So what sort of “business” is government? Answer: it is not a customary producer of goods sold to voluntary consumers. Rather, it is a “business” engaged in theft and expropriation — by means of taxes and counterfeiting — and the fencing of stolen goods. Hence, free entry into government does not improve something good. Indeed, it makes matters worse than bad, i.e., it improves evil.

Yes, government is a business that is based on force, on coercion. Just as voluntary interactions make both parties better off (else why would they volunteer to interact), coercion makes at least one party worse off (else that party would volunteer). Not only does coercion make one party worse off, but the damage done to that party is always greater than the benefit done to the person who is coercive. If it were the case that the coercive person received a greater benefit, then a cooperative arrangement could be established where the coercer shared benefits and the arrangement became voluntary.
