So Is Cruz for Immigration Increases or against Them?
Ted Cruz’s new immigration platform specifically opposes higher immigration levels:
Halt any increases in legal immigration so long as American unemployment remains unacceptably high. The purpose of legal immigration should be to grow the economy, not to displace American workers. Under no circumstances should legal immigration levels be adjusted upwards so long as work-force participation rates remain below historical averages.
But his campaign chairman, Chad Sweet, may have sent a different message to Hispanic Republicans he met with privately yesterday. As reported by NBC, the main focus of the meeting was discontent with Cruz’s insistence on enforcing the law. But then there was this bit:
The group did applaud Cruz’s support for increasing legal immigration. Sweet repeatedly told the group Cruz wants to be the champion of legal immigration, Aguilar said.
“He said there’s no better friend than Ted Cruz to legal immigration,” Aguilar said.
Now, this is Alfonso Aguilar’s version of what Sweet said, and Aguilar is an active proponent of amnesty and unlimited immigration. (Univision activist Jorge Ramos once tweeted that “Republicans you have to listen to for the immigration debate: Jeb Bush, Carlos Gutierrez and Alfonso Aguilar.”)
So it could be Sweet just expressed platitudinous support for the idea of legal immigration (as Cruz’s website says, “We must continue to welcome and celebrate legal immigrants”) without calling for increases. But it’s important this be clarified – are Cruz’s surrogates saying the same things in private about immigration levels as the campaign is declaring in public?

I didn’t watch it as I had better things to do. Like playing solitaire. I did see that Christie went full retard and said that he would impose a no fly zone on Syria. Whatta fucking idiot. I’m sure he wasn’t the only one talking shit. Does he and anyone else on that stage realize that the S-400 is already in Latakia and the Cruiser Moscow is floating a couple of miles offshore. How do you impose a no fly zone on a country that controls the airspace. To impose it the missiles will have to be taken out. Manned by Russians. What could fucking go wrong! I really think what we need are politicians who will stay home and mind their/our own business. Not prancing over planet like retarded pigeons shitting all over everything in the name of democracy. But we aren’t going to get that. Even though I am Canadian I say we, because even though it’s hard to admit, I’m an American too. I just don’t get to vote. Likely a good thing as I would likely abstain. Reason being that when the government is shoving a gun in my hands I will be able to look everyone in the eyes and say that I didn’t vote for any of this shit.

I’m from Canada. What’s your point? We don’t have an independent foreign policy. I have to rely on these fucktards not blowing up the world. I can’t vote against them because I’m Canadian. But I hear this excuse all the time. If you don’t vote you can’t complain. That is the ultimate shit test. Not voting is a vote. Voting is showing the current system is fair and for the people. It is not.

I had every intention of doing this until I got some kind of debris in my eye in the afternoon and had to go get it irrigated by the ophtho guy upstairs and wear an eye patch for the rest of the evening.
Fortunately no corneal abrasion but I had a massive HA over the whole thing and I just went to bed at 7 pm.
