OK! As a Muse fan and the fact that enjoyed this “poetic clock JPEG”? Infographic? I don’t know what to call it, but I think it’s cool. Also – in reading the “Living the Lie” post (& comments) from today – both of these in combination – made me recall some words I wrote down many, years ago regarding these very same concepts.

I searched my system and found them: I am no poet, OK? But I do like to write stuff down from time to time. Here it is:

On this chosen path
You’re compelled to go
A thirst soon quenched
Grows fearful
Of what is known
Melancholy moments
Cage you unaware
Elusively taunting
Native chants in the air
When a strange witness
Does appear
One so strong
Yet exuding fear
A pretentious poet
A morbid monody
Begrudged is the stranger
In feigned veracity
Heavy grow your hands
Laden by all you crave
Before you lies your treasure
and an open grave
When inward, silence pervades
Lest awakened by a shout
Dimly will your witness whisper
Lest your light of truth go out

West – I think we may be close in age. Not a lot of these youngsters remember Alan Parsons. But I was also thinking of Pink Floyd’s “Time” as well. Whenever I was driving and those alarm bells went off at the beginning, it never failed, I would nearly jumped out of my seat and steer into the other lane. Have a good night

Mick Taylor left the Rolling Stones because they didn’t credit him on some of the songs he wrote. I love his guitar work on this one:

Q: What is your most valuable possession?

A: TIME. You only get a finite (and unknowable) amount, you can’t save it or store it, and once it is spent, it is gone forever.

Use it wisely.
