Will the Kremlin ever understand that it is the Kremlin’s failure to use sufficient force to terminate a conflict whose ever-widening character threatens to end in nuclear war? How many times have senior Russian officials noted incidents that “confirm US involvement in the Ukraine conflict”? Why does the Kremlin embarrass itself by pointing out incidents that it does nothing about? The drone was obviously a provocation. Washington’s intention was to produce a Russian response to a drone headed into Russian territory. The Kremlin is again sitting on its butt, as it did for 8 years from 2014 until 2022, while the West restores and upgrades Ukraine’s military capability. Meanwhile, the Kremlin prepares more troubles for itself by refusing to acknowledge that it is at war, not conducting a “limited military operation” in Donbass. The Kremlin’s inability to understand the dangers in an ever-widening war is inexplicable.
Why does the Kremlin expect Russians to fight a war that the Kremlin shows no signs of intention to win? Soldiers don’t want to die for the purpose of their government negotiating a settlement. Has the Russian Army refused to fight a war that Putin has no intention of winning?
Precisely as I predicted from the beginning, the longer this conflict continues, the more involved Washington becomes. The more Washington is involved, the more dangerous the conflict becomes. How can such an obvious fact escape the Kremlin? And Washington?

You have absolutely no comprehension of what Paul is saying. He is not backing the U.S. and Ukraine in this war. He’s pointing out the fact that Russia is stalling in eastern Ukraine instead of attacking and taking the territory it wants there. The longer Russia stalls, the more likely an idiot like FJB will change this into a shooting war between Russia and NATO (the U.S.). It may be because of the coming rasputitsa in that part of Europe that Russian is holding off its offensive, but Putin needs to get going soon after the ground dries or continue to see escalation on the part of FJB.

The author continually bleats about Putin not wanting to end the conflict quickly. Of course Putin doesn’t want it to end quickly; he is draining the west of weapons, ammunition, so-called mercenaries, and, above all, its sanity. Another year of this and the west will likely pull the plug on ‘elensky and leave him to the warmth and affection of what little remains of the Uky population.
It’s the military version of the rope-a-dope Putin is defending Russian speaking people carrying Russian passports who have a signed treaty insuring their right to vote on independence. He is not attacking Ukraine.

Some of our leaders have said the purpose of the war is to deplete Russian arms. Maybe, just maybe, Putin’s plan all along has been to deplete NATO’s arms and its ability to bring war on other nations.
Russia appears to be doing OK through this limited military action and along with China, is putting together a coalition of countries that will have a very wide impact on the world’s economy. At the same time, the west is slowly crumbling and waiting on that key card to fail bringing down the whole house of cards.
Yes, for the small cost of the military action in Ukraine Russia is simultaneously defeating NATO, the US, and the west’s economy. As things are going now Russia wins in every way; we will end up alone and busted. The DC warmongers and MIC swamp knows this and are getting more desperate and irresponsible by the day. Russia won’t change anything, but will let this war die by Ukrainian attrition or internal coup. Z’s days are numbered. Our empire too has been placed on the scales and is found to be lacking.
Does Putin want nuclear war?
Of course not, but that is not the question. The question is will Putin use nukes to fulfill his aims in Ukraine if he sees himself as losing? And if he does will the world capitulate or start firing nukes at Russia? That is dangerous to all of us.
200,000+ dead Ukrainians and another 250,000 wounded and unable to return to duty. At a cost of 20-30 thousand lost to Russia. This is demilitarization!
From WWI onward 60% if battle casualties were from artillery and another 30% from areal bombardment. You can see why the Ukes fighting with just rifles are taking such a beating.
