We’re Not Finished

Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

“You give me a piece of ground and a sword and I am going to take back this country with your help and the help of all the homeless Democrats and Republicans who are Americans first.”Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

RFK Jr for President on Twitter: "The name of the sword is truth. The name of the mission is peace. Join us. #Kennedy24 #AllTheWayWithRFK #FreeAssange #HealTheDivide https://t.co/NiUjbSlr7D https://t.co/8pZdtQ4u0c" / Twitter

If you’re wondering why our country is lost in lunatic raptures of lawless Lawfare and futile MAGAry, it’s because our economy has already collapsed, and our culture and politics with it downstream have also collapsed into spectacular degeneracy. It has already happened. Maybe you don’t know it.

The business model is broken. We’re a shadow of the industrial economy that won a great war and enjoyed a boisterous peace. You can’t replace ball bearing factories with theme parks and hedge funds. Sorry. The full faith and credit of the USA is not embodied in those frivolities, so our money is losing its mojo fast.

But get this: we will go on. This is not the end of the world or the end of history. It is the end of an era. Believe it or not, the economy will fix itself, it just won’t be what it was in 1957. It won’t be what the techno-supremacists think, either. (You need a dependable electric grid to run all those server farms and the apps they serve, and the AI supposedly looming.) It will fix itself because when things fail, as they are doing now, a lot of opportunities will open up to do things differently, even very differently.

When the chain stores fail along with their twelve-thousand-mile supply lines, Americans will figure out how to find stuff, make stuff, move stuff, and sell stuff at a smaller scale, maybe back on your Main Street (if it’s still there). There will be a lot less stuff, of course. But it may be enough stuff, and some of you will be busy making stuff of some kind. Imagine an economy where practically everybody has a useful role to play. Do you know how much more important it is to lead a purposeful, acrtive life of than to be lost in leisure and anomie with more stuff than you know what to do with? Which is where we’re at now, even for many who are statistically “poor.”

When the Happy Motoring colossus tweaks out, we’ll spend less time moving around and more time doing useful things, staying put around the places where we live. We’d be lucky if we could keep some railroads going, but the prospects are not great for that now. Sorry, we blew it. Should have re-started that project in 1970 when the handwriting was on the wall. (We made a lot of bad choices.) Cars and trains require elaborate networks of many interdependent technologies all integrated smoothly at the giant scale — oil, steel, plastics, electronics — and all of that is disintegrating. Pretty soon, you can forget about airplanes, too. That leaves… what? Yes, boats and horses. I know… it sounds inconceivable. Wait for it.

When our grotesque medical racketeering matrix fails, doctors will practice medicine at smaller scale, probably without advanced pharmaceuticals and techno-diagnostics. They’ll open small local clinics while zombies squat in the broken mega-hospitals. You’ll have to pay in cash, whatever form that comes in. You’ll have to take care of yourself, too, but there will be a whole lot less enticing, engineered, toxic crap available to stuff into your body — Froot Loops, Hot Pockets — and the food markets won’t be all that super. There will certainly be less food altogether, but there will be fewer of us to feed, and more of that fewer-of-us will be busy producing that food, one way or another.

That’s the reality I see coming. As you’ve seen vividly, the journey from where we were in, say, the year 2000, to where we’re going has been psychologically disordering at the mass scale. These days, people who ought to know better express ideas that would have gotten them laughed out the room in 1999. The catch is that few of you know that this mass disordering grew out of fear of the journey. It was a phenomenon of infectious mass anxiety over something only dimly apprehended. You just thought it was about bad people.

You’re now faced with the question: how to avoid committing suicide, directly or inadvertently, personally or as a whole society, slowly or quickly? — and its corollary, how to get through the madness in the meantime? Politics happen whether you pay attention to it or not. Politics is concerned with how a society navigates through history. Today, it seems that either A) somebody is steering badly; B) Nobody is steering; or C) some outside force has commandeered the ship’s wheel and is steering for us.

Any way you look at that, we need somebody to steer. Mr. Trump has volunteered to try doing it again. The first time, forces in every quarter of American power set out to bushwhack, sandbag, harass, hector, and hound him. In the process, they just about destroyed the rule of law. Then they simply dis-elected him surreptitiously, something you’re not supposed to say, but there it is, like so much meat on the table. Now they’re trying to hoo-rah him into jail. Whatever you think of his, er, complex personality, you must admire his perseverance through adversity. If he somehow manages to wriggle through the present obstacle course of Lawfare chicanery, his next term would be an extravaganza of retribution. The spectacle would provide much satisfaction but, in the end, it would just be a sideshow, and it is not the same thing as taking care of business.

“Joe Biden,” of course, the man who is not really even there, is only pretending to run for reelection, or at least a coterie around the Oval Office is pretending for him while they try to figure out what to do. They’re in an awful quandary. They hold all the levers of power and they have no other credible candidate, not a living soul, in their own official hatchery.

Outside of that ghastly edifice, Robert F. Kennedy is making a determined flanking move, an end-run near the sidelines. The Democratic Party in all its florid and mendacious lunacy is pretending to not notice him, especially their praetorian news media that is the vector for America’s mass mental illness. Mr. Kennedy put it so simply in April when he announced a run to preside over the stupendous mess that is our government. He said his mission is an experiment to see what happens when you tell Americans the truth. Hold that thought. How long has it been since you thought anything like that was possible?

There’s a broad-based assumption across the land, derived from our fading prime artform, the movies, that Americans can’t handle the truth. Like so much else in our national life, that is probably erroneous… fake truth. And what is so striking in Mr. Kennedy’s performance so far is an absence of fakery. It’s more than refreshing, it’s… startling. Makes you blink, a little bit. Makes you remember what it’s like to not be lied-to incessantly. Makes you want to see more of it because it gives you strength when you thought you were finished. Get this now: our world is changing, and deeply, but we’re not finished.

According to the Bible, God’s Kingdom was supposed to arrive back in the 1st Century. That’s what Christ told his apostles and for which he sent them to announce it. Read your own Bible, it’s all there. Since nothing happened back then, each new generation of Christians has been fooled into believing that it’s coming during their lifetime. It’s the perfect Psyop to fool the dumb masses. Keep drinking the kool-aid!

I think Kunstler is right in his observation that we are headed into simpler times with less centralized technology and corporations. Corporate America as we know it is dying. I can feel it in my hometown right now. It feels like people are less busy. That sense of rushing and urgency that infiltrated our lives over the past couple of decades is easing.

Evidently you don’t live near Dallas/Fort Worth nor do I. I’m only familiar with the area and far enough away it’s like the place does not exist. Sure I can sense the invasion around here though of DFWers. When I do visit the hellish place all I can notice is masses of peeps scurrying around like ants so I see no decline in the urgency in DFW anyway.

I hate Dallas. But thats where the money is, so we are there every day. Luckily, I live an hour away so when I am not there, time does slow down a bit. Dallas is too frenetic, people there suck and nobody can drive. I stay armed and ready. If we make it 3 more years, I am gone to 100 acres in the Sabine forest. I don’t even have internet out there…

I hear you. Three more years is a long time in DFW so hang in there. Thankfully I was able to leave for good in 2016. Big cities are what they are and most of them suck and I agree with the driving habits. That is the biggest reason it takes me a couple of days to get over it. There is no way a person can drive conservatively or even Texas Friendly. Remember the motto, Drive Texas Friendly? I’m not certain but I believe the state gave up on that idea long ago as far as driving goes, Drive Texas Friendly. Yeah, right. And some of the peeps that have migrated to DFW do not necessarily come across as friendly. Bad habits brought to what use to be a fair state to live in even in the metropolitan area. I think Houston went down the toilet back in the 60’s though as I recall.

How about drive in self defense? If it were not for a family member under care at a facility I would not go there period. I have to drive plumb through Dallas (and Irving) and half way across Tarrant County to arrive at that facility. Sucks does not do it justice.

I’ll pony up 2 zlotys on the heels of your sentiment, SS. Maybe more than 2.

I walked away from corporate, the rat race, and the slave of the clock,
besides the golden handcuffs of a steady, meaty wage and income in 2020,
when the scamdemic was launched.

Part time jobs w/ less stress {but not always} helped fill the activities calendar and supplement the diminishing level of financial resources, to stay active and fund the never ending and rising cost of living.

But, those PT jobs soon also were a microcosm of the former chase.
Political correctness is rampant in most industries. Always hated that.

-Recently took a leave of absence from the workforce, and am enjoying a summer minus those former shackles.
It’s simpler. More peaceful to one’s soul.

It’s understood, most aren’t fortunate enough to be able to do so just yet.
Obligations and duty call. Still. Scale back if at all possible.

It’s refreshing, to squelch that need that so many have, to consume even more.
Preppers take that to an extreme, piling up storehouses of supplies.
That’s not a bad thing. It’s good to be prepared as best as possible for facing uncertain times.
But, being in the 4th quarter of my game of life, I’ve become content to do more worthwhile things, with less expenditures.

With all the stuff personally accumulated and paid for, it might be time to start getting lean, and selling off / donating the excess. Except for things that still might be useful.
But, by and large, Americans and westerners have far too much shit.
Have you noticed how many storage facilities have sprung up the last 10 years?
Many people just can’t let materialistic things go, on the fear they might need it in the future, or could be one day passed on to family and friends. They won’t want it.

I try to remember an adage I heard many years ago.
“Much of everything you think you might need, you already have. And that which is still needed, a way to obtain it shall be revealed, if it is His will for you to have it. Just trust that, and believe it.”

I’d opened up my yap about purging way more junk from my collection in years past.
And then, as if our Source seemed to check and see if I was really committed, we had 48 hours of rain in Summer 2014. Without a garage, the basement in my home acted as a mini storage cave. The storm was too much for the water runoff lines to handle, and we had major flooding. In my own case, I had 18 inches of raw sewage back up the floor drain, covering the entire floor of the basement, and all its contents. Nasty.
When the water finally receded, the biofilm and waste left behind was a difficult clean up.
Couldn’t sweep it up, or wipe it up. It smeared, like gobs of black, funky odor oil.
Eventually, biohazard crews were extremely busy for the next 12 months. Bleach.

Every house on my block, in my city, and along a freeway corridor spanning 12 different municipalities had to throw away everything that got wet & contaminated. Furniture. Old books. Old photos. Spare clothing. Exercise equipment. Sporting goods. Christmas decorations, and ad infinitum.
The county landfills had to suspend collections, even from the hired hauling services that served those communities. It was a mess. Took many months to clean up.
Akin a bit, to the devastation left in the wake of tornadoes & hurricanes, to some degree.

It’s Spring again, with Summer bearing down quickly.
By Fall, I’m hoping to have seriously weaned down the excess, to the bare minimum.
As it stands now, if I had to sell and move out, I’d need 2 dumpsters for toss aways,
an estate sale over 3 days, and a large U-Haul just to take away the keepsakes that I still cannot let go of. Where to put it all, if not in the next home? Why storage, of course.
With it’s monthly fee. Madness.

All the resale shops are full of the garbage from 3 sources.
1. Granny’s death…donate her shit.
2. A storage renter couldn’t keep up w the fees. . . auction off their shit.
3. Donations from people willing to just downsize, without expecting any lucre from it’s release.

If lucre is the driver, then Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or eBay is viable.

Many garage sales should put a “b” in the middle of that yard sign.
Some stuff, nobody really wants.
And yet, in roughly 5% of the situations, one man’s junk is another’s sorely needed treasure.
“Hey, this is still in good shape. Somebody might need it some day.” LOL.
Ok. Bridge the gap and find that need, and fill it, with flexible negotiating of prices.

If given up freely though, the doors of future needs supply will swing open, allowing one to browse and obtain, if they can use discretion in getting only what’s truly needed.

@Lager

That is a good subject to discuss right there. I recently moved back to my hometown this past spring. I’m now having to unpack a bunch of plastic tubs that had been in storage off and on over the past 10 years. I still haven’t gone through them all because the mental work of it is exhausting. Continuously moving every couple of years for the past 20 years caught up with me lol. But I now know I have enough clothes, books, art supplies, DVDs, notebooks etc to last me at least a decade. I have plenty of things to keep myself entertained and MANY books to reread.

I think that the generation who accumulated good stuff back in the 1940’s and 1950’s has pretty much passed into the great beyond. The 1960’s is when they started manufacturing real garbage, and by the 1990’s, everything was made in China. I’ve heard around here that the estate sale people are saying they’re turning down more clients simply because the stuff in the estate is junk.

Poor Preppers. Most of them think they can prep their way into maintaining the highest living conditions in the history of mankind with guns and a generator, while the rest of the world collapses. They might do well for the first year, maybe. But there will be nothing to replenish their stores, so the end will just be delayed.

I’m thinking that if you can provide yourself a lifestyle on the level of the civil war era, you’ll make it, and anything above and beyond that will be gravy. Maybe look into black powder arms, and a steam-powered generator…

Abigail and I both noticed the post where you said your creativity went up since studying the Bible. This is one of the waves of the holy spirit. It’s called the feminine creative. You will notice wonderful things happening with our life when you are following your own individual spiritual path. Now image you did that for the next 40 years with wonderful things happening along the way. That is where I am at. You will notice little improvements in your life with spiritual study, and it’s tools of prayer, meditation, and contemplation.

Don’t get discouraged. Your belief of a spiritual war taking place is right on. You always have to go back to the basics. All Good things come from God. Satan encourages destruction and all of it’s forms. While God is the creator of the macro universe. We are the creators of our micro universe. Here is one of my favorite prayers to say when I awake, from Psalm 25.

Show me your ways, Lord,
teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,

It’s one of many things that happen to a narcissists’ mental state. When Obama was in office I thought no one could top Obama’s narcissism. Was I ever wrong! Trump’s is even more serious. Case in point, a TV interview some years ago where Trump is sitting at a desk thumbing through a stack of magazines containing articles pertaining to him. With each magazine he would point out the article to the interviewer and point out Trump’s “greatness” as to whatever the subject of the article, perhaps some miraculous business endeavor he created (but then flopped).

There is an interesting conversation between RFK Jr and Jordan Peterson.

RFK Jr has an interesting take on climate change. I think he is sincere in his attributions of vaccines causing many social ills – vaccines and poor food health. I do not agree with his dismissal of the climate change hoax but, it seems he has focused on Big Pharma so long that it eclipses his ability to see other vectors. He does not see the manipulation of sustainability and climate change.

It is still an error but not one of corruption. He is taking a stand that could well get him killed. That is no small thing after seeing his uncle and dad assassinated. That’s not an endorsement. Simply, an acknowledgement that not all people with different perspectives are corrupted. They might just be wrong.

I suggest you take some time to read up on the difference between regenerative agriculture and, oh, say, carbon credit scams. Then maybe do a little digging into what RFK Jr considers to be helping poor folks (he uses urban poor and Appalachian poor with equal empathy) as opposed to promoting reparations; that isn’t going to happen in an RFK Jr administration. It wouldn’t have to, as he never promised it and he has enough bona fides not to need to offer it to prove he is genuine in his desire to help.

RFK Jr has been in the trenches fighting for a reclaimed earth that is healthy fo humans for four decades, not for a WEF 15 minute cityscape. The kind of broad brush, brain-dead “analysis” like yours is exactly why we won’t be able to overcome the fine-tuned bullshit of all the flag waving, Astro turfed “patriots” who know far better than Kennedy what words to use to get folks like you all lathered up.

It is a tragic consequence of our time that many of us really cannot begin to fathom the possibility that the unexpected, the game changer, can come out of the blue. We don’t need a savior in the White House, but we do need someone with integrity and a proven record of putting his hands to work, instead of just his mouth, when it comes to rebuilding our civic life. Is there anyone else in either party that even remotely comes close to the standard that Kennedy has lived for 40 years…because I sure as hell don’t see that person.

“It will fix itself because when things fail, as they are doing now, a lot of opportunities will open up to do things differently, even very differently.”
Albert Einstein once said, “You can’t solve problems using the same consciousness that created them.” This is so true. We live in a Kakistocracy: a society ruled and led by the least moral, least competent, least sane among us, hence the dystopian hell-scape we are experiencing now.
It is foolish for us to think RFK Jr. can/will save us all by himself, the system is too corrupt, too immoral and too far gone to be saved by elections. Look at what TPTB did to his uncle, his father, Donald J. Trump and the few wannabes who were honest and tried to run for president and genuinely effect change. America has a consciousness of: predation, rapine, might makes right, I can take anything I want and we see in the upper classes and the lower classes, it permeates our culture. The only way things will change is when we change this demonic, parasitic consciousness to one of cooperation, peace, civility and genuine caring for ourselves and “the other”. Until that transformation occurs we ae merely wishing and hoping, pretending not to know what we know and face the reality of the depravity and moral rot metastasizing throughout this nation. Change begins on the micro level, in each of us, the man and woman in the mirror.

Feel free to laugh off the idea. But that is how victorious armies, victorious civilizations have come back before. That is how you can have the debauchery, corruption and violence of a Caligula, and 150 years later the empire was still intact and thrived under Marcus Aurelius, the philosopher emperor.

But for those with a LINEAR view, history is railroad tracks leading in one direction to a destination uncertain. They cannot conceive of, let alone perceive, the whirlpools and eddies that crisscross an infinitude of lives that make up that civilization.

Sirhan’s point was exactly that. That the course of history is as linear as the weather. His point was that those who think that history is linear are incorrect, possibly doomed.

The fear-porn onslaught that began in the 50’s and 60’s with the Cold War so TPTB could maintain their grift and usury is becoming tiresome and unbelievable. They want to ramp up the crises but most of us are tired of hearing “wolf” and just don’t GAF. That means they’re losing leverage and the “crises” will become more extreme. To quote Tom Luongo “They’ll flip the board.” The rothschilds, rockefellers and khazarians know their scam is winding down and they, like most, think that they’re going to protect themselves by hoarding the wealth and building their ‘smart cities’. It won’t. Their system depends on the rank and file following their rules meant to keep everyone subjugated. What happens when we internalize that they don’t play by them so why should we?

They’re going to have to step on a lot of people to get where they want to. It’s only a matter of time before they step on the wrong person. I don’t think RFK is that person but someone is out there, seething at what’s going on. Like everything humans do there will be unforeseen flaws and consequences that undo the best laid plans. Like Jim said in the article it’ll probably the scale of electricity needed to make smart cities function properly. I’m sure they’ve done calculations but like everything TPTB does, there are some big errors, it’s a bluff, or a farce. Even if they get to their stated goal of 1/2 a billion population (unlikely) the base physical plant they’ll depend on for control will have problems and failures they can’t repair due to lack of resources, skilled labor or mother nature. Look for that to piss off the rank and file to the point of rebellion at least in the form of seeking alternatives. Maybe worse.

Also, many people are waking up to the fact that these fucking wars are completely, idiotically unnecessary and are just another form of control propaganda. The end of the Mil-IC and Med-IC will occur relatively soon. Real people are fed up with big everything, especially government, pharma and tech. Many people want to go back to somewhere between the 60’s and 80’s lifestyles where kids aren’t overscheduled and can play outside, have room to jump their bicycles and play stickball. Tech isn’t going away but it will be more carefully evaluated for use. Look for more Linux in computers as Microsoft becomes even more invasive than it already is. Smart cities will fail miserably. They’ll be dirty, crime ridden and rundown within a year of inception because people will have no stake in them, no way to build their lives or advance. This is a perfect recipe for a black market or a ghetto. The close proximity to others and radiation will just make everyone sick, crazy and agitated.

Anyone who doesn’t learn to take care of themselves in a 60’s rural-ish suburban environment will suffer the consequences and won’t be a burden for long.

Outside of that ghastly edifice

Not quite.

The leftists, liberals – classic or otherwise, who were content with 80% of the constitutional and cultural body being gutted and skinsuited for Progress, who enjoyed the moral cover of the same relativist and globohomo capital financialization of everything that ushered in “covid” and World War Tranny and No Country for White Men, were ecstatic when that same progress favored their interests and elevated their status among the anointed bringers of utopia on the right side of history toasting their gimlets to the beltway whores.

But now that their peers, riding the wave of invaders and massive explosion of debt and its gibs machines, have outkicked the moral coverage of their well-reasoned arguments for progress, they are suddenly some kind of red pilled, bastions of Truth?

FFS. I get the need for heroes in the fallen world, but just because one’s favored projects put them at odds with some demons does not make them angels.

This isn’t some perfect being the enemy of good enough, but my whole short life has been witnessing one long con of negotiating with Evil. Forgive me if I am not so easily convinced that more children of legacy career politik is the answer to anything.

Of course he does. Now.
Those same groups have already told us over and over Climate Change is a big part of their plan. Why not believe his original commentary, now?
So Kennedy, if elected, only enables 1/2 half of their controls. That’s much more reasonable right?

How about the Kennedy compound in Florida where Teddy would walk around pantsless.

JK should be getting excited as his old books are coming to life soon. Life was a lot tougher and simpler prior to the age of oil and as the sun sets on oil, we will be back to only 20% of our current energy level. Solar and Wind are unable to come up to speed to make up for the loss of fossil fuels. Being old enough to remember, my grandparents lived on the farm in the north. If they did not prepare accordingly, they would risk loss of life. I remember the farming without fertilizer, fallowing fields and rotating crops, plowing the nitrogen fixers, then growing corn the next year. Preparing all your foods from scratch, canning and storing for the winter. Small gardens growing the rest, using an outhouse, plumbing the pipes to add electricity, still retaining the wall oil lamps “just in case”. Shoveling the coal into the corner of the basement for the coal fired heater…Families worked and stayed together, otherwise it was a risk to your life or your children’s lives. Different life indeed. I think JK would agree, much of the smoke and mirrors disappear when life depends on self reliance.

Hey Admin. Any interesting local news details in your area about that truck that caught on fire and has taken down I95 for the rest of the summer? All I’ve been able to find is that it was carrying “some kind of petroleum based liquid” and that the sewers beneath the area were on fire after the mystery liquid leaked underground. Usually by now there would be information about the driver, how the “accident” happened, and calls for the responsible company to pay for all of the damages. I can’t even find out who owned the truck.

Sign me up but at this point Russia seems to be the last hope for America.

Thank God Russia has weapons no one else does. As for the G-5 Russia will not surgical hyper-sonic any members in Europe. So you might as well scratch off Soros(His son) and Klaus Schwab as any type of missile launch would only solidify the NATO narrative which the regime pushes.

On the other hand a surgical hyper-sonic strike on the remaing three

Obama family(CA, MV and HI)
Gates
Clinton family

would destroy the NATO narrative and put the U.S. on notice. The U.S. response would amount to rainbow threats and beta screaming. This would be followed up with another surgicl strike for the next 5 in line.

Truth be told I find Kuntsler so depressing…..
I just spent Memorial Weekend at conservative Lake Havasu where families were taking pictures next to a very large Trumpy Bear that sits happily along the roadside, waving his flags and although unattended, is unmolested. Wouldn’t matter if someone did mess with him cuz the Patriots would just put up another one……My take away was this:
Although I am too old to engage in all the youthful pursuits of Memorial Day weekend party folk I did witness probably close to a billion (yes, that’s billion) dollars worth of fancy boats, trucks, jet skis, etc., etc., and it was a sight to see. No matter what you think of how people comport themselves on the Holiday and at this particular place, it certainly made me realize how caught up I was in the doom-sayer narrative.
Fast boats, big trucks, snazzy cars and young people of all stripes and shapes partying hard on a long weekend actually did my soul some good. We may be a nation in decline, as Kunstler assures us, but perhaps no one told the people out enjoying themselves they should be sad, depressed and give up their toys?

BOLO: Have you noticed “new” Chinese with little or no English training with firearms, or training at paintball or airsoft ranges? There is growing concern about the thousands of fighting-age Chinese men coming up from Panama while our traitor govt assists them in every way.

This is a sample of airsoft combatives. The weapons and weapon sights closely simulate full-auto M-4s etc. The training implications are obvious.

On climate change mentioned in a number of posts, a dated article:

EPA Proposes Phasing Out All Battery-Powered EV/HEVs by 2035

When asking a so called conservative friend who has just purchased a brand new shiny Toyota Hybrid, “I thought ya’ll don’t like electric vehicles?” … “We don’t, this is a hybrid. Gets 40MPG.”, try to explain to that so called conservative he is totally full of dung with that excuse for owning a hybrid.

BS, the batteries in an EV/HEV are derived from the same processes. What’s your point, a hypocrite that owns a hybrid? “…this is a hybrid.” The resources and processes used for an EV battery many here have pointed out opposed to because of the very “environmental” impact are the same as for an HEV.

BTW, lol, I do use a laptop with a battery long ago dead. Funny, I just plug the thing into an AC wall outlet.

June 13, 2023 11:53 pm

The major difference, hence the’40mpg,’ is that a normal engine is used, and the batteries are charged by using the vehicle, NOT by plugging into something else. So with certain usage (stop and go in cities iirc), it can make sense. The grid has nothing to do with it. It may or may not be good, but it’s not a complete boondoggle like a tesla is. I don’t know what is hypocritical about that.

If your problem is the batteries, fine. There are other choices for batteries but no companies are using them for weight reasons. But which uses more batteries?

You missed my point again. Both EV and HEV batteries…NM.

Actually while I’ll not spend 40K for a “hybrid”, at one time I thought the Prius might be a choice. I changed my mind after being informed about the batt…nm.

Can Kunstler remember a strange incident which started a few years ago? The whole world was locked-down, terrorised, poisoned, stripped of money and employment, denied the right to speak and lied to about everything. We watched in horror as a global system of governance and control was rolled out. Remember how your fellow citizens accepted humiliation after humiliation in the desperate hope they would be spared and be allowed to hold onto a few scraps?

Yet Kunstler tells us we are headed for simpler time with less centralised control. Complete bullshit.

The last thing these people will accept is a loss of control.

As predicted by many the U.S. lost against Russia and has turned it’s wrath on it’s own people. This was predicted numerous times.

Now the U.S. regime is circling back to China in a desperate attempt to garner one world unity again.

All the while the U.S. regime has gone all in on capital controls making people think Mexico is dangerous while hiding the murderfest in America.

Good luck with staying.
