Have you noticed how so many industrialized nations can generate protests with thousands, tens of thousands – and here in the US – with our declining global reserve currency FRN’s, we have a populace that would rather watch one on t.v.? I believe therefore, that until the t.v.’s don’t turn on, nothing will change. As fucking stoooopid as that sounds, I think its closer to the truth than it sounds. Why shouldn’t the explanation be as dumb as the problem?

I’ve always attributed that to a robust mass transit system. I spent a year in Europe and came aware painfully aware that outside of a few East coast cities we are painfully dependent on our cars.
