I understand he was nice boy. He was just misunderstood. He accidentally fired his legally acquired firearm in the house he accidentally entered. If we only had tougher Obama approved gun laws, he would have never acquired the gun. Right?
I’m sure his parents would be really broken up about his untimely demise if anyone could find his parents. He could have been Obama’s son.
LAKELAND (FOX 13) – A man was shot and killed when deputies say he unlawfully entered a home and fired at two people inside.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said it happened at a home on Chestnut Hills Drive around 6:30 a.m. New Year’s Day.
Chevez Antwann Fiason, 24, was shot and killed by the homeowner during the incident. No one else was injured in the incident.
Fiason was said to have a violent arrest history and was released from state prison in March 2015.
“Forcing your way into an occupied residence is a bold and foolish decision – if you are foolish enough to break into someone’s home, you can expect to be shot in Polk County,” Sheriff Grady Judd said.
The incident in under investigation, but no arrests had been made.
Good thing the homeowner didn’t live in a gun free killing zone like Chicago or WDC!

Thats a little over an hour from my house, maybe 1.5. And ya, that sheriff is right. If you go into any white neighborhood/house in central FL, you can indeed expect to be shot. Gun ownership is extremely high down here. That said, the dindu’s aren’t stupid(at least in this way), they now are expecting resistance. The story says the guy broke in and started shooting, I think they are expecting people to be armed and are therefore more likely to start shooting as soon as they see a person, which is even scarier. They will break into to your house KNOWING you are home, which (in FL anyway) is really a life/death decision since you should expect every white occupied house to have a gun or 10 in it.

I don’t worry much about people smashing windows or a sliding glass door. I figure 99% of the time an orc will try the door first.
I’m with Persnickety, an AR or shotgun is possibly warranted, although as I’ve written before, the only tool you have with you is the one with which you start your project. If you can dump half a magazine into a pie plate at 15 feet with a pistol you carry religiously (without paying much attention to sights), I figure you’re in pretty good shape.
In a few years I think those left in the Middle Class will be having to armor-up their homes much like the well-off in Argentina did decades ago.

If your gun and holster are not comfortable enough to carry at home every waking (non-showering) minute, try something that is.
With the current crop of truly excellent small 9mm pistols and a nice, thin holster like the C-TAC from Comp-tac, you can have your tool with you throughout the day and it’s utterly safe because it’s not left unattended. As an added safety measure you can even remove the holster with the gun in it, so you’re never exposing the trigger. Handled this way, a modern pistol is safer than a chain saw with no gas in it.

Lysander, speaking from experience: A hit on the star will only stun not stop or kill him. Aim at his nose until you see his head explode; follow the middle of his head as he moves. If there are more than one perp, you have to get them all ASAP. Happy hunting.
