What value do these people add to society? They are nothing but consumers. They don’t produce anything. Yet there they are, fully fed, outfitted with the latest igizmos and designer sneakers, etc. Those things are funded by an ever decreasing number of producers, and via debt.
I mentioned to one of my offspring that I have long said that the US, indeed all indebted western nations, would attack their pile of debt via inflation. Said offspring said basically, nah, wages would keep pace. I pointed said offspring to the stats, and I said that standard of living in the US has dropped by around 15 to 20% in the last two years alone, especially for those that don’t hold hard assets (which may offset some of the impact in the long run).
The cretins shown in the video are a major reason this is happening. They simply consume, and don’t produce. Society – the producers – funds every breath they take, via taxes and debt. And demographics are already baked in.
One reason I don’t post much anymore as many of us have sounded the alarm for a long time on this platform. It has gone unheeded. My arms are tired of pulling on the rope attached to the bell. I guess I am resigned to what is coming. But that video explains a lot about the why it is coming.

I do know this much about Nature, it abhors a vacuum. The way it works out long term depends on who shows up for it. The reason they’re so ignorant rests with the ones who raised them. I’d be so deeply ashamed of my children if that’s how they behaved in public I’d feel like my entire life was a failure. If you love your children every waking moment is spent trying to lift them up and prepare them for the world they will live in after you’re gone.
I spent the yesterday afternoon with two GenZ kids who we’ve recently befriended. He just got out of the Marines and she was pursuing a career in fashion in L.A. until it proved impossible to bear, according to her, because of the politics. They are clearly in love and moving towards marriage and you can see them trying to get their lives aligned around something purposeful.
Neither of them are particularly aware of their ignorance of essential things and it reflects in their speech patterns and the phrases they use, but they were shown how to flip soil in the garden (a first for both of them) and they spent hours happily preparing the ground for planting, side by side. In a few hours they mastered the shovel, prepared a garden and enjoyed being outdoors without the distraction of their phones.
They were smiling the entire day, shook my hand and thanked me for giving them the opportunity and showing them how to work and asked if they could come back and do more. I sent them home with some sausages and a chicken and told them to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
I have a feeling that the winnowing is long overdue and as bad as it may seem, a lot of good will come from it.

Additionally, none of the questions asked (except maybe the math one) have any impact on their lives, so an argument might be made that it is rational to not burden oneself with irrelevant facts.

Add to that the fact that most private schools are now almost as horrible because they have been modeling themselves after the government failures in order to make it easier for kids to move to the government system when they run out of grades (many, many private schools only go up to the end of elementary or maybe just before high school). Sad. Then the reliance on the hand-held tracking device and its access to the universe of knowledge has “encouraged” far too many to not bother to actually learn anything or bother to put 2 and 2 together to figure stuff out, etc.
Even if a private school goes up to the high school level they are still being prepped for state universities (SAT, ACT). Standardized Government tests. Not actually thinking for yourself & preparing you for a life of independence. It’s all a master plan for you to be dependent…on your employer & government. You learn nothing about entrepreneurship or how to be self-sufficient in these schools.
Most people nowadays get their education from the University of YouTube….young & old. That said, I have learned a lot myself from YouTube tutorials….how to make sourdough bread, how to make yogurt, how to cook GF, how to crochet certain projects, etc, etc…..so many things really.
