Up here flags fly at half mast about 75% of the time. I routinely ask why and almost never get an answer, they just do. Sometimes it will be for a mass shooting but even then after a week it seems like they’d lighten up and go back to running it to the top of the pole.
No one knows anything about our flag anymore.
Same thing here. I saw the flags the other day in multiple places at half mast and no one knew why.
No kidding? I have noticed the same thing for the last 5 years over 3 states and I ask too. And nobody ever knows.

…during the covidian days I drove back roads each day to work from my home at the time in MA on NH line to Salem, NH and noted that there must of been 6 or 8 different homes that flew the flag upside-down for months on end.
