What’s Up, Daddio? Evaluates eBay

I suppose very little needs to be written about eBay, in terms of bringing new knowledge to anyone out there about how eBay works. Everyone knows how eBay works. You have some shit. Take a photo of it, list it and voila! Someone buys your shit. If you have a piece of toast with The Virgin Mary’s image on it, you may even make some really insane money. (linky here)

People are stupid.

Don’t forget Craigslist. I’m a bit of a scavenger myself and although people can be a bit flaky, I can sell items locally without the hassle of shipping or paying eBay their cut. The greatest thing about scavenging is my cost is usually zero.

IS, the plan can work..Time spent scavenging is pricey…Finding enough good sale-able stuff is tough..Don’t quit your day job…I like the idea of a $$$ hobby..if you can make it pay…mike

College surplus departments are a source of some neat stuff to resell too.

I recently bought a Dell Latitude laptop in almost unused condition at a College surplus property outlet for $30 that has a usual selling price of eBay and Craigslist for around a hundred with a gig less of Ram the the one I bought.

I was sort of amazed at everything they had there at really good prices, almost bought a fully working mass spectrometer really cheap as well before I realized I rarely find a need to use one.

Mike, as luck would have it most of what I scavenge is found in one location and contains a wide mix of industrial goods/materials and discarded consumer goods. One stop shopping! 🙂

I hate to contemplate the dollars my wifey has saved on eBay purchases we did not need. On the other hand, I have found many needful things at a fraction of the retail cost…go figure!
