ERIC HOLDER SUPPLIED WEAPONS TO EL CHAPO

Eric Holder’s Fast & Furious debacle has resulted in murders of American border patrol and dozens of other crimes. He even supplied the El Chapo. When will he face charges?

‘Fast & Furious’ rifle capable of taking down helicopter found in ‘El Chapo’ cache

A .50-caliber rifle found at Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s hideout in Mexico was funneled through the gun-smuggling investigation known as Fast and Furious, sources confirmed Tuesday to Fox News.

A .50-caliber is a massive rifle that can stop a car or, as it was intended, take down a helicopter.

After the raid on Jan. 8 in the city of Los Mochis that killed five of his men and wounded one Mexican marine, officials found a number of weapons inside the house where Guzman was staying, including the rifle, officials said.

When agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives checked serial numbers of the eight weapons found in his possession, they found one of the two .50-caliber weapons traced back to the ATF program, sources said.

Federal officials told Fox News they are not sure how many of the weapons seized from Guzman’s house actually originated in the U.S. and where they were purchased, but are investigating.

Out of the roughly 2,000 weapons sold through Fast and Furious, 34 were .50-caliber rifles that can take down a helicopter, according to officials.

Federal law enforcement sources told Fox News that ‘El Chapo’ would put his guardsmen on hilltops to be on guard for Mexican police helicopters that would fly through valleys conducting raids. The sole purpose of the guardsmen would be to shoot down those helicopters, sources said.

The Fast and Furious operation involved federal agents allowing criminals to buy guns with the intention of tracking them.

Instead, agents from the ATF lost track of 1,400 of the 2,000 guns involved in the sting operation.

The operation allowed criminals to buy guns in Phoenix-area shops with the intention of tracking them once they made their way into Mexico.

The operation became a major distraction for the Obama administration as Republicans in Congress conducted a series of inquiries into how the Justice Department allowed such an operation to happen.

Former Attorney General Eric Holder was held in contempt after he refused to divulge documents for a congressional investigation into the matter.

This is the third time a weapon from the Fast and Furious program has been found at a high-profile Mexican crime scene.

What better way to scare the public into abandoning their 2nd amendment rights than to have waves of drug dealers with weapons capable of taking down a helicopter?

Why would anyone be surprised by this?

Or the fact that no one has been held accountable for it or that Obama is doing everything possible to keep the extent of it hidden?

to compare these times to the 1860’s is off the mark. then only a few issues were at the center of what became a bad day for just about everyone, unless of course this was profitable. today the issues go beyond the horizon, i can not list all the issues that are pissing off people. there is no savior out there folks, sometimes the only way to contain a plague is fire. rational civility is no longer available. once i considered john c calhoun a firebrand, helps to hear his speeches, now i think otherwise. if states have rights, the most sacred to divorce a corrupt system then there is hope, uncle abe denied that avenue, as what is good for me is good for you.

Eric Holder had help for this – lots of help. And an organization. It would seem an ideal case for the RICO (Racketeering Influence and Corrupt Organization act) law to prosecute everyone. That would be a law originally intended for use against the mafia, btw.

“The Fast and Furious operation involved federal agents allowing criminals to buy guns with the intention of tracking them.”

Whoa, not so fast, don’t just skip past this statement without fully understanding what this was all about. Tracking of the guns wasn’t the primary motivation of the operation. What Obama and Holder were attempting to do was to strengthen their anti-gun arguments. They were trying to build a case that guns cross borders from areas with low gun restrictions to strict gun control areas. They can’t stand the argument that areas with strict gun control (as in Mexico) have a higher rate of crime then areas with minimal gun control areas. The anti-gun argument has been that Mexico s high crime rate is due to easy access of guns in the US and Obama and Holder set up Fast and Furious to be able to strengthen that argument.

Think about how crazy this is. They were providing guns to criminals in order to prove the need for stricter gun control laws that have no effect on criminals and only restrict those that obey the law.

This is a good example of the crazy extremes that the anti-gun fanatics are willing to go to in order to justify more gun laws.

Americans should be much more concerned and involved about “Fast & Furious”, especially those on the side of “gun control”. Makes you wonder, eh?

Just curious-can anyone confirm Denninger’s claim they were Barrett’s (presumably M82s or M107s), and not some other brand or variety? Lots of single-shot 50s out there, too.

AKanon, look at the video here:

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/01/20/rifle-capable-taking-down-helicopter-found-at-el-chapo-hideout-purchased-through-fast-and-furious-program.html

Right as it starts you can see the very distinctive shape of the Barrett, either M82 or M107 as you note (these are almost the same design – M107 is a more recent, improved version).

The M82 is the huge gun featured in the original Robocop, FYI. IIRC Boddicker (main bad guy) uses it to blow up a gas station. They aren’t actually THAT destructive, but they are definitely big rifles.

Thanks Persnickety-you are correct, definitely a Barrett. Re destructive capabilities-I disagree with you. Besides the incredible ballistics, the magic of the 50 is the variety of ammunition available. Uncle has projectiles to do all sorts of interesting things downrange. Not all are supposed to be available to civilians, but then Holder and F&F weren’t playing by the rules either, were they?

AKanon – the 50 BMG is undoubtedly a big and powerful rifle, but it is basically a rifle, not a cannon. There are some shell loads in Uncle Sam’s range of options, but the potential payload is really tiny. The incendiary and API could ignite something like gasoline or other flammables, but aren’t going to do huge damage unless on a highly flammable target. The ball load goes through things very well, and that’s all it does. The only load that’s unusually destructive is the Raufoss, which is fairly new and fairly rare. That is definitely bad news. But that didn’t exist when Robocop came out, and I stand by my statement that the level of destruction showed in Robocop exceeds real life.

I’ve shot a 50 BMG rifle, as well as some other toys like the M60 (my favorite), M249, M203, full auto M16, full auto Uzi, etc… some of those courtesy of Uncle Sam, others courtesy of Uncle Ben (Franklin) or just nice guys at the range.

I also get a chuckle out of all the claims that the 50 “is powerful enough to bring down a helicopter.” Uh, yeah, if you’ve got at least one M2/M3 Browning, or preferably four of them in a quad mount, so you can actually hit the chopper. Otherwise, good luck hitting a flying chopper with a 5′ long rifle that weighs 30lbs and moves like crazy when fired. Jerry Miculek could maybe do it, but I don’t think anyone else could.

*look up Jerry’s videos of hitting balloons with a 50 – a Barrett in fact – fired offhand at very long distances.
