In my state, which isn’t necessarily representative, the state police and county sheriff deputies generally seem to be decent human beings. Enforcers with all the other city, township and local agencies range ALL OVER the map from wonderful people to people who deserve the Spanish Inquisition. I also know some federal LEO’s and my impression of them is that outside of work they are decent people, but at work they will obey any orders given, no matter how terrible. Small sample size, take it with many grains of salt.

Battery? Only IF Fields Is Charged

Fields has managed to get Lewandowski charged with misdemeanor battery, which under the law is simply an “unwanted touching.” The charge is usually leveled when someone commits a fairly-egregious act of “touching” (like punching you) but does not cause great injury in doing so. That is, while the letter of the law may be met here the clear intent is most-definitely not.
Never mind the better question: who was initiating the touching?
Second, there is apparently a member of Trump’s Secret Service detail that has confirmed that Fields touched Trump twice before Lewandowski intervened and Fields was warned to stop doing so, which she ignored.
Further, the video I’ve seen doesn’t clearly support the charge and the alleged “bruises” are in the wrong place to have been caused by any contact that could have occurred in said video.
Finally, Fields claims she was “tightly grabbed” and “yanked down”, with the explicit claim that Lewandowski attempted to “forcefully throw reporters to the ground.”
From the video evidence that very clearly did not occur.
In other words the allegation was a lie.
What is the penalty for filing a false police report? This sort of “touching” happens every time you’re in line at a stadium or get on a subway car. As I said when this story first broke and other video was available there was simply no evidence to support the original claim, and now that we have an overhead view my perspective on same has only been strengthened and major media personalities are coming out of the woodwork to agree.

I’m not saying that good cops don’t exist, but I will say that I don’t know any good cops. I know two ex-cops who are good men, one retired with 30 years in and the other bailed early before full pension. Both are long time business associates of mine.
I might ask them if they know any good cops.

Maybe they should take the video’s of all the leftists attempting to block Trump supporters at his speeches and demand each of them that has touched any Trump attendee be charged with assault as well?
Or maybe his lawyer could show hours and hours of those videos to the Judge and jury at trial and demonstrate a prejudiced political prosecution as reason for dismissal, or pursue that course after trial against the Prosecutor after he wins his case (legally called Malicious Prosecution, and is not all that hard to prove in a case like this).
What I see in the video’s would never get a guilty vote from me, or anyone I know, if I were on a jury. I think the prosecution will find it hard to get that unanimous consensus from any jury that is fairly and honestly selected in this case.
