My town has not returned to normal since Dec. 2. When I went to church last night there was a police presence in the parking lot, something I have never seen. There is an undercurrent of tension that still remains, with lots of stuff going on that is whispered about among the locals. The number of shooters remains an issue.
Despite the trouble, the celebration inside the church was joyous and bold. The hope of the Christmas story renders evil an impotence, a force that will never overcome the love of God manifested in Jesus. There may be skirmishes that appear to defeat, but the ultimate battle will be won.

oops, goof up…it was the panoply of beautiful Christmas
music we listened to Christmas morning that was so appreciated.
