Chaffetz Obliterates Stunned FBI Official; Serves Him With A Subpoena During Testimony

Tyler Durden's picture

For those of our readers who haven’t yet had the pleasure of hearing Jason Chaffetz (R – Utah) absolutely obliterate Jason Herring, the FBI’s acting assistant director for congressional affairs, during a recent emergency hearing of the House Committee on Oversight and Government, might we suggest that you do so post haste.  While there are several epic exchanges in the short 4 minute video, the best is the very end where Chaffetz literally serves Herring with a subpoena while he’s still on the stand.

Chaffetz“You don’t get to decide what I get to see. I get to see it all. I was elected by some 800,000 people to come to Congress and see classified information. I was elected by my colleagues here to be the chairman of this committee. That’s the way our Constitution works. Will the FBI provide to Congress the full file with no redactions of personal identifiable information?”

Herring:  “I cannot make that commitment sitting here today.”

Chaffetz:  “Then I’m going to issue a subpoena and I’m going to do it right now. So let’s go. I’ve signed this subpoena.  We want all the 302s and we would like the full file. You can accept service on behalf of the FBI?”

Herring:  “Certainly.”

Chaffetz:  “You are hereby served.  We have a duty and a responsibility.  You can sight no precedent, nothing in the constitution, no legal precedent, you know this is important to us.  You now have your subpoena.  We would all like to see this information.”

How much do you want to bet they get cut off? The game will be delay, delay, delay, deny, deny, deny, we lost, we failed to find, we are unsure of what or this or that, we cannot, we will not, we won’t. Then someone will send a message to the man in charge and hint of child accidents, females prone to falls and personal problems. Then if none of that or a cool $10,000,000 bribe does not work it will be another in the long line of accidental bullet to the back of the head suicides. Definitely not before the election and probably never. Sorry you still believe in truth justice, and the American way. All three no longer exist.

Maybe, but good for him doing this anyway.

The current executive regime is a joke, it’s good for it to be exposed as such. They will get angry at being mocked, and they will lash out, but they will be toast shortly after they lash out.

And here’s the really frustrating thing: A full half of the electorate is totally convinced that any pursuit of this issue is totally political. And they will sneer at any efforts like those of Rep. Chaffetz to get at the truth, and characterize them as political grandstanding. That is, IF the media even report this exchange for the lefties to comment on. The MSM would rather eat dog doodoo than let the public see this video.

“You are hearby served”.
Love it! Now watch the deep state laugh and ignore the subpoena. I’ll bet my last Dollar.

Yes it matters who enforces it.

If Trump wins you risk charges of treason and going to jail.

As Clint would say ” Felling lucky today”

Yes, it felt good to see the Congressman dress down those smug Koskanen sons of bitches. However you could see what they were thinking written on their faces. “Oh yeah, what are you going to do about it?” The answer to that is NOTHING. Congress don’t have the balls to cut off their money and DOJ will not prosecute.

All Show Biz.

the separate departments of the government have devolved to the point of using legal proceedings and threats of same against its own to accomplish anything constructive, the snake consumes its own tail.

I hope I am proven wrong.

Speaking of Hillary Clinton, I just saw this at Voltaire Network. Thierry Meyssan wrote an article on 9/11 titled “15 Years of Crime.” I suggest everybody read it if you want to know what the U.S. wars are really about and why Clinton should never become president.

Trump knows a hell of a lot more than people think because one of his military advisors is General Michael Flynn, who is mentioned in this article (as a good guy), and who is currently being smeared in the mainstream media. This article explains a major reason the Neo-Cons don’t want Trump. He’ll smash their plans.

What kept him from assigning two or three members of the Congressional Police to escort him back to wherever those files are kept and picking them up. They had the subpoena and he was sitting right there. I wouldn’t have given them another minute to delay or come up with new excuses or destroy any of it.

Now. Get up, follow those gentlemen back to your office, bring back the file. We’ll be waiting.

Agreed HSF

A bit of theatre for the cameras. He does have to get reelected in November. Still one can hope as there seems to be a whiff of napalm in the air.

With the tide finally pointing towards Trump the ones sitting on fence are running away from those with no pants.

Until those in CONgress put the bureaucratic turds in jail for lying then they won’t get shit from them . Having an agency tell you that they won’t discuss something because it’s a secret or you can;t read it because it’s a secret is BS . They better understand that at some point the folks here in the USA will get fed up and their response won’t be to put them in jail..it’ll be a noose around there neck .

Send a squad of Federal marshals down to FBI headquarters and arrest a few for contempt of Congress. Use Marines for backup if necessary – and keep them in a dark place until they agree to cooperate. I’m sure you can rent an “off-books” location from Langley if you need one – with special facilities on-site to “encourage” cooperation if needed.
Then do the same with the IRS (and send someone to collect Lois Lerner from home, she doesn’t get to skate on discriminating against US citizens) and then the next agency, one after another….
