why we call the state capital Annapolis , MOSCOW ON THE BAY
Most of the state legislature make Karl Marx look like a right wing extremists

In this current world construct, in my opinion, once one reaches a position of leadership they are immediately vulnerable to the real ruling coalition and must bend to their will or be taken down. Keep in mind that there are different roles to be played in the charade.
Remember reading some articles about trumps’ personal security team being pushed out of the white house so that the “secret service” could resume their “duties”.

Schlichter is such an idiot. What are these “red states” of which he speaks? The only two states that are even vaguely analogous to lib areas like California, DC, Maryland, Illinois, MA, NY are…

Oklahoma and Wyoming. Maybe Idaho until it’s been fully Califucked.

Beto O’ Rourke got 48.3% of the vote against Ted Cruz in Texas in 2018. Democrat Doug Jones won Alabama. Democrat Jon Tester represents Montana. Kansas voted 59-41 AGAINST an anti-abortion constitutional amendment

I swear to God high-voice Schlichter sits out there in Los Angeles imagining that there are a bunch of states that are Reverse California and that they’re somehow going to save America. It’s not true. Even Oklahoma is liberal is some ways. Schlichter should get his ass out of SoCal for once and come to Missouri or wherever he thinks these mythical red states are. There may be fewer Mexicans, but he’ll see blue-haired, nose-ringed non-binaries and various other weirdos in every state. He’ll even find cowboy-hatted old guys who are pro gay “marriage” and progressive all down the line. 1983 is gone, pal. It ain’t coming back.

Why are Republican politicians such squishes? Because they know their electorate. They represent them all too well. We have met the enemy and he is us.

Per se. The ignorant and misguided youth (Hosea 4:6) trend that way so the nation trends that way; but that way (communism & perversion), is the way of death and destruction, it cannot continue, it is not sustainable economically or socially, not to mention God and how much perversion of the children He will stand before He ends it His way (manmade & natural disasters, plagues, famines, wars and fire). I believe if the West accepts the CBDC (scheduled for full implementation July2024), an Individual QR code and The Mark Of The Beast (TMOB) will follow. Come out of Her My People.
