IS and Snick,
I just read the piece on Sendler an extraordinary woman. It just goes to show what a bunch of fuckwits vote for the Nobel Peace Prize. This shows what real courage is:
“In 1943 Sendler was arrested by the Gestapo and severely tortured. The Gestapo beat her brutally, fracturing her feet and legs in the process. Despite this, she refused to betray any of her comrades or the children they rescued, and was sentenced to death by firing squad. Żegota saved her life by bribing the guards on the way to her execution.[5] After her escape, she hid from the Germans, but returned to Warsaw under a fake name and continued her involvement with the Żegota.[6] During the Warsaw Uprising, she worked as a nurse in a public hospital, where she hid five Jews”
She was credited with helping save upward of 2500 children and the punishment for being caught was execution of your entire family. Do anyone believe Al Gore or Obama would for a second consider this type of sacrifice for their fellow man. It saddens me when asswipes like these two get credit for having accomplished nothing positive and yet a true hero would go unrecognized. Piss on the Nobel committee they don’t deserve to have someone of this extraordinary quality mentioned in the same breath as them. Fucking idiots.

Back when I lived in St Louis in the 80s, its Washington U Medical Center was the leader in trans-sexual surgery, so I was able to meet 3 people who had been “trans-sexed”. Two were male-to-female and the other was female-to-male.
One was semi-successful, a male-to-female trans. The other two were complete failures, and the female-to-male was the most pathetic of them all, because she really could not afford the lengthy and expensive multi-stage procedure with its multiple surgeries and countless hormone treatments. She was a short, small, timid girl with no social graces or confidence whatsoever, who was a psychological mess when she started, and a total ruin when they were done with her. You see, since she was a minimum wage worker, they offered her the first stage operation pro bono, but she would have to pay for the 2nd and 3rd. And the 2nd and 3rd would have to be done within two and four months of the first, or the skin flap formed by the first, which would become the non-functional imitation penis, would die off and be useless if the 2nd and 3rd operations were not done on time. And she was of course not credit-worthy. So the operations were not done. And she was left unfinished and damaged, much worse off than she had been before.
The 2nd was the most mannish-looking “woman” I’d ever seen, a total failure as a male-to-female trans-sex. He, too, most likely couldn’t afford the entire schedule of surgeries and hormone treatments. He became a “woman” of sorts, and a lesbian. He was deeply pathetic. Someone said, be nice to him/her but let him know you are not a lesbian and not interested. Because he is one sad case.
The 3rd was sort of successful, but I did not have the heart to tell “her” that normal women do not walk around in slinky spangled evening gowns at 2 in the afternoon. He would try to affect this very sexy Miss Hotstrut gait, but he didn’t have the hips for that. He, too, could not earn a living, but he was at least physically somewhat convincing.
These 3 were all nice, but very sad people who were exploited and further damaged by a medical community totally lacking in ethics or sense. All the doctors who handled them cared was to have someone to experiment on, and if it didn’t work, so what, these people were fuck-ups anyway, so who cared? It is really sad and ugly to see people so into a “role” that they will subject an otherwise healthy body to this kind of abuse.
Jenner is his surgeons’ dream- a celebrity showcase for their talents, who will convince a lot of very troubled people out here that they can miraculously change their lives by adopting a new body and new role… and that sexuality is everything, and is a matter of costumes and props. I doubt Jenner will be any happier in his new life than his old one.
But the people I feel for the most are those whose lives he wrecked- mainly, his children. If he had considered the psychological well-being of his kids, he would not have done this.

Heroism, And The Lack Thereof
Vanity Fair has now published “risque” photos of Bruce -cum- Caitlyn Jenner in their online version, and soon in print, magazine.
There have been myriad claims in the media that this somehow is heroic and brave.
Nonsense.
Every adult has the right to decide that they disagree with how God (or Darwin, if you prefer) made them; specifically, whether they should have been made with male bits or female bits. But as arithmetic “just is”, your genetic make-up “just is” and no amount of cosmetic surgery can or will change it.
I do not care one bit how much of your own money you wish to expend making yourself look appealing to you.
But you have no right to force me, directly or through some sort of insane “insurance” scam that is nothing more than socialist cost-spreading, to spend a plugged nickel on such an endeavor just as you don’t have the right to force me to pay for your haircut or pedicure. All of these are fundamentally about appearance, not fact, and are none of anyone else’s damn business (or responsibility.)
In short there is nothing whatsoever that is heroic or brave about cosmetic changes one applies to their body to make it more-beautiful or more-suitable as they define it irrespective of what it is.
Period.
If you want to talk heroism or bravery I’ll give you a few examples. How about the guy who gets posted for a tour in Afghanistan and while there his unit is assigned to go rout out some Taliban dudes at a location they’re given by an informant. There’s a problem though; the informant is a double agent and when they go the location has been booby-trapped. He watches several of the soldiers with him die right there; there are no Taliban at that location. That’s bravery; he went into harm’s way knowing damn well that this might happen, he went anyway risking his life, and several others with him paid that price.
You want to know what counts as heroic? The guy who has that sort of thing happen and then drags one of his buddies out of the ensuing line of fire despite being shot at, whether he succeeds in saving his friend’s life or not. That is heroic.
There are literally thousands of men and women who have risked their life in this fashion right here, right now, today in this country. Some of them are missing arms, legs, or have suffered grievous wounds from which they will never fully recover. Some of them tried to pull their buddy to safety and failed, watching him die in front of them at the hands of an enemy that hates us. Some have severe, permanent psychological damage done to them by this experience and more than a few can’t handle being the guy who lived while their friends died and kill themselves in the ensuing years.
I know there are plenty of people out there who want to argue over whether the wars we’ve been in are moral, ethical, or just flat-out wrong. That’s a good debate to have but we have a civilian-controlled military, not a junta. That means we are responsible for the wars that our nation engages in, each and every one of us of voting age. If you judge those wars to be unethical, immoral or just flat-out wrong on some other basis you are the coward because you would not put your life on the line to stop what you perceive as an unjust war.
Heroism doesn’t stop with our military men and women, although it’s quite easy to find real heroes among them. They’re found in the civilian world too. The person who runs into a burning building to save a child may be stupid, but he’s also a hero — especially if he or she succeeds. The guy who pulls the man who slipped and fell onto the subway tracks out of the way of an oncoming train earns both hero and brave at the same time, especially if he has to get in front of the train to do it. The man who sees an unknown woman being assaulted by a couple of thugs and runs them off, with or without a weapon in her defense, is also among those who are entitled to be called brave. Even the “mundane” act of smashing out a car window to save a baby buckled into a carseat, or a dog trapped in the blazing summertime sun in a parking lot counts far more than someone playing “cut my pecker off and plaster on some fake***** so I’ll be happy.” These events happen all the time and they have in common the fact that they’re undertaken in service of others and at risk to oneself.
Where did we lose our collective minds in this country to a degree sufficient to call someone who is unhappy a hero because they took their quite-considerable wealth and spent it on trying to be happier? For that matter, how about all of those who are similarly unhappy and force other people to spend their money on the same thing (Manning anyone?)
When the history books are finally closed on this nation I suspect one of the low points cited will be exactly this — the conflation of real heroism and bravery in the service of others, whether found in rescuing the dog in the car or the dude who just stepped on a landmine and had his legs blown off, with hedonism in the service of self.

THX for your essay, Chi-Town.
This individual falls under the category that includes self mutilators, cutters and amputees. I recall a story of a guy whose doctor amputated his leg for him. The doctor said he did it to keep the guy from doing it on his own.
One reason I avoid porn videos is that you see stuff that will not go away. I saw a man assault his flaccid penis with a hammer and then a nail, Yuck. While it is hard to accept that your best friend has abandoned you, that is no cause for severance with malice.
Another reason for his self-mutilation has to be rooted in self-hatred associated with what used to be called a castrating bitch. She probably made Jenner feel less of a man and he decided to act on that weakened mental state.
It has to be the same gender confusion that makes bull dykes yearn for and carry pictures of big dicks on their cell phones.
The truth, maybe better known to women, is that men have dull dicks; the sensory nerves are not there the way they are in women’s physiognomy. But Jenner cannot ever have that privilege even if they transplanted a live throbbing vagina between his legs. What he will end up with will be less than satisfactory, worse than a flaccid dick.

A comment-er once pointed out, You are not raising your kids, Madonna [today it’s Kanye and Kim] is.
Caitlyn Jenner c’est moi right down to the car accident on the PCH.
Who the fuck cares about Jenner? If he thinks he should have been born a woman then more power to him..er her. If not for hundreds of thousands of plastic surgery at his age he would be one ugly woman.
