A disabled woman was beaten bloody by federal agents during an airport security screening while on her way to undergo treatment for a brain tumor.
Hannah Cohen set off the metal detector at a security checkpoint at the Memphis International Airport, and she was led away for additional screening, reported WREG-TV.
“They wanted to do further scanning, (but) she was reluctant — she didn’t understand what they were about to do,” said her mother, Shirley Cohen.
Cohen said she tried to tell agents with the Transportation Security Administration that her 19-year-old daughter is partially deaf, blind in one eye, paralyzed and easily confused — but she said police kept her away from the security agents.
The confused and terrified young woman tried to run away, her mother said, and agents violently took her to the ground.
“She’s trying to get away from them, but in the next instant, one of them had her down on the ground and hit her head on the floor,” Cohen said. “There was blood everywhere.”
The young woman, who was returning home after finishing treatment for the brain tumor at St. Jude Hospital, was arrested and booked into jail.
Authorities eventually threw out the charges against Hannah Cohen, but her family has filed a lawsuit against Memphis police, airport police and the TSA.
Neither police department commented on the suit, but a spokesperson for the TSA said passengers should notify agents ahead of time if they have special needs.
“Passengers can call ahead of time to learn more about the screening process for their particular needs or medical situation,” said TSA spokesperson Sari Koshetz.

I stopped flying years ago, unless it is a death in the family. If that shit happened in front of me, I’m afraid I would end up going to prison. I’m not sure I could stop myself from protecting a defenseless person. So I won’t put myself in that position, I simply won’t fly. I can’t change the world, I can’t stop the TSA from feeling up 80 yo ladies or 6 yo kids or from beating a disabled young woman bloody. The Orlando shooter was on record threatening cops but he wasn’t beat up at the airport (I’m sure if you checked you would see he flew lots of times after his FBI interviews). The Boston bombers flew all over the world after Putin turned them in. No problem. When I’m invited to attend family events, I make up stories on why I can’t make it. They just can’t accept the real reason I won’t fly. My work doesn’t require it so I don’t. Period. I’m sure the TSA is quite happy with my decision.

This sort of shit makes me so angry that I am nearly at a loss for words-a very unusual situation for me. I also gave up flying because of this crap. I am afraid that until the sheep rise up and refuse to take this it will continue. Unfortunately I don’t see near a large enough percentage of the populace with balls enough to even open their mouths in protest let alone to actually, physically do something to end this. Maybe we are so far gone that nothing can end this abuse by the so-called authorities. Sad beyond words.

A partially blind, partially deaf young woman returning home from treatment for a brain tumor was brutally smashed to the ground by goon tug TSA “security” while her mother, a nurse, was shoved away.
The goon thugs responsible should get at least 30 years in a maximum security prison for assault with intent to kill. But nothing will happen to them. Their corrupt bosses always cover up for the psychopaths who occupy so many “security” and police positions from which they exercise unaccountable brutality over those of us forced to pay their salaries.
This is America today. We are forced to pay for our own brutilization by a criminal element that has taken refuge in “security” that “protects us.” We are in far more danger from the security forces allegedly protecting us than we are from terrorists. Indeed, the security forces are the terrorists.
Remember, during eight years of the Iraq War, US police killed more Americans than the US lost troops in combat. We needed our soldiers at home protecting us from the police, not over there “protecting” us from Iraqis who were not bothering us at all.
The only way to stop the continuous murder and brutalization of American citizens by “security” is to give the same jail sentences to the psychopaths, who comprise a large percentage of police, as are given to criminals without badges to hide behind. Until this happens, no one is safe, not even a handicapped young women traveling home from a hospital with her mother.
The same prison sentences should be given to executive branch officials who initiate wars of aggression on the basis of lies and fraud. These officials are criminals, not “world leaders.”
Read this article from the Guardian and weep for your lost country in which we are far less safe from “our” government than we were under King George. Indeed with Washington’s record of destroying seven countries in 15 years, no one in the world is safe from the government of “the land of liberty.”
America is now justice proof. “Security” has so thoroughly inoculated us against justice that justice cannot happen in America. Winning some taxpayer money in a civil lawsuit is not justice. Justice is prison for the goon thug criminals with badges.
About 20 years ago, I was pulled over by one of the damaged egos. I didn’t get my license out fast enough to suit him, so he threatened me with a nightstick. I told him that if he hit me, the planet wasn’t big enough to hide him. He changed his attitude then and there and became officer friendly. He let me off with a warning (for doing absolutely nothing wrong). He asked me if I was serious about beating him up and I said I wasn’t planning to beat your ass, I would have killed you and your whole family.
Today, the asshole would draw and fire, but back then things were a little different. I’ve threatened cops on 3 separate occasions, justifiably. I would think long and hard about doing it today.
