PRAYERS NEEDED

No need to have this post delve into the existence of God. If you are inclined toward prayer, please say them for Jesse’s wife.

It’s Always Something – No Updates Until Monday.

by Jesse

There will be no updates tonight or tomorrow.

My wife is having emergency surgery tomorrow. Since this condition was detected before any symptoms or damage from the swelling in her brain from a tumor had occurred we are glad for this, although today was distressing and unexpected, a bit of a shock really. A CAT scan detected this yesterday, and an MRI confirmed it today.

This is unusual for the type of colorectal cancer that she has. Typically it reoccurs in the abdomen, which it has done twice now in roughly the same place in the lungs. There were no other traces of it anywhere else. A biopsy will confirm whether this is the same thing or not.

She will be in intensive care until Sunday most likely. I will not be responding to individual emails very often.

Please remember us in your prayers, as we remember you.

Admin,
I don’t know if God has time or the inclination to listen to my dumb ass but I’ll ask for her healing anyway.

Prayers are not futile wastes of time to those who believe. And even if they are, what business is it of anyone else’s?

Oh, yeah… I forgot. They are offensive.

The brain is the saddest place for the tumors to grow… it steals those final moments of lucid awareness of loved ones’ presence.

People trying their best and in their own way to send good wishes is never a bad.thing. I have over the years taken great solace from the kindness of family and strangers alike caring about what is happening in my life and those I hold close. There is nothing wrong with saying a prayer. Even I appreciate someone doing that for me.

Very sorry to hear as well. My thoughts are with you at this time as well as Jesse’s wife.

I appreciate it. I still don’t have any details. He lives 6.5 hours away. My youngest brother is there but is juggling work and helping dad so I’m not bugging him too much. Our dipshit brother still does not know because he lives in MD and would call us so much that our phones would melt down.

Dad is almost 74 and started working part time to help support his family at 13. He started working full time a few years later to support himself and worked right up until a few years ago. He’s had a good, long, healthy life despite smoking since age 12. He finally quit 2.5 years ago. I’ve been expecting his lung cancer diagnosis for about 30 years. So has he. Despite that anomaly, he is uncommonly wise. He’s always been my hero and I hope he slips away while drowning worms on a fish hook.

Scientific studies have shown that prayer works. The words, actions, or religion (or lack thereof) don’t matter, it is the intent, and the more people praying for the same thing the more likely it is to happen. I’m praying for healing for Jesse’s wife.

Crap .

Heartfelt prayers to those in need ! Sometimes I get so obsessed with my own issues with family etc , that I forget others (.
Tommorrow I will call my team together for a prayer circle . I mean that , cynic that I am .

We will send a prayer for health for all those needing it .

I know I am nothing , but those that I associate with , are indeed somebody ,I stand in awe of their faith .
Just a cook , with work of import to do on the morrow . All who post here will be included . Have some faith , please .
After all , my kids still alive , GM out

The sad fact is that none of us leave this veil of tears alive. Some leave earlier and some are fortunate to leave later but we all leave the same way.

I have often wished that I could be one of those that are believers in an afterlife but I simply cannot. It would be a great comfort to believe there is existence of some sort beyond the veil of death. But in all by 79 years I have never seen nor come across a drop of evidence that indicated that this is true.

So I must conclude that we must make the most of the trip we travel here on earth, helping those who can’t quite make it on their own, teaching those who have the capability but not the opportunity to learn, be kind to your fellow man and woman when in need and above all live your life to the fullest, learn all you can, experience all you can, accomplish all that you can and above all be happy as much as you are possibly able whether helping other people or accomplishing outstanding feats and adventures that give you joy.

Happiness comes from achievement, responsibility for self with just enough left over to help others, if you can. A simple smile can brighten to day of dozens of people if you just spread it around enough.

Good luck Jesse and my best to your wife.

“I have often wished that I could be one of those that are believers in an afterlife but I simply cannot.” ———–MA

That’s cool.

But …. IF there actually is an afterlife, — and I don’t know if there is, or is not — whether or not anyone believes in it is totally irrelevant. If it is, it is … and “beliefs” can’t change that particular reality.

Surely, you agree with that?

Good articles coming your way tomorrow folks. Have a good night.
