Chatter on Chinese Twitter on Shinzo Abe and “Completing the Task” Was Posted 17 Hours Before His Assassination

On Friday morning Shinzo Abe was assassinated by a gunman in Nara, Japan.

Shinzo was shot point-blank in the back by a 40-year-old suspect with a homemade gun.

On Friday, Mandarin-speaking user Jennifer Zeng posted a disturbing screengrab taken hours before Shinzo Abe’s shooting.

The screengrab was posted about “getting close to Shinzo Abe” and “completing the task” by a Chinese language user called “重装小兔19C.”

Was this just a coincidence or something more?

Former Japanese PM Abe Shot Dead During Speech, “Frustrated” Assassin Arrested

He should have ducked. At least the assassin was wearing a mask and keeping others safe.

Update: Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been pronounced dead after an assassin with a homemade shotgun fired several shots from behind, hitting him in the left chest region.

Shinzo fell to the ground, where he could reportedly be seen bleeding from the neck. After being rushed to the hospital, Abe fell into cardiac arrest and was unable to be revived.

The gunman, 41, wearing a grey t-shirt and tan pants, did not flee the scene, and was taken into custody by the police.
