Trump will either be the greatest President of our lifetime or the biggest hustle. The said thing is that you *know* everyone else running is in the tank, but with Trump there’s at least some question. Poor Charlie Brown always wants to believe that this time will be different.

Ahhhh…., I believe this new revelation can only be interpreted by the American voters in one of 3 ways:

1 – The Donald is a fraudster who outsources to the slant-eyes in order to further line his pockets.

2 – The Donald has repented of his outsourcing ways, and now, truly desires to make America great again by returning oversea jobs back to the middle class. Even, if only out of guilt and a desire to pay for his past sins.

3 – Or – The Donald, as an astute businessman, chose to have the silk ties that bear his name, to be constructed by the chinks, who have been dealing in the silk trade since antiquity. And, was able to successfully negotiate with the rice-imbibing Ching Chongs in order to obtain these ties at record below-wholesale pricing in order to sell them at such profits whereby he could afford to pay higher taxes to the country that he loves, while still, providing first class business apparel to his fellow capitalists within our beloved nation.

People vote their conscience. I wish I knew which one of the above was true. Maybe Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, Lester Holt, Megyn Kelly, Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity or the team at 60 minutes will figure it out and let us know with 100% documented certainty. If they don’t, it then becomes a simple matter of trust.

In the present state of political affairs, American producers are DISADVANTAGED by the costs of regulatory compliance, the threats of litigation and other forms of “lawfare,” and – above all else in light of Obozo’s 2007 campaign promise to make “electricity bills necessarily skyrocket” – jacked-up prices for all of his operating expenditures. Energy prices feed into those operating costs at every level, and they are KILLING American businesses.

The Chinese aren’t doing this. It’s simply that they don’t have to deal as proximally with those motherfuckers in government pervading these United States at every level.

Your “Buy American” attitude is a bit like coming upon a person being strangled to death by a big sonofabitch with both hands around the victim’s throat, and instead of persuading the S.O.B. to let go, you’re trying to perform a tracheotomy on the patient in order to secure an alternative airway.

This when you should just stick the fucking scalpel in the assailant and repeat until he lets go.

It’s not that the chinks have any kind of overwhelming natural advantage (beyond the fact that the world’s known reserves of rare earth elements seem to be located primarily in Red China) but rather that *their* government – venal and corrupt and totalitarian and all that shit – isn’t as much an economic anvil chained around the collective throat of Chinese manufacturers as is government in these United States, which is dragging down *our* productive sector.

Don’t seek interference in trade (either voluntary or coerced) with China and other manufacturing sources of cheap shit, but instead focus your attention on the Malevolent Jobholders in the tax-feeding, grafting, grasping, vicious, arrogant fucking government *here*.

Problem with the Adam Smith view quoted is that it is blinkered: it reduces life to just numbers and ignores things like man’s selfishness, greed and sociopathic tendencies. There is more to life than simple economics, such as: MORALITY, “doing the right thing” for oneself and one’s neighbour and the environment, and other touchy-feely stuff like that. Otherwise, bombing the sh#t out of the Middle East (or anywhere else for that matter) would be actually a good thing to do as it would allow the Military Industrial Complex to keep people in jobs, support the Marines, provide lucrative contracts to US construction companies and make Goldman Sucks lots more money to keep paying US bankers large bonuses.

To the extent that (well thought-out) regulations protect consumers from corrupt manufacturers of dangerous products, they are well-intentioned and probably necessary, and an inevitable but unavoidable cost of protecting naive, short-termist consumers from harm caused by unscrupulous business practices.

Yeah, right. This said of the same philosopher (remember, there *were* no economists before Adam Smith wrote *The Wealth of Nations* in 1776) whose *The Theory of Moral Sentiments* (1759 et seq) is still regarded as one of the seminal works in the study of ethics.

There is no DIVORCING economics from morality, and it is fucking idiotic to leap suicidally to the premise that “touchy-feely stuff like” seeking autarky (you’re on the Web; look it up) is in any way a matter of “MORALITY.”

All of the shit you decry – “selfishness, greed and sociopathic tendencies” – are inescapable aspects of human nature. It’s called REALITY, which is there even when you close your eyes, chant your mantras, and wish really, *really* hard that it didn’t exist.
