See? That’s why there are no electric carts for me in WalMart when I go. These fat fuckers could walk if they would. Bet they’re taking up a handicapped parking spot, too.

I work in a grocery store, night shift stocking clerk. Most of the fatties I see are female, and have never been fit a day in their lives. Most of the male fatties I see have tattoos, man buns (or other extreme hair styles), and wear ear gauges. Most of the male, and many of the female, electric cart riders I see are young, black, and relatively fit; they’re joy riding. I rarely see riders who carry a cane or who need assistance getting items out of their seated reach. (I can think of a single regular; she’s white and elderly.)
An appalling number of all our customers are slobs, fat, unkempt, and wearing message tshirts. (I often come into my store after church wearing slacks, a white shirt, and a tie. I get smiles and compliments from female shoppers and employees all the time; these more than double if I wear my jacket as well.)
My store supports online ordering and parking lot pick-up, so the truly disabled don’t actually need to come into the store at all.
I’ll note that the rumor is that my chain will stop being open 24 hours later this month because shoplifting makes it unprofitable. (Stocking will still take place at night; we’re praying the damned incompetent in-store marketing will be shut off.)

I didn’t realize those carts were so strong. Maybe they oughta make them with a dump body.
They’ll obviously carry a 500 lb body and a few cases of soda, but once the fat body gets off, the battery is about drained. Maybe they could be equipped with remote activated ejection seats so a manager could eject riders who should be walking.
