TRYING TO STAY SANE IN AN INSANE WORLD – PART 2

In Part 1 of this article I detailed the insane solutions proposed and executed since 2008 by our owners as they attempt to retain and further expand their ill-gotten wealth, acquired through fraud, deceit, swindles, and the brilliant manipulation and exploitation of the masses through Bernaysian propaganda techniques. Madness has engulfed the entire world, with a concentration of power in the hands of a few psychopathic financial elite wielding an inordinate and dangerous expanse of power over the lives of the common man. They are a modern day version of Al Capone, except their weapons of choice aren’t machine guns, but a printing press, peddling debt, creating derivatives of mass destruction, and peddling heaping doses of disinformation. The contemporary criminal class wears Hermes suits, Rolex watches and diamond studded pinky rings, drops $500 to dine at Masa in NYC, travels by chauffeured limo, lives in $10 million NYC penthouse suites, occupies luxurious corner offices in hundred story glass towers, and spends weekends hobnobbing with the other financial elite at their villas in the Hamptons. They have nothing but utter contempt for the lowly peasants who depend upon a weekly paycheck to make ends meet. Why work when you can steal $1 or $2 billion from farmers with no consequences?

The willfully ignorant masses are kept at bay by the selling them a false dichotomy of Republicans versus Democrats, conservatives versus liberals, and capitalism versus socialism. The ruling class distracts the public with fake wars on poverty, drugs and terror, while using these storylines to further enrich themselves and keep the public alarmed and frightened. We’ve been “fighting” the wars on poverty and drugs for over four decades and poverty is at record levels, while drugs are easier to obtain than candy in a candy store. The war on terror is nothing more than a corporate arms dealer welfare plan. The end of the Cold War put a real crimp in the bottom lines of Lockheed Martin and the rest of the peddlers of death. 9/11 and the subsequent undeclared wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and now Syria, with Iran on the horizon, have been a godsend to the bottom lines of the corporations Eisenhower warned about in 1961. In reality, the politicians are interchangeable and bought off by corporate and special interests. The people are sold a fable, and controlled opposition is the fairy tale. They perpetuate the welfare/warfare state that enriches Wall Street, the military industrial complex, the healthcare service complex, politically connected mega-corporations and the corporate media propaganda complex. The American people are given the illusion of choice by their keepers. The system is rigged. The real decisions are made by unelected secretive men who operate in the shadows and use their wealth to direct the decision making of the politicians, government bureaucrats, and corporate entities that benefit from those decisions. Edward Bernays described a society that existed in the 19th Century, 20th Century, and has now grown to immense proportions in the 21st Century:

“Political campaigns today are all sideshows…A presidential candidate may be ‘drafted’ in response to ‘overwhelming popular demand,’ but it is well known that his name may be decided upon by half a dozen men sitting around a table in a hotel room…The conscious manipulation of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country.”Edward Bernays

The manipulation of the masses has been perfected by the ruling class through decades of corporate mass media messaging the purposeful dumbing down of the populace through government public school education that teaches children how to feel rather than how to think. The conscious manipulation of the masses has been designed to produce obedient non-thinking consumers of corporate products, educated to believe the accumulation of material goods with debt constitutes wealth, to fear whatever the government tells them to fear, and never look up from their iGadgets long enough to actually think for themselves. We are bombarded with Orwellian memes designed to keep us sedated and pliant, as the ruling class pillages the national wealth and expands their power and control over our lives.

Conform; Stay Asleep; Do Not Question Authority; Obey; Consume; Reproduce; Submit; Watch TV; Buy; Follow; Doubt Humanity; No New Ideas; Feel, Don’t Think; Fear; Accumulate; Honor Apathy; Believe Experts; Surrender; Spend; No Independent Thought; Win; Want More; Hate; Succumb To Desire; Yield To Power; Choose Safety Over Liberty; Choose Security Over Freedom

This insane world was created through decades of bad decisions, believing in false prophets, choosing current consumption over sustainable long-term savings based growth, electing corruptible men who promised voters entitlements that were mathematically impossible to deliver, the disintegration of a sense of civic and community obligation and a gradual degradation of the national intelligence and character.

Are You Sane?

“A sane person to an insane society must appear insane.” – Kurt Vonnegut – Welcome to the Monkey House

Vonnegut and Huxley’s social commentary reveals a basic truth that societies and human beings have been prone to bouts of madness over the course of decades and centuries. Humans are a weak species, susceptible to the vagaries of greed, lust, gluttony, wrath, sloth, envy and pride. The seven deadly sins are in full bloom today, as the American empire descends through Dante’s inferno of reality TV, celebrity worship, religious zealotry, adulation of wealthy titans, military conquest and worship of false idols. Over the centuries humans have gone mad over tulips, farm land, stocks, and real estate. The easily duped American populace has been victimized by multiple bubbles bursting since the creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913. The contention that a central bank run by private banking interests would promote a safer financial system and a stable currency is laughable. The Federal Reserve and the bankers who control it have created three stock bubbles, the largest housing bubble in history, a bond bubble and the mother of all debt bubbles, while destroying 95% of the dollar’s purchasing power in the last 100 years.

There is a common denominator in all the bubbles created over the last century – Wall Street bankers and their puppets at the Federal Reserve. Fractional reserve banking, control of a fiat currency by a privately owned central bank, and an economy dependent upon ever increasing levels of debt are nothing more than ingredients of a Ponzi scheme that will ultimately implode and destroy the worldwide financial system. Since 1913 we have been enduring the largest fraud and embezzlement scheme in world history, but the law of diminishing returns is revealing the plot and illuminating the culprits. Bernanke and his cronies have proven themselves to be highly educated one trick pony protectors of the status quo.

Greenspan’s easy money policies, manufacturing of negative real short term interest rates, regulatory malfeasance and unspoken promise to bail out Wall Street whenever their excessive risk taking threatened to burn down the financial system, led to 50% stock market crash in 2000/2001, a 40% plunge in national home prices, and another 55% stock market crash in 2008/2009. While Ivy Leaguers Bernanke, Paulson, Hubbard, Krugman, and Bush were too obtuse or too blinded by their ideology to recognize the fraudulent housing and stock market bubbles, honest clear thinking men like Robert Shiller, John Hussman, and Ron Paul recognized the bubbles well in advance and understood the consequences to the average American.

“Like all artificially-created bubbles, the boom in housing prices cannot last forever. When housing prices fall, homeowners will experience difficulty as their equity is wiped out. Furthermore, the holders of the mortgage debt will also have a loss.” – Ron Paul – 2003

What Ron didn’t realize was the peddlers and packagers of fraudulent mortgage debt on Wall Street would walk away unscathed when the bubble they created popped. Trillions of net worth was vaporized due to the policies, solutions, and programs designed and implemented by Bernanke and his Wall Street co-conspirators. The losses should have been borne by those who made the loans. Instead they were borne by the American taxpayer and future unborn generations. David Stockman, in his no holds barred book about the Wall Street and K Street crony capitalist criminals, rails against the Federal Reserve led rescue of the profligate destroyers of capital markets:

“At the end of the day, this trillion-dollar infusion of capital and liquidity from the public till had a single overarching effect: it nullified in its entirety the impact of Mr. Market’s withdrawal of a similar magnitude of funding from the wholesale money market. So the very monetary distortion – the availability of cheap overnight funding in massive quantities – upon which the Wall Street financial bubble had been built had now been recreated at the lending windows of the Fed, FDIC, and the US Treasury.

The opposite path of liquidating the Wall Street bubble was eschewed, of course, not only because it would have meant massive losses to speculators in the stock and bonds of Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, and the remaining phalanx of the walking wounded. Crony capitalism also triumphed because in muscling the system during the white heat of crisis, Wall Street had plenty of intellectual cover. The fact is, mainstream economists of both parties were trapped in a Keynesian dead end, proclaiming that the solution to the crushing national debt load which had actually triggered the financial crisis was to pile on more of the same.

Accordingly, banks which were “too big to fail” couldn’t be busted up, since they were allegedly needed to shovel more credit onto already debt saturated household and business balance sheets. Likewise, speculators who should have suffered epochal losses during the meltdown were resuscitated by Fed-engineered zero interest rates in the money market, thereby quickly reviving the same massively leveraged “carry trades” in commodities, currencies, equities, derivatives, and other risk assets which had brought on the crisis in the first place.” David Stockman – The Great Deformation – The Corruption of Capitalism in America

The working middle class was forced at gunpoint to bail out billionaire bankers who had been fraudulently inducing feeble minded dupes and trailer trash to purchase $500,000 McMansions with negative amortization no doc subprime mortgages, while bullying appraisers into inflating appraisals, buying off the rating agencies, selling the toxic derivatives to their clients, and then shorting the very same derivatives. They subsequently committed foreclosure fraud by robo-signing legal documents. Describing these modern day Shylocks as heartless, cruel, lecherous, avaricious demons understates the vileness and contemptibility of their nature. Ben Bernanke and Hank Paulson blatantly lied to the depraved, gutless members of Congress and to the easily hoodwinked fearful American public about the threat of our financial system collapsing unless the Wall Street banks were saved. This false storyline is still peddled today and believed by millions of willfully ignorant crony capitalist devotees. The financial system wasn’t going to collapse. The stock prices of JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Bank of America, AIG, Morgan Stanley, GE, and Wells Fargo were collapsing. The wealth of the financial elites that run the country was in peril. The depositors in these banks wouldn’t have lost a penny, but the shareholders and bond holders would have been wiped out. The personal wealth of Dimon, Mack, Lewis, Prince, Immelt, Blankfein and the other titans of finance took precedence over the rule of law and the negative consequences of excessive risk taking and control fraud.

True free market capitalism embraces the concept of creative destruction. Poorly run companies fail and are replaced by well-run companies. Bankruptcy law worked perfectly during the liquidation of Washington Mutual. The orderly liquidation of the Too Big to Trust Wall Street banks would have resulted in billions of bad debt being discharged, with the losses being borne by the executives who mismanaged the banks and the investors who were foolish enough to fund the disastrous schemes perpetrated by those executives. The FDIC would have kept depositors whole. The privatization of illicit bank profits from 2002 through 2007 and the socialization of the 2008 through 2010 bank losses are proof that we are experiencing a warped, immoral, crony capitalism that enriches the well-connected and impoverishes the working middle class. Our political, economic and financial systems have been captured by corporate and special interests. This corruption will prove fatal, as the vested interests destroy the system through their myopic greed. We’ve allowed a small cadre of malevolent men to gamble away the nation’s future with impunity from all laws, regulations and any sense of morality, under the guise of capitalism. These men and the nation will pay a high price for these transgressions. The punishment will fit the crimes.

“People of privilege will always risk their complete destruction rather than surrender any material part of their advantage.”John Kenneth Galbraith – The Age of Uncertainty

The chart below reveals the criminal plan as implemented by Bernanke, the Obama administration and the Wall Street banks. Instead of allowing insolvent financial institutions to fail, $700 billion of taxpayer funds were syphoned from the economy and handed to them. Bernanke has since stuffed their coffers with another $2.4 trillion he printed out of thin air. The purpose of this insane transfer of national wealth from the people to the parasites was not to help Main Street. Forcing the FASB to allow these criminal bankers to mark to unicorn rather than mark to market, buying their toxic mortgages, and providing billions in free money was done to cover-up the fact they are insolvent. Their balance sheets and the Federal Reserve balance sheet are choking on bad debt. The ongoing foreclosure/rent to own scam was designed to drive up home prices and allow the bankers to exit their toxic mortgages with a profit. The criminally insane bankers have used the trillions in excess funds to syphon off billions in stock market gains, with assurances from Ben that QE to infinity will always be there. They know if their gambling leads to losses, Ben will come to the rescue.

The purpose of banks was supposed to be to lend money to businesses and consumers so they could make long-term investments that helped expand the economy. These Wall Street cretins didn’t loan money to people and businesses in the real world. It was much easier to generate risk free returns and program their HFT supercomputers to buy, buy, buy. By driving real interest rates below zero for the last four years, Bernanke has stolen $400 billion per year from senior citizens living on the edge and transferred it to bloodsucking bankers. Anyone with money in a bank account is losing money. This was designed to force muppets back into the stock market where they will be fleeced for the third time in the last thirteen years.

inflation and t-bill

Bernanke’s rescue measures have been a smashing success for the .1%. Wall Street is generating record levels of profits and paying out record levels of bonuses to themselves for a job well done. The stock market is at an all-time high, while the middle class is eviscerated by relentless inflation in energy, food, healthcare, clothing, tuition, rent and taxes. Reality does not match the propaganda touted by the financial elite. Ask the 47.7 million people on food stamps.

food stamps

The economic recovery narrative propagated by Wall Street paid economists, Wall Street controlled media pundits, and Wall Street bought off politicians is nothing but unmitigated bullshit. True unemployment, that doesn’t falsely exclude the unemployed who have thrown in the towel, is north of 20%, with youth unemployment exceeding 40%. The “solutions” implemented by our owners have led to a 10% collapse in the median household income since 2008. If the middle class is seeing their real incomes decline, while their living expenses are rising by 5% per year, how can the economy be recovering? It can’t. Bernanke’s banker welfare program and Obama’s $1 trillion deficits, along with accounting fraud and under-reporting of inflation, have produced the illusion of recovery.

Dimitri Orlov summarizes our modern financial system and sets the table for the coming collapse:

“The main tools of modern finance are mystification, obfuscation and hypnosis. What is different now is that all the governments have already shot all of their magic bailout bullets. The guilty parties are still at large, richer than they were before this crisis and probably thinking that the next crisis will make them even richer.” – Dimitri Orlov – The Five Stages of Collapse

The questions that must be answered are: How did we allow this to happen? Are we blameless? Can our course be reversed?

Time to Look in the Mirror

“The America of my time line is a laboratory example of what can happen to democracies, what has eventually happened to all perfect democracies throughout all histories.  A perfect democracy, a ‘warm body’ democracy in which every adult may vote and all votes count equally, has no internal feedback for self-correction.  It depends solely on the wisdom and self-restraint of citizens… which is opposed by the folly and lack of self-restraint of other citizens.  What is supposed to happen in a democracy is that each sovereign citizen will always vote in the public interest for the safety and welfare of all.  But what does happen is that he votes his own self-interest as he sees it… which for the majority translates as ‘Bread and Circuses.’

‘Bread and Circuses’ is the cancer of democracy, the fatal disease for which there is no cure.  Democracy often works beautifully at first.  But once a state extends the franchise to every warm body, be he producer or parasite, that day marks the beginning of the end of the state.  For when the plebs discover that they can vote themselves bread and circuses without limit and that the productive members of the body politic cannot stop them, they will do so, until the state bleeds to death, or in its weakened condition the state succumbs to an invader—the barbarians enter Rome.” –  Robert A. Heinlein

Robert Heinlein has been dead for twenty five years. He wrote these words decades ago. His vision of a state bleeding to death is being played out as we speak. Ben Franklin had an inkling the Republic we were given would not be sustained. The success of our nation hinged upon the wisdom, self-restraint, morality, and civic mindedness of its citizens. Our form of governance was never perfect. Nothing is perfect. Adam Smith’s free market capitalism was based upon true competition, but with an underlying moral code. The rule of law meant something. Those who stole, cheated or broke the law were punished. Bankers and their usurious machinations were frowned upon. They were tolerated as a necessary evil, but they certainly weren’t admired and celebrated. When their greedy schemes to loot the populace went too far, a courageous leader would step forth and rout out the vipers and thieves:

“You are a den of vipers and thieves. I intend to rout you out, and by the eternal God, I will rout you out.”Andrew Jackson

Bankers gained more power after the Civil War as oil was discovered, the country grew rapidly, and the robber barons built their fortunes on debt and the backs of the poor. But still, there were leaders like Teddy Roosevelt who stood up to the banking and corporate interests. The die was finally cast in 1913 with the introduction of the income tax, the creation of the Federal Reserve and allowing the people to directly elect their Senators. A century of central banking has led to: a century of war; a century of currency debasement; a transformation from a hard-working, saving, producing society into an irresponsible, debt based spending, consuming society; and the degradation of our society into a mob of egotistical techno-narcissists, who have chosen bread and circuses over freedom, liberty and self-reliance. At first it happened gradually, but accelerated rapidly once Nixon removed the last vestiges of control over greedy bankers, corrupt politicians, and gluttonous voters. The transformation from an industrious nation of savers into a slothful nation of consumers has reached its zenith. Financialization Nation has been built on a pyramid of debt. The youth of today have been left with an un-payable debt burden and as Bill Bonner points out, the endgame will likely be violent and bloody:

“That’s a heavy burden. It is especially disagreeable when someone else ran up the debt. Then you are a debt slave. That is the situation of young people today. They must face their parents’ debt. Even serfs in the Dark Ages had it better. They had to work only one day out of 10 for their lords and masters. As it stands, young people in the U.S., Europe and Japan are expected to work their whole lives to pay for things their parents and grandparents consumed decades earlier.

Let’s see. Deny a young person work and you deny him a career. Deny him a career and you deny him a way to support a family. Deny him a family life and who knows what happens? Will today’s young people accept their lot… and remain in docile debt servitude their whole lives? Or will they rise up and burn T-bonds in public spaces… rampage down Wall Street… and perhaps hang Ben Bernanke in front of the New York Federal Reserve?” – Bill Bonner

The pyramid of debt was built brick by brick over the last century, as an unelected, secretive, unaccountable cabal of private banker pharaohs has controlled the currency of the nation and worked on behalf of the vested corporate and banking interests that control the country. Shortly after its devious creation in 1913, they enabled Woodrow Wilson to wage a war he promised to keep the nation out of. The central bank’s easy money policies during the 1920s led to an unsustainable credit driven boom in stocks, bonds and real estate. As usual, their belated monetary tightening was too late to avoid the 1929 Crash. Federal Reserve and government intervention after the crash prolonged the Depression for over a decade. The Crash of 1929 proved once again that bankers could not be trusted. Their insatiable greed and reckless thirst for more and more riches required checks on their ability to destroy our economic system. The 38 page 1933 Glass-Steagall Act made sure commercial banking was kept separate from investment banking (gambling), keeping the productive activity of helping businesses grow isolated from the parasitic activity of speculation. This clear, concise, understandable law kept bankers from destroying the lives of millions for 66 years, until a bipartisan screw job repealed the law and unleashed the kraken upon the unsuspecting public. Bernanke’s QE to infinity driven stock market gains over the last few years are reminiscent of another historic time, and this story also hasn’t reached its ultimate climax.

“A major boom in real stock prices in the U.S. after ‘Black Tuesday’ brought them halfway back to 1929 levels by 1930. This was followed by a second crash, another boom from 1932 to 1937, and a third crash. Speculative bubbles do not end like a short story, novel, or play. There is no final denouement that brings all the strands of a narrative into an impressive final conclusion. In the real world, we never know when the story is over.”Robert Shiller

The destruction of Europe, Russia and Japan during World War II and the Bretton Woods system that made the USD supreme across the world kept the economic peace for the next quarter century. A confluence of events in the late 1960s and early 1970s set the stage for the ultimate collapse of our faith based monetary system. LBJ’s Great Society welfare programs and our disastrous foray into Southeast Asia began the insane welfare/warfare dynamic that has required more and more debt to sustain. Nixon realized the debt expansion needed to pay for an ever expanding state could never be achieved with the Bretton Woods/gold pegged currency system.  In 1971 Nixon unilaterally canceled the direct convertibility of the USD to gold. It ushered in the era of freely floating currencies, relentless inflation, financial bubbles, debt accumulation, consumerism, and the rise of the corporate/fascist propaganda state. Using government supplied CPI statistics, the dollar had lost 75% of its purchasing power between 1913 and 1971. Since 1971 it has lost 83% of its remaining purchasing power. And Ben Bernanke has the guts to publicly state his worries about the ravages of deflation.

The years 1913 and 1971 will be seen by future historians as infamous dates when marking the decline of the great American empire.  Prior to 1971, the New York Stock Exchange barred the public listing of investment banks. After the exchange repealed this ban, the large investment banks (Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Bear Stearns) converted from partnerships, where the senior employees owned the company and were responsible for all of its liabilities, profits and losses, into publicly owned corporations, where executives’ incentives become aligned with outside shareholders, who demanded short-term profits and higher stock prices at the expense of long term sustainability. The partnership structure provided a mechanism of restraint, self-control, fiscal responsibility and cautiousness. If the bank failed, the partners’ net worth would be wiped out. Their incentives were for the long-term sustainability of the business and they were discouraged from taking undue risks that might produce huge short term profits, but might also destroy the firm. Shame and a sense of responsibility to fellow partners was a strong deterrent to obscene risk taking. The unholy combination of allowing investment banks to go public and repealing Glass Steagall in 1999, created a greed driven uncontrollable Too Big To Control brutish monstrosity consuming the world in its desire for more. It will only be stopped when it chokes to death while gorging on what’s left of the middle class.

The citizens, formerly known as the hard working American middle class, must accept their share of responsibility for the desperate circumstances we face. Some are guiltier than others, but we only need look in the mirror to find the culprits in allowing the bankers, politicians, military industrial complex, mass media and vested corporate interests to gain control over our country. The introduction of the credit card by Wall Street bankers as a must have for every citizen in the early 1970s coincided with the inflationary demons unleashed from Pandora’s Box by Nixon and the Federal Reserve, along with the peak of cheap U.S. oil production. Thus began four decades of real wages declining and consumer debt soaring. A nation of people that believed in saving before purchasing were given the freedom to spend money they didn’t have. The statistics paint a picture of a society gone mad:

  • Credit card debt grew from $5 billion in 1971 to $856 billion today, a 17,000% increase in forty-two years. GDP rose from $1.2 trillion to $16.6 trillion, a mere 1,400% increase. Real GDP only grew by 300%. Wages have grown from $600 billion to $7 trillion, a 1,200% increase. Real disposable personal income per capita grew from $17,200 to $36,800, a 200% increase.
  • Non-revolving debt (auto, student loan) grew from $127 billion in 1971 to $1.98 trillion today, a 1,600% increase.
  • There are over 600 million credit cards in circulation within the U.S. and Americans charged over $2.1 trillion last year.
  • Over 40% of Americans carry a balance on their credit card from month to month, with an average balance of $8,200 and an average interest rate of 13%.
  • 40% of all low and middle income households must rely on their credit cards to pay basic living expenses like rent, mortgage, utilities, groceries, real estate taxes, income taxes, along with their “needed” iPhones, HDTVs, bling, stainless steel appliances, and tattoo artwork.
  • Wall Street banks have written off over $300 billion in credit card debt since 2008 (and passing the bill to taxpayers), while bilking their customers out of $60 billion per year in late fees and overdraft fees.

Despite the storyline of austerity, consumer credit outstanding has reached an all-time high of $2.84 trillion because Bernanke and his Wall Street puppeteers require perpetual debt expansion to keep their Ponzi scheme alive. Federal government dispensation of loans to subprime student borrowers has helped mask the true unemployment rate and Federal government doling out of subprime auto loans through Ally Financial and their crony Wall Street partners has created a fake auto recovery. The Blackrock/Wall Street “rent to own” faux housing recovery was designed by our owners to lure clueless math challenged dupes back into the housing market. Our entire economy is nothing but a confidence game at this point.

The four decade long orgy of debt couldn’t have ensued if our currency had remained linked to the barbaric relic – gold. The apologists and lackeys for the vested interests scorn and ridicule the notion of our economic system being burdened with any checks or balances. This is where the interests of those in power and those being ruled have coincided, as a fiat based monetary system allowed unlimited spending to keep the welfare/warfare state growing, enriching the crony capitalists, deepening the power of the state, and providing the masses with foreign made trinkets, baubles, corporate logoed clothing, techno-gadgets, and pimped out financed wheels. The concepts of self-restraint, discipline, saving for a rainy day, prudence, discretion, and deferred gratification are rarely displayed in modern day America. In a case of mass delusion, Americans have convinced themselves to live for today, recklessly ignore their futures, irresponsibly spend money they don’t have on things they don’t need, neglect their civic duty towards future generations, choose ignorance over knowledge, and vote for spineless politicians who promise them entitlements that are mathematically impossible to honor. The public’s foolish attitude towards debt accumulation matches the arrogance of our gutless intellectually dishonest leaders.

“When people pile up debts they will find difficult and perhaps even impossible to repay, they are saying several things at once. They are obviously saying that they want more than they can immediately afford. They are saying, less obviously, that their present wants are so important that, to satisfy them, it is worth some future difficulty. But in making that bargain they are implying that when the future difficulty arrives, they’ll figure it out. They don’t always do that.” Michael Lewis – Boomerang

The manner in which our leaders are governing the country and citizens are living their lives can only be considered normal in relation to residing in a profoundly abnormal society. The American Dream of having the opportunity for upward mobility through educating yourself, working hard, accumulating wealth methodically by spending less than you earn, and reaching your full potential as a caring loving human being has been replaced by a perverted nightmare where we run on a hamster wheel for our entire lives trying to achieve the new American dream of accumulating throw away material goods, working to make the payments for McMansions, SUVs, stainless steel appliances, and iGadgets you rent from bankers, while driving yourself into an early grave by consuming mass quantities of processed poison and the stress created by trying to achieve the lifestyle sold to us by Madison Ave. maggots, Wall Street shysters and the mainstream media propagandists. The corporate fascists tell you what to believe, which “enemy” to fear, how you should look, what to eat, what drug to take for the illnesses caused by the food they lured you to eat, the kind of house you need to impress your friends and family, and the car you need to drive to impress your neighbors. As George Carlin aptly pronounced: “It’s called the American Dream because you’d have to be asleep to believe it.” – either asleep or insane.

“Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for – in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.”  – Ellen Goodman

Our profoundly abnormal society of materialistic zombies, who mindlessly obey the commands and marketing messages of the financial elite, has staked their futures and the future of the country on the wisdom and brilliance of an Ivy League academic who never worked a day in the real world, didn’t spot the largest fraudulent housing bubble in world history, and whose unlawful acts as Federal Reserve chairman have enriched the banking whores who destroyed the country and impoverished what remains of the dying middle class. It’s the height of insanity for the American people to trust these crooked high priests of finance to cure a disease they spread with their immoral, traitorous policies over the last century. Bernanke and his lackeys, in a desperate last gasp gamble to prolong their fiat currency pillaging of the peasants, have rolled the dice with QE to infinity, accounting fraud, and further enrichment of their corporate masters.

“Viewed as a religious cult, modern finance revolves around the miracle of the spontaneous generation of money in a set of rituals performed by the high priests of central banking. People hang on the high priests’ every word, attempting to divine the secret meaning behind their cryptic utterances. Their interventions before the unknowable deity of global finance assure them of economic recovery and continued prosperity, just as a shaman’s rain dance guarantees rain or ritual sacrifice atop a Mayan pyramid once promised a bountiful harvest of maize.” – Dimitri Orlov – The Five Stages of Collapse

Bernanke will eventually roll craps. When he does, the collapse will be epic and 2008 will seem like a walk in the park. In Part 3 of this article I will speculate on the timing, scope and consequences of the coming collapse. It’s not going to be a happy ending, especially for the existing social order.

I remember back in 2008, when credit markets were freezing up, liquidity was gone, and the next step was the collapse of the entire financial system. As admin stated, It was averted by stealing $740 billion from taxpayers, and Bernanke printing over $6 trillion. That was the cost back then. Instead of putting the criminals that crashed the system in jail (or execute them), they were made whole and grew their empires even bigger. Now they control everything, and they are going to crash the system again with their greed, fraud, and avarice. There won’t be any bailouts this time, and the entire financial system will collapse for real this time. Once trade stops, the shelves become empty, and then people that didn’t prep are going to turn into savages (the one’s that aren’t already).

The FDIC has enough money to cover 0.47% of deposits on hand at the banks. Might cover the first 3 people in the door. The banksters have run out of gold, Asia having sucked up tons and tons. There is nothing to stop an economic free-fall that is coming. Stocks and bonds are going to collapse, and the only thing keeping the financial system solvent now (faith) will evaporate. The government will confiscate money in the banks and gold to keep the FSA sated for awhile, and once that’s gone, it’s game over.

Meanwhile, people still keep buying cars from Asia, and everything else from China. It’s a giant game of “musical chairs”, and every week and month a few more chairs are removed as people lose their jobs and become destitute. The last few chairs will, of course, belong to the banksters, and then they’ll be gone soon enough. History will long mark the profligate spending by the criminals in Washington and the greed of Wall Street as the cause of the collapse of the once-great USA. But once morals, values, and ethics are gone, and the criminals are running the show, it’s only a matter of time.

The U.S., and Rome before it: debasing the currency until the republic collapses:

Perhaps surprisingly, the buying power of the dollar had been increasing for three and a half decades before the Federal Reserves’ creation in 1914. Since the Fed’s been minding the store, however, the value of the dollar has been on an almost non-stop decline. It’s now worth merely 5% of its original value. (To simplify the terms “inflation” and “deflation,” inflation occurs when the value of money declines. The dollar buys less and less. Conversely, deflation results from an unchecked rise in the value of money, which shows up lower prices.)

The Fed wants inflation, even though it destroys the purchasing power of the U.S. Dollar.

Llpoh, did you seriously think I was going to engage the leader of Canada’s Marijuana Party? I read his post above, and it’s the most mind-boggling, irrational bullshit I’ve ever laid eyes on.

Longley took “only” 12 years at various Canadian universities to obtain his General Studies degree. Very impressive. He then admits in his War and Peace autobiography that “political contribution tax credits were the main issue that Blair has worked on since 1984.” Who in the fuck spends nearly 30 years of his/her live on such a trivial matter? Only a Supreme Pot Head.

I am amused to see a few replies to my earlier comments.

One neutral, from llhop, calling for the popcorn to enjoy watching the show, a couple others are negative, while another from Olga, was positive.

To reply to SSS, the funding of the political processes is the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE, which is in the background behind all the other issues. Always follow the money, and especially follow the money to the SOURCE, in order to understand politics.

The original essay above can best be understood after one understands the funding of politics, which was the main positive feedback loop that drove the USA to become an insane system, working more and more for various special interest groups, that were the primary funding sources of the politicians, which then legislated in ways that favoured those special interests, in ways which are ultimately self-destructive for that system as a whole.

What I did regarding the CANADIAN political contribution tax credit I did because I am Canadian, and that is the only material tool that small registered parties have to do anything whatsoever. The history of Canada is much like that in the USA, except for being more muted or softer, while American politics has been much more hardball. For instance, under the issue of the “funding of politics,” I would include paying for illegal political activities, such as paying for the assassination of politicians who otherwise could not be bribed or intimidated. There was way more of that in the USA than ever took place in Canada!

However, basically, Canada was the same as the USA when it comes to funding politics, which was that about 1% of the people pay for almost everything, while 99% paid for almost nothing. THAT is the primary reason WHY the political systems became increasingly insane, by caring too much for the various special interests, while not for the interests of the general whole. Therefore, attempting to work on that problem is the best thing to try to do, the sine qua non, without which nothing else could be done. … Of course, practically speaking, we are ALREADY too far gone into a runaway fascist plutocracy juggernaut, where the ruling classes can make trillions of dollars out of nothing, to give to themselves and their friends, while everyone else has to work for their money, which means that there are no ways to realistically compete with the established systems, within their own frame of reference. Hence, I believe we are doomed to have to mostly wait and watch, as the tragedy plays through, that “Those whom the gods would destroy, they first drive mad.”

Anyway, enough of responding to the negative ad hominem comments.

To respond to the more positive one from Olga:

What happens when one attempts to take the principles of the conservation of energy and momentum, and the preservation of information, more seriously?

We appear to be infinitesimal fragments of an infinity of infinite universes. I call that the “Plenum Being,” which plays through the void nonbeing. Time and space do not actually exist, like energy exists. Rather, time and space (and presumably higher order dimensions) form the relative boundaries of the being, of the energy which cannot be created, nor destroyed, but endlessly transforms, while it directs its own transformations.

The fundamental concept that I use is SUBTRACTION. From that idea of subtraction comes the concept of ROBBERY, because any living being which is defined as finite, and thus somehow separated from its environment, must obtain energy flows through itself to continue living. That is, living things like human beings, as we subtract them from their WHOLE environment, must TAKE ENERGY across there defined boundaries, and then return it, as they act as entropic pumps. (To TAKE is the basic English definition of “robbery.”)

All living things are best understood in time and space as being nested toroidal vortices, through which energy and matter flow, in various infinite loops of that energy and matter from their WHOLE environment. We only relatively understand those toroidal vortices (like whirlpools and tornadoes) by DEFINING their imaginary axis through their center, which RELATIVELY subtracts them from the WHOLE.

Human beings are basically tubes of flesh, with brains at one end, and reproductive organs at the other. That is, we too are toroidal vortices, whose full realities are nothing but endless infinite loops of energy and matter from the environment, including our star, the Sun, and presumably, our material bodies are from past generations of previous stars.

O.K. … That is basic conceptual background to be able to understand “freedom.” There is no freedom without a force. Ultimate Freedom is the same as the existence of ALL Energy. All of the various transcendental ideals, like truth, justice, beauty, and so forth, are properties of “God” or of the existence of Energy, as the WHOLE ENVIRONMENT, that we are relatively subtracted from, when we define ourselves, as human being do, by giving things names and properties, and then assembling those into narrative stories. Energy is spirit, while entropy is Satan, and so and so forth, throughout those realms of souped-up transcendental poetry.

Human beings live by telling stories. We behave according to the stories which we believe. The relatively different stories and related behaviours are then correlated with the relative survival of the various toroidal vortices, from the smallest to the the largest. Human civilizations are relatively large assembled groups of many human beings, and thus, a great toroidal vortex, made out of many smaller toroidal vortices. (Indeed, both when going down as well as up, in the orders of magnitude, we perceive level after level of toroidal vortices, from atoms, to galaxies.)

Human beings are themselves relatively stable cellular ecologies, in that our organelles, inside our cells, were able to gradually, over billions of years, work out the dynamic equilibria rates that enabled eukaryotic cells, to then enable the survival of multicellular creatures, like ourselves, which are currently evolving into some kind of multi-individual organization. (However, at present, human society is not much more than like a slime mold, than any other more complicated biological being, although the emergence of the Internet symbolizes the emergence of a potential noosphere, that could become a lot more, IF that was able to adapt to survive.)

Anyway, of course, my conception of “freedom” is therefore quite a bit different than the standard one, since EVERYTHING IS BACKWARDS, in the ways that I perceive the world, since I have returned to the ancient mystical insights, that everything we “know” is necessarily a relative illusion.

The way that I change the basic concept of entropy, by pointing out the ARBITRARY minus sign that was inserted into our current entropy equations, means that EVERYTHING that I say tends to be on the other side of the looking glass, from the perspective of people who failed to understand that their lives were always operating in a Bizarro Mirror World, which they mistook, because they forgot that everything they saw in the mirror was BACKWARDS!

What I am doing is attempting to take the postmodernizing concepts of the science of energy systems, and make those more consistent with ancient mysticism, from which they originally came, a long, long time ago. Of course, many people would not understand or agree with that … But nevertheless, I persist with those kinds of attempts to go through paradigm shifts in the philosophy of science, which then manifest in political science, which then changes one’s perception of political economy.

This article above is mostly about how our current political economy has become a runaway social insanity, as the debt slavery numbers have gone through driving their exponential growth, until those numbers appear NUTS … My comments are attempts to understand the deeper reasons for how and why that happened.

I’m still pondering our status as differentiated and named vortices within the slime mold living a narrative and that by the very nature of being a vortex – and therefore separate from the overall energy – are required(?) to then take energy as well as return it. Which perhaps makes us thieves, or politicians. Or bankers. Or humans.

And freedom arrives when we no longer need to articulate our vortices – are no longer required to “take” – and can exist as an undifferentiated energy at one with the infinite.

While I applaud your attempt at reconciling the ancient mystics with known science and the study of energy and then applying it to the political economy – and I appreciate the concepts and visuals – my head hurts.

We trade our time+effort+skill to acquire money.

Money is then used to trade for the stuff we need to sustain life (above that of bare subsistence).

CONTROLLING money, then, is a goal of con artists and criminals. Controlling money allows criminals to skim, like parasites & leeches, to sustain themselves and thrive on the time+effort+skill of others.

Money is neither evil nor its root. As Doug Casey puts it, money is concentrated life.

Just because some people figured out how to con everyone into a massive criminal enterprise (by establishing first a state monopoly on money and then by gifting that monopoly to a private cartel) does not mean a money system is inherently problematic.

Fiat money systems are inherently fraudulent, as is fractional reserve lending. They have allowed crooks to multiply CLAIMS on assets & labor (which is what money “is”), mostly by creating credit (IOU-money). Money is acquired properly by FIRST creating value in the market. The trouble we now have is that vast amounts of credit money are produced without ANY prior creation of value, so all that new credit money does is debase the value of value-production-money.

The credit bubble thus punishes value creators and rewards (LITERALLY) criminal activity.

This credit overhang is the largest in history, orders of magnitude larger than in 1929. Deadbeat debtors (including the Fed-Gov and most states) will see their ability to borrow destroyed.

Owners of vast overhangs of debt (the Fed, pension plans, corporations, AND BANK DEPOSITORS) will see their CLAIMS on money disappear. They think they have secure claims on money but those claims will be repudiated as the value of their IOUs drop toward zero.

“Neither a lender nor a borrower be” HAS NEVER BEEN MORE IMPORTANT.

llpoh—Your missing the total picture. The amount stolen from Seniors, Account holders needs to include “the average Joe Sixpack” and it is more than $400 Billion, I believe. Every entity dependent on an interest income in their bottom line, which is diminished, must be added to the amount of interest lost by Seniors and Account holders.

eg. Pension funds, both private and public, insurance companies, etc. Less income from interest the more the “Joe Sixpacks” pays in premiums, and most often for less coverage. This is money that must be included as losses, too. The losses from artificially low interest rates may be non-calculable because it is so wide spread in the economy.

Of Course, you’ve lost nothing until you receive it and it is yours. So in a sense this is all theoretical. So……

James Dines says, “Bubbles are invisible to those inside them.” This is true to the extent that the bubble is a mental construct. ie, a belief system, which it is. People, communities, whole nations, perhaps, the whole world are constrained by belief systems. Think “Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds”,
The South Sea Bubble, The Tulip Craze, Ad infinitum. Insanity is merely a belief system that is in-congruent with what is. There’s the rub, knowing what is. We are so limited by our senses and mind.
But, Albert Einstein should engender hope. The mind is a powerful thing and we have invented machines to improve our senses.

What I am trying to say is that the current economic crisis is not solvable from with in the bubble: the current belief system. The solution relies on a “leap of faith”, a new paradigm, “thinking outside the bun”. This is the clash of the Titans, the old paradigm vs. the new evolving paradigm. This is a birthing filled with blood, tears, anguish, screaming and followed by tranquility and joy. Like birthing, it ain’t going to be pretty and many will be in turmoil, their belief structure adjusting to what is. Many won’t make it. Instead of “Super size those fries”, it will be downsizing megalithic social structures for community based support structures and improving co-operation between individuals with technology.

A puzzle for you, take six match sticks or toothpicks and arrange them into 4 equilateral triangles. It can be done, but you must think “out side the bun”. A new way of thinking creates solutions. However, it may not be the solution you expect or want. Ciao

August 7, 2013 5:22 pm

Olga, thanks for taking the time to try to understand what I am saying!

The paradox of “freedom” is that, as soon as we define ourselves as finite beings, with presumed absolute boundaries, then the principle of the conservation of energy dictates that we can NOT create any energy out of nothing, nor send any energy to nothing, and therefore, within that frame of reference, there is no “freedom” whatsoever!”

However, the original mistake was to accept the definition of ourselves as finite beings, with absolute boundaries. Instead, our boundaries are only relatively true, while none are absolutely true. Thus, “freedom” manifests as flows of energy, which are beyond our definitions, which try to catch and capture them, but can never absolutely succeed in doing that!

The nature of all language is PROFOUNDLY PARADOXICAL. The “usefulness” of language comes from the relative degrees to which we name things, and assign them property, and then assemble them into stories. However, ALL of that is obviously relative. Just consider all of the different languages, that cut up the world in different ways, with different labels, and therefore, the stories using those different languages organize the behaviour of those different people, using different languages, in different ways.

Natural selection commensurates the incommensurables. Clearly, human beings are more and more surviving, or not surviving, on the basis of the stories that they tell themselves. However, the SUPREME PARADOX is that energy appears to never be created, nor destroyed. That is the principle which, more than any other, is the basis for all understanding of how the world works, and without which, then our world could not be intelligible.

Like I wrote before, the basic concept that I employ is SUBTRACTION. Everything we know is some kind of relative subtractions of parts from the whole. However, no part is ever subtracted from the whole, except to the degree that we relatively perceive that, and then act on the basis of that perception.

Thus, “freedom” is sublimely paradoxical. It is a cliche, but nevertheless, one is not free to the degree to which one is locked in the box of particular perceptions of the world. One is “free” to the degree that one can transcend those perceptions, and get “out of the box.”

Of course, habits are the result of schedules of reinforcement. Social habits are the result of the prolonged application of violence, to back up various statements. The monetary system is based on force backed frauds. The paradoxes abound that, relatively speaking, the ability to enforce legalized lies with legalized violence forced people to accept those lies, and then, to run their lives upon the basis of accepting, or even adopting those lies, as if they were the truth.

Thus, the INSANE ideas that we can create “money” out of nothing, which is the fundamental basis of our entire political economy, is ACTUALLY the result of the triumph of organized crime, taking covert control over governments, and therefore, FORCING EVERYONE TO ACCEPT FIAT MONEY, MADE OUT OF NOTHING, AS DEBTS … which fraud automatically runs away to drive that debt slavery to become debt insanity.

That was the whole point of my original comment on this article! The REASONS why we are forced to struggle to stay sane in an insane society is that our government is actually the result of the prolonged triumphs of organized crime. Thus, our entire political economy is fundamentally based on a fundamentally fraudulent financial accounting system!

The best established scientific understanding of our world are all based on our current best approximations which attempt to understand energy systems, in which the principle of the conservation of energy is the supreme principle, which is both the most empirically confirmed, as well as theoretically necessary for the world to be intelligible at all!

Therefore, nothing can be created out of nothing, nor sent to nothing. “There is no free lunch.” However, our monetary systems are the triumphs of frauds, operating organized robberies, which have been able to runaway, since too few people understand that, in order to provide more effective resistance, in order to prevent that from happening.

Web sites like this, with articles like that above, ATTEMPT to educate people to think about these problems. However, by and large, the prolonged triumphs of backing up lies with violence, so that we now have ENORMOUS SYSTEMS of legalized lies, backed by legalized violence, are the deeper reasons why our society has become so utterly and irrationally insane!

No matter, and no energy, no goods, and no services, can be created out of nothing. However, the “money” used to pay for that, or account for those transactions, is all being created out of nothing, by banksters who have an almost unlimited ability to thereby cook the books. The PROBLEM is that happened due to the history of the application of the principles and methods of organized crime, in order to take control over the political processes, and then, thereby, pretty well every other social institutions, such as education and the mass media! (That also runs throughout the “profit from junk food” and “profit from disease” systems, etc..)

Hence, too many people have been too effectively brainwashed to believe in the biggest bullies’ bullshit. The most successful “economists” are promoting those views, through jargon, or bafflegab, which works because of the history whereby those who were the best at FRAUD, we able to enforce those frauds, and thus, they became the most wealthy and powerful people. Therefore, the biggest bullies, promoting the worst force backed frauds, were able to fund the schools of economics, as well as all other schools in other social institutions.

During that prolonged historical process, real freedom has been continually diminished and destroyed. The vast majority of people have been forced, for generation after generation, to base their entire lives upon REAL SOCIAL FACTS that the ruling classes get to make “money” out of nothing!

How many 1″ cubes does it take to make a 2″ cube?

Ask people this question when they aren’t in a position to model it, or if they are inclined to give an answer off the cuff.

9 out of 10 will get it wrong.

2nd question: Launch a ping-pong ball horizontally off a table 30″ off the floor and simultaneously drop an identical ping-bong ball from the same height.

Which one hits the ground first?

Again, most people consistently get this wrong.

Sadly, however, such people often still believe themselves qualified to tell the rest of us how to live.

But today’s new threads about martial law, anarchy, and DHS murders made me think about the insanity known as humanity. I feel like this;

THAT’S ANOTHER FINE MESS YOU GOT US INTO, STANLEY!!

King Solomon said there is nothing new under the sun. He’s correct. We (humanity) have seen this shit play out before. A little history is all that’s needed. Tell me you don’t see “Amerika” in these three examples.

Rome was under threat from Carthage until 146B.C. when the Carthaginians were eliminated. But the increased economic prosperity from the spoils of war/empire also had undesired consequences; a lust for power, avarice, wealth, luxury and insolence. Dedication to honor,
integrity, the pursuit of glory and the veneration of the Roman gods was replaced by contentious and licentious behavior. Civil turmoil broke out. Youth were corrupted. The rich prospered. Poverty increased for the rest. Citizens became corrupt. Having acquired freedom the passion for
ill gained glory was so intense that their liberty was insufficient unless they were dominating others. Eventually the citizenry didn’t even value liberty, they only wanted a master.

This is what was recorded by Sallust (Roman historian, politician aka Gaius Sallustius Crispus) …

“ … before the destruction of Carthage the people and senate of Rome together governed the republic peacefully and with moderation. There was no strife among the citizens either for glory or for power; fear of the enemy preserved the good morals of the state. But when the minds of the people were relieved of that dread, wantonness and arrogance naturally arose, vices which are fostered by prosperity. Thus the peace for which they had longed in time of adversity, after they had gained it proved to be more cruel and bitter than adversity itself. For the nobles began to abuse their position, and the people their liberty, and every man for himself robbed, pillaged and plundered. Thus the community was split into two parties, and between those the state was torn to pieces.”

It was Aristotle who first noticed the need for discord (stasis) within the State … that imminent danger is what allows the State to do as it pleases, and that if imminent danger does not exist, it should be manufactured.

Machiavelli in The Art of War prescribed that soldiers should be exposed to external danger because fear unites. Machiavelli made a further distinction between fear of a ruler and fear
of an external enemy. Both kinds of fear are quite productive for the State’s needs. One enjoys a monopoly of coercive powers and punishments that can be inflicted at will upon law breakers, The other uses fear from an outside hostile enemy that threatens their very existence, which in turn solidifies the State’s powers and punishments.

.
.
Aristotle, Sallust, Machiavelli …. they might as well be describing the shit going on in America. Those kingdoms ended. So will this one. And we might be the ones seeing, or making, it happen. We live in interesting times.

Calamity (is dat you) – I do not miss the big picture. Admin in his article said that seniors were missing out on $400 billion in interest. This was a typo/not stated accurately, as he kinda admittted in his own inimitable way. Seniors do not have enough interest bearing funds to generate that size of a loss. Certainly the low interest rates impact others as well. Offsetting that is the fact that low interest rates do in fact make capital purchases, etc far more expensive. Seems to me a fair inteest rate is 2 or 3 percent above the rate of inflation.

The real issue is NOT the “low interest rates”. The issue is low interest rates and high inflation, combined with bracket creep, etc. If there was no inflation, then interest rates of 2% would perhaps be acceptable. It would take a lot of money to generate a livable income at 2%.

Which is better – having $500k generating $10,000 per year at 2% with no interest, or having $500k generating $50k per year at 10% interest, but with inflation at 10%. If you spend $50k per year, in case one, after 10 years you would have around $50k left. IN case two, if you spend $50 k per year, increased by inflation, you would have around $50k left in real dollars after 10 years.

So there is no real difference, so long as your interest is in excess of inflation.

Currently, that is not the case. Inflation rates currently exceed interest rates, so your pile is shrinking very rapidly indeed.

When all seems in turmoil, Man falls to the generalization that the world is chaotic, insane, without reason and getting worse, so it seems. I just finished listening to Joseph Haydn:String Quartet F Major, Op.3,Nr.5.
You know the one that Ernie Kovac made famous in his commercials for Dutch Masters Cigars.

I couldn’t help think that’s a lopsided view. Listening to the order, symmetry, the way the music was structured, watching a butterfly on a flower this morning or my ducks playing in the water. All is right with the universe. How often we go through life smelling the manure and not the roses. “Man brings order out of chaos.” When all seems lost, it is well to think about the things that elevated mankind, like classical music, family and of course toilet paper. When life becomes unpalatable try it with a grain of salt. Take care of yourselves and do what you need to do today, tomorrow will take care of itself. Do what you know to be right even if it turns out wrong, intention is the important thing. Chaio

Close …

Pogo said, “We have met the enemy and he is us.”

Which was a riff on Commodore Perry’s report to General William Henry Harrison following the 1813 Battle of Lake Erie: “We have met the enemy, and they are ours.”

Heh. I have a paperback reprint of the Pogo strip of 1971.

So what is the solution? Next steps for all? Buy land and grow your own food. All the Smart Money out there is busy buying land, especially farmland right now. Land is an irreproductable resource – you can’t print more of it. And you cannot eat gold. Every one of you readers should be out there right now planning a lifestyle which minimizes the need for money. Buy a smallholding farm (for cash, no debt), move your job into your home and start living sustainably by raising your own food in uour backyard. Save enough cash (possibly precious metals as a longterm alternative) to pay those never-ending annual property taxes, but otherwise eliminate any further use of money and debt as much as possible. Your family/grandkids will eventually thank you for your wisdom in buying and keeping land – the only asset that keeps its value over time.

Novista—I didn’t know that. All I ever read is the comics. Thanks for the info.

Buff—“So what’s the solution?” The answer is “a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma” . Who knows the future, except maybe Lamont Cranston. “All the Smart Money out there is busy buying land”—maybe they’re trying to get out of paper dollars into tangibles. “And you cannot eat gold.”—You might have noticed that you can’t eat paper dollars or land either.

Buff—I can’t envision a future without money. In fact I hope everyone accumulates as much as they can. To get money you must create a product of service, which is beneficial to society as a whole. Everyone getting their needs fulfilled. Civilization really got going when money freely circulated. It allowed the “division of labor”, greased the skids of trade and created a world of abundance. Money was a gift from the Gods in contrast to the hellish nightmare we currently live under with a money substitute from
man (governments and bankers). Haha! Only man would accept a sow’s ear for a purse of gold or silver. “Man’s capacity for stupidity is unlimited”, A. C. Holtmann. Stupidity bears consequences, there’s no commanding the tides to recede, there’s no free “get out of jail card.” The Universe is perfect, you experience what you create in the lives of others. You know–“What goes around comes around”, “You reap what you sow”–Karma.

Buff you will have to decide what to do based on your knowledge and circumstances. The fact that you are reading these posts and commenting puts you way ahead of the “unwashed masses”. But, your survival will depend on other people and other people’s survival will depend on you. Read “Findhorn”, the book. The Universe wants to help you. You just have to stop fighting it and ask. Calamatiy Jane, it is my understanding that the Federal Reserve Board has been making “money” (Federal Reserve Notes) out of nothing for about 100 years, not merely 75. “The Creature from Jeckyll Island” was driven to be recreated in USA by Big International Bankers. It is my understanding that this blog once upon a time worked together with what became the DoomsteadDiner group. They seem to know their stuff regarding the history of the financial system in the USA.

The original idea was that the conservation of matter, in the form of gold and silver, was going to be the basis of American money. “Money” originally meant metal coins. A “dollar” was originally an amount of silver. That bimetallic money was less likely to be subjected to the runaway frauds of fiat money, while privatized fiat money, enforced by the government, is practically guaranteed to become runaway exponential growth of financial frauds, which robs almost everyone, while transferring that wealth to those few who have the unique privilege of being able to make money out of nothing, as debts.

That system is INSANE, from the point of view that the conservation of matter and energy is present everywhere that one scientifically studies, to the best of current human knowledge, since making “money” out of nothing is nothing but triumphant frauds, backed by force, whereby there is a runaway system of legalized lies, backed by legalized violence. The history of the USA is interesting mostly because there were periods where the banksters were temporarily defeated. However, for the last hundred years they have been almost totally triumphant.

I repeat that source of social insanity presents the paradoxical problem of final failure from too much “success.” A tiny minority becomes extremely powerful and wealthy, but everything they are doing depends on them being able to get away with enforcing frauds. The entire civilization become more and more controlled by HUGE LIES. Decisions are made using a money system which is like taking measurements with a bent rubber ruler.

It is impossible to reconcile privatized fiat money systems with the laws of nature (other than as being frauds.) It is impossible to reconcile that kind of political economy with the greater ecology, because the entire ecological system depends on the principles of the conservation of matter and energy, while the money system depends on triumphant deceits, backed by destruction, in which the laws of nature are connected to civilization through extremely complicated systems, whereby the REAL connections between the laws of nature and the human world are through the ways that violence could be used to back up lies, so that those social lies prevailed.

The laws of nature are not violated by triumphant financial frauds. However, the behaviours of society controlled by triumphant frauds necessarily become increasingly INSANE. That insanity has been astronomically amplified trillions of times by advances in science and technology, so that the contradictions between the ways civilization is controlled, and the laws of nature, become more and more tangled up absurd contradictions.

Once upon a time, dishonesty backed up violence, but the physical violence was primary. As information became more important than physical power, the system gradually transformed so that the violence became secondary to the lies. That was the process whereby the War Kings became the Fraud Kings.

The War Kings were still relatively straightforward in the ways that their power was based on physical violence. The Fraud Kings are increasingly crazy in the ways that everything they do depends upon lies, which requires people to have faith or confidence in those lies. The original source of that “faith” was the background reality that the Fraud Kings controlled the powers of the War Kings, to enforce fiat money, through demanding taxes be paid in that fiat money, as well as other legal tender laws.

However, the current monetary system is actually our STATE RELIGION, where that faith based money has seriously lost contact with more objective reality. Therefore, we now have an electronic fiat money, backed by atomic bombs, and that has enabled the money made out of nothing to become an order of magnitude or more greater than the physical world, while the weapons to threaten to back that fraud up with force are similarly an order of magnitude or more greater than the real world. Thus, the money made out of nothing to gamble with represents something like ten times the current real economic activity on the planet, while the weapons to threaten to back up that gambling money are enough to destroy global civilization more than ten times over!

Those are all ways in which making “money” out of nothing, as debts, is social INSANITY. The debt slavery has been driven to become debt insanity. Since the debt controls were backed up by death controls, we are now running away towards death insanities, in the form of more genocidal wars, along with democidal martial law.

Indeed, it provokes massive migraine head aches to think about those things! It is certainly true that the most psychopathic and sociopathic people have been able to take control of our civilization, through their successful application of the methods of organized crime, to enable the Fraud Kings to take over the powers that the War Kings originally assembled and channeled.

The distributed power that everyone has to be able to rob, and to kill to back up that robbery, has become more and more concentrated in the hands of a tiny ruling class of transnational banksters. Each short-term increment of them being able to get away with doing that means that the whole planet Earth is like an insane asylum, where the most criminally insane people have been able to take control …

On a deeper level, I say that the current human ecology system is metaphorically like a vast number of Zombie Sheeple, controlled by a small group of Vicious Wolves, with a range in between from more Domesticated Dogs, to Black Sheep. Those Black Sheep tend to mostly be reactionary revolutionaries, promoting the impossible ideals that “everyone should be better sheep.” My position is that everyone should become better wolves. Everyone has some power to rob, and to kill to back up that robbery. More people should understand that, in order to organize better resistance to the runaway ruling classes.

However, my deeper point is that ALL possible solutions have to face the REAL nature of the problems, namely “money” is backed by murder, and must necessarily be. Theoretically, what we should do is democratize the death controls better. Those are actually the only long-term ways that a better money system could be made and maintained, because it was the murder systems which originally made and maintained the money systems that exist today.

Paradigm shifts in perception do not change what exists, only how we perceive that, which then may later result in different behaviors, which could later change what exists. I am attempting to develop and offer Unitary Mechanisms, which are consistent with the rest of currently known science, regarding how political science could be improved. That can not be done by collapsing back to the same old false fundamental dichotomies, and related impossible ideals, when we switch from the analysis of the problems, to our attempts to synthesize some solutions.

IMPOSSIBLE IDEALS MAKE THE OPPOSITE HAPPEN IN THE REAL WORLD.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to stop the robbery, (other than through the transcendental perception of the WHOLE, which makes language become too paradoxical to be useful anymore.) To use language in still relatively meaningful ways, then MONEY IS ALWAYS BASED ON MEASUREMENTS BACKED BY MURDER.

THAT is how and why the current systems evolved to exist as they are now. Furthermore, THOSE are the only ways that realistic and practical solutions could be possible. The central concepts in human ecology are necessarily the death controls. The history of civilization has been the history of those death controls developing through warfare, understood as militarism.

Militarism is the supreme ideology. Everything else exists within that context, and especially the monetary system. To understand those problems is to understand that civilizations ARE, and MUST BE, organized systems of lies, operating organized robberies. (The transcendental “truth” about that, of course, returns to my earlier comments above about the concept of SUBTRACTION.) Within the realm of relatively useful language, especially after the progress in other sciences, and their related technologies, we are faced with the enormous and growing chasm that electronics and atomic energy have become billions and trillions of times GREATER, while society is still organized as a social pyramid system, based on keeping the vast majority of people ignorant and afraid, so that they can be controlled and exploited.

All other religions and ideologies that dominate the world today have worked out covert contracts with militarism, whereby they tend to deny and suppress the social facts about the death control systems, which then repeats itself in the denial and suppression of the social facts about the debt control systems. More holistic understand of that overall situation demands that we perceive that there are combined money/murder systems, and that there is no way to fix the political economy problems without simultaneously fixing the human ecology problems. (Furthermore, that is going to repeat itself even more so when we consider the emergence of an industrial ecology.)

It should be plainly obvious that when science and technology goes through sufficient paradigm shifts to enable some human beings to become billions, then trillions, and onwards to quadrillions of times more powerful, and able to use information, than ever before in human history, that that was necessarily going to blow away all previous social systems, and their related religions or ideologies. We ARE going to get different death controls, in one way or another, sooner or later! I am merely attempting to surf those tsunami waves, and tack as close to the wind as possible when I do so …

Good stuff. The war on terror has lost its connection to actual terrorists and has left us with a surveillance state heading towards a police state, which is used as an excuse to forcibly take money from the masses. The government collects all information in the name of security, and not admittedly gives it to the DEA for regular criminal work. Undoubtedly, the IRS also has access since the money trail is important to find terrorists – a vaguely defined word which seems to mean anyone.

All of that investment in the infrastructure of a cancer, continuously growing, sending roads and streets into new tissues to extract the bounty of any resource gradient that nature has banked. How is your investment doing? Getting 1%, 3%, 10% return? The big boys will ride this metastatic growth right up until they leave you with what’s left, when the gradients are all worked down and you’re sheltering in your vinyl cancer built crap and it’s 115 degrees outside and the blackouts have started. Perhaps you should buy an island like Lanai or invest in 100,000 acre ranch in Paraguay that the cancer has not yet penetrated. You don’t realize what suckers you are.

These articles give me comfort. Having an idea that isn’t a sanctioned part of the status quo automatically makes one insane and radical. I still don’t know why individual liberty is radical and top down control from the state isn’t.

There is so much to say…but…since it isn’t inside the left-right statist paradigm, well, what is the fucking point?
