Home Invasions: All the Ways the Government Can Lay Siege to Your Property

Guest Post by John W. Whitehead

How ‘secure’ do our homes remain if police, armed with no warrant, can pound on doors at will and … forcibly enter?”—Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the lone dissenter in Kentucky v. King

Americans are not safe in their homes.

Not anymore, at least.

This present menace comes from the government and its army of bureaucratized, corporatized, militarized mercenaries who are waging war on the last stronghold left to us as a free people: the sanctity of our homes.

The weapons of this particular war on our personal security and our freedoms include an abundance of laws that criminalize almost everything we do, a government that views our private property as its own, militarized police who have been brainwashed into believing that they operate above the law, courts that insulate police from charges of wrongdoing, legislatures that legitimize the government’s usurpations of our rights, and a populace that is so ignorant of their rights and distracted by partisan politics as to be utterly incapable of standing up to the government’s overreaches, incursions and power grabs.

When the time comes to tuck tail and turn in for the night, most of us instinctively understand that we, as humans, are more vulnerable. Beyond the veil of sleep, our senses are eliminated or greatly reduced.

Since time began, predators have roamed the dark, seeking sustenance when the prey is ripe for the taking. In response, to better face an unexpected threat in the wee hours, most make it a point to set a few tools handily by the bedside; weapons, light, a phone. This is smart, but fewer will anticipate other crises that may rouse us from a sound sleep demanding instant action.

The master bedroom is the default and natural “safe room” in the home for most, owing to the fact that we will be either defending or striking out from that room when responding to a late night noise or emergency. It makes sense to pre-position certain items for easy reach and employment as soon as we shake the sleep from our eyes, and do so in a consistent way so that we can rehearse to improve our chances during a live event.

FEEL GOOD STORY OF THE DAY

No one needs an AR-15. Right? Why didn’t they tell the home invaders their house was a gun free zone? Why didn’t they wait for the Heroes to show up and save the day? Ask some left wing gun grabbing nutjob how they would have handled this particular situation, besides pissing their panties.

FEEL GOOD VIDEO OF THE DAY

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. – Police are hoping someone can help identify two home invaders. They were caught on camera as a woman in the house shot at them.

“She exercised her right to defend her livelihood and property,” Cpl. Deon Washington with the Gwinnett County Police Department told Channel 2’s Nicole Carr.

Surveillance video from inside the home shows the Gwinnett County woman rush from her bedroom and then unloads all her bullets on the three men who kicked in her front door.

The woman is a local restaurant manager who was staying in a housemate’s Spring Drive home for work-related reasons.

She heard the three intruders break into the home around 4 a.m. Friday. Video shows the men have guns clearly in hand.

Police said the men were looking for cash when they met their match.

As they exchange fire with drywall debris clouding the dark home, the video shows one man run through a glass door.

Another man died of his injuries in the driveway.

I understand he was nice boy. He was just misunderstood. He accidentally fired his legally acquired firearm in the house he accidentally entered. If we only had tougher Obama approved gun laws, he would have never acquired the gun. Right?

I’m sure his parents would be really broken up about his untimely demise if anyone could find his parents. He could have been Obama’s son.

– A man was shot and killed when deputies say he unlawfully entered a home and fired at two people inside.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said it happened at a home on Chestnut Hills Drive around 6:30 a.m. New Year’s Day.

Chevez Antwann Fiason, 24, was shot and killed by the homeowner during the incident. No one else was injured in the incident.

Fiason was said to have a violent arrest history and was released from state prison in March 2015.

“Forcing your way into an occupied residence is a bold and foolish decision – if you are foolish enough to break into someone’s home, you can expect to be shot in Polk County,” Sheriff Grady Judd said.

The incident in under investigation, but no arrests had been made.

The second responders were only 15 minutes away. None of the mainstream media stations showed a picture of the dearly departed home invader. He seems like a nice boy. He could be Obama’s son.

A tale of two home invasions

hedgeless_horseman's picture

This is a tale of two home invasions.

First, some highlights from this article.

May 1, 2015

Adrian Anthony, 21; Demetre Brown, 22; Alexander Dupree, 24; and Michael Pugh, 23; were sentenced Friday, after a jury on March 10 found them guilty of a host of felony charges, including rape, criminal deviate conduct, carjacking, criminal confinement, aggravated battery and robbery.

The convictions were handed down about 18 months after the men broke into a house on East 79th Street, ransacked the home, sexually assaulted resident Eileen Potenza and her adult daughter and left with many of their belongings. The Indianapolis Star typically does not name people who are or may have been victims of sexual assault, but Potenza spoke publicly about the ordeal after the verdicts were handed down.
