and he was a long term smoker. Apparently respiratory failure from COPD contributed to his death

Damn.
And to think I was just thinking of submitting The Allman Brothers Band
in a Tuesday Tunes revival.

Love me some Southern Rock.

So many good ones by these guys, but, winnow down to 3 faves of mine.

Lately been leanin toward “Its Not my Cross To Bear ” as being perhaps right up there as one of the best pieces of music these guys ( or anybody really ) ever put out . Of course they do have a vast body of work and study the fuck out of them as an amatuer guitar slinger meself . Love these guys !!! Greg had some really good mellow country blues rock with a bit of a jazzy feel material as a solo artist too . Playin that Hammond B3 organ is a freakin art form all its own dontcha know .
Rest in peace Dickey .

And to think I just bought a used Allman Brothers CD a couple days ago. Musta been an omen. Also bought Albert King featuring Stevie Ray Vaughn. Hope they don’t go and die on me.

I had the good fortune to see Dickey and the Allman Bros outdoors in spring 1991 at Compton Terrace in Phoenix. They absolutely killed it, the best live concert I’ve seen. They had a rep as one of the greatest live bands and they certainly lived up to it. RIP Duane, Berry, Gregg, Butch, Allen, and now Dickey. I guess Jaimoe is now the only surviving original ‘Brother’

As much recognition as they’ve gotten, they’re still underrated.

So in other news, the Jews are about to crash the entire system. God save us from the Jews and their master who is Satan. The Good news is He already has.

I know I am topping off my fuel cans, first thing in the morning. I am going to need my tractor and my chain saw.

I enjoyed watching the documentary on Allman Brothers after seeing the Muscle Shoals Documentary. Muscle Shoals is where Dwayne found himself musically as a session musician. Without fleeing to Muscle Shoals there wouldn’t have been Allman Brothers or Southern Rock.
