Antifa is a bunch of shitheads, but how many signatures could be gathered to put the NRA, GOA, JPFO, 10th Amendment Center, Oath Keepers, etc. on a terrorist list?
This is just another version of mob rule.

Mike, you’re correct but it does let the politicians see that many people are paying attention.
It is serious when an event such as Charlottesville is blamed on the more “innocent” side because of the associations of some of their members.
This at least shows some push back.

These a bunch of common criminals / grown-up juvenile delinquents.

I think it would be more useful to have this declaration be made as a result of legal findings in court following investigation of this 100 year old Bolshevik terror group.
Infowars is right twice a day like a stopped clock but their association makes this a crappy idea.

This wasn’t created by InfoWars. That’s just the article admin happened to link that was reporting on it, you can search and find plenty of other sites reporting on it if you like.

If we distanced ourselves from everything InfoWars reported on we’d have to just all shut up and put a Karl Marx statue in every bathroom stall. Watching you poop.

Not gonna happen without the Democrats support, and they are rather unlikely to be giving it anytime soon.

“Formally recognize AntiFa as a terrorist organization”,. First, they would have to be recognized as an “organization”! Are they a 501(C)(3)? Do they hold meetings? If so, any evidence, photos, etc?

First, the registrant for the domain itsgoingdown.org is concealed by a Panama-based registration protection service. That alone causes me to question the authenticity of the site, but I will learn more about it. Second, Antifa appears, at least at this point, to be a movement rather than an organization. There is currently no Antifa trademark on record with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The epicenter appears to be in New York: “The Base” (https://thebasebk.org/event/antifa-discussion-series-alt-right-propaganda/), and “NYC Antifa” (https://nycantifa.wordpress.com/). I find “The Base” more disturbing because that is what Al-Qaeda means in Arabic. I’ll be looking into this matter.

They have been using the same flag for nearly 100 years. Why would a no-borders anarcho communist register a nation specific trademark for something they’ve been successfully using and organizing behind globally for coming up on a century?

Dear Friend,

A t a time when our country seems deeply divided, I am reminded of the words of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, “The point in history at which we stand is full of promise and danger. The world will either move forward toward unity and widely shared prosperity – or it will move apart. ” Now is the time to come together, to celebrate our diversity, to be kind to one another and to uphold American values. To be clear, the events of last weekend were a tragedy. There is no room in our society for hatred, racism and white supremacy. These are not American values, and groups like the KKK that seek to perpetuate these beliefs are abhorrent. Furthermore, any group that advocates or engages in violence toward others should not be tolerated. I will continue to work in a manner that focuses on what unites us as Americans and to represent all of my constituents to the best of my ability.

I am also deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred this weekend in Kissimmee, Jacksonville and Pennsylvania with the shooting of six law enforcement officers while in the line of duty. Our brave law enforcement officers work hard every day in the face of grave danger to protect our community. We must support them and their families. May the memory of the fallen officer in Kissimmee be eternal. My thoughts and prayers are with each of the officers involved and their families.

This has been a very active week for our nation and within our community. I had the distinct privilege of meeting with many constituents throughout the district. I’d like to thank these groups for the productive dialogue, and I promise to continue working on your behalf to accomplish our shared goals. Read on for a quick wrap-up of my latest work this week.

Celebrating Heroes Among Us

During my Heroes Among Us event, I was truly inspired by the stories of many outstanding leaders in our community. More than 70 everyday heroes were nominated for special recognition for their service to our community. I was humbled by their tales of bravery, selflessness and generosity of spirit. It was indeed an honor to be among so many special people to celebrate their tireless efforts. Here are just a few pictures from this great celebration!

Providing a Legislative Update to Small Business Leaders at Chamber Events

This week, I had the privilege to speak at both the Dade City Chamber of Commerce and the Tarpon Springs Chamber of Commerce to provide a brief Legislative Update. I also had the opportunity to answer questions and learn about their priorities. I look forward to working on the issues raised including: fighting for tax reform, addressing the opioid crisis, making an investment in infrastructure and championing health care reform.

Snapshots from the District

Touring the Pasco Hernando State College Aviation Program, which is preparing students for high skill/high wage jobs in a growing industry.

Visiting TRAK Microwave Corporation to learn about how the parts they engineer are used on military equipment and other aircraft. Also had the opportunity to meet 170 of their employees, 20% of which are Veterans, to discuss industry issues.

Always a pleasure to meet with my Veterans Advisory Committee to discuss issues facing the Veteran Community. I look forward to working on fixing the problems we discussed.

Upcoming Events

We have many exciting events coming up next week. Please join us as we work to address pressing needs in our community!

We will be having an important conversation about opioid abuse on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 starting at 11:45 a.m. at the Alliance for Substance Abuse meeting held at the Land O’ Lakes Community Center. The address is 5401 Land O’ Lakes Blvd, Land O Lakes, FL 34639. Please join us if you or your loved one has been impacted by this crisis as we work to find innovative solutions to the problem.

Thank you for reading this week’s update. Feel free to share this e-newsletter with friends and encourage them to sign up! Remember, you can always stay in touch with me via email , Facebook , Twitter , and Instagram . I look forward to seeing you at events around the district over the coming few weeks!

Sincerely,

Gus Bilirakis

Gun Owners In Texas Can Shoot You On Sight If You Mess With Our Statues!

Texas Police Academy Instructor Phil Ryan warns all Antifa and BLM protesters, and anyone else interested in defacing their state statues, that if they bring their attitude to Texas, they could end up dead.

Ryan posted this warning to his Facebook page:

Phil’s Complete Tweet:

As a police officer and police academy instructor, I am posting this as a public service announcement.

In Texas, Criminal Mischief (Vandalism) is a crime. So, let’s say someone is defacing or destroying a monument or a statue, not that it happens, just a hypothetical. That would be Criminal Mischief under Texas Penal Code:

Sec. 28.03. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF.
(a) A person commits an offense if, without the effective consent of the owner:
(1) he intentionally or knowingly damages or destroys the tangible property of the owner;
(2) he intentionally or knowingly tampers with the tangible property of the owner and causes pecuniary loss or substantial inconvenience to the owner or a third person; or
(3) he intentionally or knowingly makes markings, including inscriptions, slogans, drawings, or paintings, on the tangible property of the owner.

Texas Penal Code Chapter 9, which are the laws concerning the use of force and deadly force to protect yourself, someone else, your property, or someone else’s property (could be state, county or municipal property (the peoples). In Chapter 9 under defense of property it says:

Sec. 9.43. PROTECTION OF THIRD PERSON’S PROPERTY.
A person is justified in using force or deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property of a third person if, under the circumstances as he reasonably believes them to be, the actor would be justified under Section 9.41 or 9.42 in using force or deadly force to protect his own land or property and:
(1) the actor reasonably believes the unlawful interference constitutes attempted or consummated theft of or criminal mischief to the tangible, movable property;

Chapter 9.41 states: PROTECTION OF ONE’S OWN PROPERTY.
(a) A person in lawful possession of land or tangible, movable property is justified in using force against another when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to prevent or terminate the other’s trespass on the land or unlawful interference with the property (Criminal Mischief is unlawful interference with property).

Chapter 9.42 states: DEADLY FORCE TO PROTECT PROPERTY.
A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property:
(2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:
(A) to prevent the other’s imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime (Night time is 30 minutes after sunset until 30 minutes before sunrise).

Bottom line, if someone is destroying a monument or statue that isn’t theirs, you can defend it by force during the day with deadly force at night.
