Here is the actual flag that few over Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland, during the war of 1812:

For those of us knuckle-dragging Neanderthals, I don’t understand the point of this cartoon; yeah I’m obtuse at times. Can any Bell Curve right-siders enlighten us dim bulbs? Thank you kindly.

Make that two of us.

The only thing I can vaguely guess at is that there are too many stars on the flag … there weren’t 50 states when FSK wrote the lyrics.

Other than that … bupkes!

From Wiki, Michael Ramirez — “His cartoons typically present conservative viewpoints. He is a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner.”

“Editorial cartoons should be smart and substantive, provocative and informative. They should stir passions and deep emotions. Editorial cartoons should be the catalyst for thought, and frankly speaking, if you can make politicians think, that is an accomplishment in itself.”

There is no mystery here. He wasn’t trying to be funny or provocative. I suppose that once in while he just draws something plain and inspirational ….. and what can be more inspirational than our flag still flying despite the best efforts of Brit Cocksuckers trying to destroy us?

He’s a good artist. G**gle him. I like this one …

Yeah, I took it as a remembrance that our flag has withstood a lot in American history, while getting the reader to think / ask if it will continue to stand through the many tribulations yet to come.

So our liberty is gone but our flag is still there. Hooray.
